Specialties

Wild Rivers Coffee sources only Certified Organic, Free Trade, and grade 1( gourmet) coffee and roasts to a medium (chocolate colored) roast. I use a fluid bed roaster that keeps smoke away from the bean for a clean flavorful cup of coffee. I am to small a roaster to have Organic Certification myself, so Wild Rivers Coffee is not a certified organic roaster at this time.

History

Established in 2015.

Not being able to find Gourmet quality coffee that was not roasted to the point of tasting burnt locally, I decided to start my own roasting business. I hope to keep some the money that is spent online for quality coffee in our local community and at the same time satisfy my own desire for great coffee.

Service was the first red flag -- our waitress never brought plain creamer to the table, so I had to walk over and grab some off another table myself. She also never came back for coffee refills and never once asked how the food was. It felt like she was actively avoiding our table the whole meal. And the food didn't make up for it at all. Everything was bland with zero seasoning -- like it came straight out of the pan with nothing added. The egg whites were runny instead of cooked through, and the "famous" pancakes everyone raves about were chewy, not fluffy. We spent over $50 for what ended up being the plainest, most disappointing breakfast we've had in a long time. Won't be back.

This coffee is great! We were in a search to find our favorite coffee and have been trying many various kinds from Seattle's Best to Kicking Horse to Harry and David's. Wild River's is the best! It smells so good when grinding it up and tastes so smooth. Just delicious! We love it and will be driving back down to Crescent City from Brookings just to get more. We had the House Blend, but will be definitely trying them all. Very impressed! read more
