This place is totally amazing. I came here on a Saturday with my 9 year old daughter. We had a draft horse and a regular one which was still big. We road Dempsey and Rosie. Dempsey was a funny horse my daughter road him and he enjoyed trotting lol which she LOVED. The guides were wonderful, very nice and helped out when someone needed it. The trail ride was seriously awesome and I can't think of a better ride that I have had. Some things I would recommend a rider to bring with them on the ride: water, bandana to cover you face from the dust, hat, apply sunscreen before your ride, apples for your horse and a tip for the guides they deserve it . We highly recommend this place and we will come back many more times to enjoy theses happy horses!

The staff are great with the horses and we felt safe the entire time. They take you through a shaded area trail where the horses get the chance to pick up some speed occasionally. We'd highly recommend this place and we will be returning for the next time that we're itching to ride.

Had the most amazing time celebrating my birthday. I booked the same day and ended up being escorted by Leo. He was very friendly and fun. Not to mention all the horses seemed happy and well-groomed. Most importantly, the experience in itself was invaluable. The horses were well-behaved and the trail was amazing! You definitely get the bang for your buck in this one. Also if you are visiting please don't forget to tip. I rode Rex and he was a total cutie.

Had such an amazing tour with Renee. The horses were well trained and healthy. The trail we went through was a lot of fun and actually naturey. She was really helpful and funny. We would love to come back for more events with her. Heads up to anyone riding maverick... That horse is going to pull away the cover from his mouth and eat along the way but he keeps up with the other horses. If he falls behind (which only happens if it's behind a slow horse that then speeds up) he gallops really fast. So there needs to be a good balance between giving him space to graze yet not enough slack to gallop and scare the heck out of you if you're a beginner like me.

We had a girls night out yesterday and decided to give this place a try. They were fabulous the owner was very polite and so was our guide and the gentlemen that assisted us. We all had so much fun on the trail ride and it was so absolutely beautiful. We will defiantly be coming back to enjoy the wonderful horses. Thank you for making our girls night out an enjoyable one.

Brought my family to Western Trails Horseback Riding.! We enjoyed it very much! It was my son (9yo) and my daughters (8yo) first time horse back riding. The horses look well taken care of and have a huge area to roam around. Very friendly. And I love that they don't you bit metals on their horses!Danny and Cindy where our wranglers and are the best, and very nice too. My daughter wants to host her birthday party here now. The experience was more than what I was expecting it to be considering their low pricing. I've been to other expensive horse back riding places and I must say this has been the best. I recommended this place to my family and friends already. And we will return!

I did a reservation for 5 this weekend to celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday. Im so happy with their service, thank you so much Rebecca and partner ( I don't remember his name) they made the experience so beautiful. They were so nice to us and they also were educating us about the horses and the area. It was my daughter's first time riding a horse and she loved it, so definitely we are coming back again. Don't hesitate to try this. Our horses name were, Rosie, Crowd, Princess, Rio. Also they were so nice to take pictures! Thank you Rebecca you were so nice with my daughter.

Booked a last minute (the night before) for my sister and I to take our two 11 yr old girls for a horseback ride. It was easy access from the freeway and easy to find. Parking was a little iffy, not sure if we were legal or not but it all worked out. Went out with a wrangler and a small group of riders. Great ride, some of the trail was shaded, horses knew right where to go, felt totally comfortable with the instructions given and with my gorgeous horse. Will be back for another ride again.

Amazing experience. Great trail boss, Steven, who was fun, informative and on point in keeping everyone comfortable and happy. The horses from this ranch are happy and active enough to feel like a true trail ride, not just a slow moving lazy stroll. Will be visiting this establishment again and again.

Yee-ha! This gave me a fantastic first time horse riding experience! I was bored and looked for things to do online in socal and came across horseback riding. Hey, why not? I checked out this website and thought price was reasonable. Got a girlfriend over the memorial day weekend to go with me and made online reservations! Weekday costs $25 and weekend is $35. Everything is done online so the prices are kept low. You get to look at the time schedules available and choose the best one. You get an hour(technically 90 minutes) on this trip. I rode on Rio Grande. Fantastic horse, but loves to pick on the horse that was in front of him because Rio Grande is higher in the class hierarchy. They put you on the horse and take you to the local streets, then we went around a trail. Yes, it gets dusty, that is why you should get a bandana they provide you with! Overall, very fun and will definitely recommend to others!

