I took my family of five on a two-day, overnight raft trip down the middle fork of the Flathead River two days ago. Our river guides, John and Alex, were fantastic. Both are very knowledgeable of the stretch of river we ran, including the whitewater. Absolutely beautiful views and the kids had a great time (ages 19,17 and 14 though younger kids would easily handle this trip as well). Camping out in the bank of the river was unforgettable and I would love to do it again. Very helpful that John is a Michelin rated chef and made an amazing bolognese for dinner! Food was excellent, conversation was easy going and fun. I recommend this company to anyone! read more

There are many white water rafting companies in West Glacier area. This one has the original permit that has been passed down. It's in a great location just off of highway 2 just a few miles from the west glacier entrance. In may and June they provide free wetsuits and booties. James was our guide and he was great. Wish I could tell you if I recommend this business or not. We made reservations through a 3rd party, Glacier Tourbase, was charged, and received a confirmation email. I called their office 2.5 hours before our tour time and was told they couldn't accommodate us. The person on the phone explained that while Glacier Tourbase had availability in their system, Wild Rivers didn't. They emailed GT at some point after receiving our reservation, but GT didn't email me. Lesson learned - called Wild Rivers directly to make your reservations. read more

Wow, I don't know what to say about this experience except: WOW! I booked this trip through Yelp a couple of weeks before we arrived on our planned trip to Glacier National Park. We chose their Half Day Whitewater Rafting trip as we were looking for something more adventurous than a river float, but I wasn't sure if my daughter was ready for the intensity of their "Wild Side" trip. This seemed like a good compromise and intro to rafting. I was also excited they had an option to add a dinner on to our rafting adventure as the idea of a freshly grilled steak beside the river sounded heavenly. (I was SHOCKED that - out of the roughly 20+ people in our 3-raft group, only four of us had booked the dinner option. People, BOOK THE DINNER! It's affordable and was delicious. But I'll get to that later.) We arrived about half an hour before our scheduled 2pm departure. We checked in and purchased a small tube of sunscreen and some eyeglass neckstraps to keep our shades in place on the river, then we headed outside to be fitted for life jackets and helmets, and meet the three guides who would be taking us down the river. Our group included three full rafts and three individuals who had chosen the single kayak adventure and were coming along with us. Later, when one of the kayak riders fell out in some rapids, our raft was the one directly behind him and we all paddled hard to reach him (and his kayak) - he was fine and loved the adventure. Our guide was Martin and he was awesome! He was funny, super sweet to the kids in our raft, and made lively conversation during the slower parts of the river. As we paddled down the Middle Fork Flathead River, which snakes between Glacier National Park and the Bob Marshall Wilderness, he told us a lot about the history and geology of the area. When the river slowed in spots, he even jumped out of the raft a couple of times for a cool dip - quickly inspiring the youngsters to do the same. The river was cold but they loved it! After navigating roughly 9 miles of this gorgeous river, the whitewater portion of the trip was over and me, my daughter, and another couple from our raft followed Martin down a short path to a secluded spot by the river where chairs, a table, and a cooler full of dinner goodness were awaiting us. Martin set up a handwashing station and set out some appy's and lemonade while the four of us chitchatted and enjoyed the river, and then he set out a super tasty, fresh salad before heading off to the grill to prepare steaks, salmon, baked potatoes (with all the fixin's), and even grilled mushrooms. The steaks were expertly prepared! I admit, I had been thinking we might not get perfectly cooked meat but I was wrong - he made them to order and did them well. There was PLENTY of food to go around, and we all filled our bellies with Martin telling us stories of his adventures and plans for his future (he just graduated from college). The worst part of this amazing half day + dinner experience was that it was over too fast. I would easily and happily book this adventure again and again. In fact, we're talking about going back next summer for one of their overnight trips. I hope Martin is still there! read more

10 stars! An excellent experience. We did the half day scenic float. Maddy was on our raft, Christina was on the other raft. They were both great! During the trip, Maddy kept us entertained with information about Glacier, wildlife, and jokes. Some were even funny! While on the trip down the river, my granddaughter found a stick. She was so excited. Then she forgot it on the bus. She was heartbroken. The next day, we went to the office, and they sent someone to check the bus. Not only did he return with the stick, but he showed her where it had been chewed by beavers and told her a little about it. We couldn't have been more pleased. My granddaughter was eager to try the whitewater trip, but Wild River didn't have any openings during the time we were at Glacier. We decided we didn't want to even try a different company. We knew no one else would be able to meet the standard set by Maddy. We definitely recommend! read more