Got on the bike trail @ waterman in San Bernadino. Rode 20 miles & what a treat to see beautiful horses in Riverside. That's where the bike trail turns to dirt, so I turned around... If I had my mountain instead, I'd still continue onward. Detour in Riverside bike trail so had to ride up Jurupa-- see detour signs. 40 mile ride today, gorgeous mountains & greenery. You can drive to this horse place, there's parking & places to tether your 4 legged ride.

I've never ridden a horse before and really wanted to do it so I googled horse back riding in my area and found this one. They only allow you to schedule and pay online, which is easy to do through paypal. They suggest wearing long pants, closed toe shoes, and t shirt. This was so much fun for me since I've never ridden a horse before. I had a slap happy look on my face for quite a while. I paid $25 online for a 90 minute ride with views of the local neighborhood, green hills, snow covered mountains, and finally through a dry-chaparral-swampy area before looping back again. The lady gives you a brief introduction as to what to do with the reins and some quirks about your particular horse. The only downside about the ride was that it got a bit dusty halfway through because of the dry weather, and that the scenery wasn't terrrriblly interesting. But for a first timer for me, it was definitely a lot of fun. And Norco is sort of a cute western-y town to drive through.

We went for the breakfast ride for my sisters birthday! They had scrambled eggs, bacon, hash browns, coffee, OJ and Salsa! The food hit The spot! The horses are beautiful and the wranglers really made sure everyone felt comfortable. The trail was amazing, I would recommend this to anyone!!

Going into this trip I didn't know much, other than they had horses and that was what I wanted to do - ride horses. We arrived really early in the morning and was picked up at the airport, which was the size of a postage stamp. It was really easy to find our person, who grabbed our bags and loaded them into the trailer while we sat in the van. Met some others that were on the trip on the way to the lodge. Upon arrival they had a tent setup in the front where they greeted us, gave us a bag with a map of the property and list of that week's activities, told us our rooms weren't ready yet but they would find us when they were. Now - I'm going to note that they said they would find us when our room was ready and I didn't think they really would. We continued to check in to see when the room would be ready, but then later I saw them literally hunting someone down to give her keys - so they will indeed find you. When we checked in the room was a standard lodge room, we had a fridge but our friends didn't, in mentioning this in passing to the staff they brought them a fridge. Talk about service! We spent the next four days riding horses mostly, but also enjoying the company of the other guests and hearing stories from the staff. While we were really heavy on the horse rides we also enjoyed taking a tour of the elk preserve and clay sporting. We got a ride up to the yoga spot for a view (weren't too keen on hiking up there) and spent a good amount of time in the bar with fellow guests chatting up the staff. Everyone was amazing and so accommodating- I had said it was a bucket list trip but the staff at the Averill ranch has me seriously considering returning next year. Thank you for the memories.

The river has native west slope cutthroat and big bull trout. The fly of choice is the atomic ant, the water is so cold and pure in this area that rarely are there fly hatches, well at least the time we were there. The ranch backs into a National Forrest, where you cannot use any motorized vehicle, you can only hike or horse back into to fly fish. They do have a side road that will take the Fly fishing guides up half way up the river, where they will set in a float boat to fly fish. The guides here are very good, they know there stuff. I witnessed some of the best casting in years here. On a lunch break we stopped, and out of the boat one of the guides was backed up to a cliff that rose two hundred feet above him, yet he could make these cast out to the front and his back casts where going straight above him. That brought tears to my eyes, in true joy seeing that, I thought I could cast. Now if you have ever gone through an Orvis home decorating catalog, which is what the inside of these cabins, was filled with, Orvis lamps, bedspreads, towels to soaps, just unbelievable. IT reminded me of something Ralph Loren would put together. If you do go here, set aside a few days to go up to Glacier National Forrest, well worth it. The food was very great, but what I remember was the beauty of the area, the great customer service from the ranch hands, guides and staff. The fly fishing was just more than very good, it was off the chart. Thank you Spotted Bear Ranch, what a great spot for a guy to spend time with his dad! Thank you!
