I've tried to give Wildside Smoke Shop in Goleta multiple chances, but this was the final straw. This is the third time I've received expired products from them. Today my boyfriend stopped in for me, and once again the item was out of date. This isn't just inconvenient, it's irresponsible. Selling expired products can genuinely make someone sick. It's not a small mistake, especially when it keeps happening. I understand that things can slip through the cracks once, but three times shows a lack of attention to inventory and customer safety. Came in to buy a terp slurper, spent $90 since they only had one brand. Brought it home and it hit great but the dish fell off the next day and all the smoke shop could do was give me 30% of another of the same slurper... Then proceeded to tell me that all the juices on the shelf would likely be the same date. Seemed to not realize that was a problem and told me to take it up with his boss. I come to wild side pretty frequently and the staff is usually always very nice and they let me feel out what I want before I make any big purchases. Yesterday was different though. I went to wild side with 3 of my friends and we wanted to go shopping for a bong. There was this short man with cargo shorts and a trucker hat working that I've never seen there before and he was insanely pushy. He would not leave me and my friends alone and he wanted us to buy so many things so badly, it was actually making me and my friends very uncomfortable and we even started texting each other asking what's up with this dude and why he's being so pushy. Yeah employees will sometimes push you to get more, that's upselling, however this man was different. He just came across as desperate and I really did not appreciate how he wouldn't give us a break. There was a quick second where the store was at max capacity and there was a line outside and another employee asked if one of us would mind stepping out for just a quick second since we were a group of 3 and not everyone was buying something. My friend volunteered to step out and once she did she immediately sent me a text saying to come outside. I stepped outside and she started frantically telling me about how uncomfortable the shirt employee was making her and how he kept getting really close to her, to make matters worse he kept pulling his mask below his nose when he got close to my friend and we were just really sketched out. We've shopped at wild side multiple times before and we've never had this issue before and we've never seen this employee before too. We know he's definitely new because we're usual customers but that's what got me irritated, how do you hire employees like this? I get that new employees love to upsell because they want to prove themselves but this was just different, ESPECIALLY with the way he was acting with my friend. I have loved the deals at wild side for the longest time and I would go there frequently to pick up all my smoking essentials but honestly with this new employee I'm going to have to peak inside the store and make sure he's not there before I go inside because I genuinely did not like this employee. I will continue to shop here when he's not around, the usual employees are nothing but good to me but this was just different. read more

I've been here twice and had a great experience. The two guys that work there are friendly and helpful. I purchased glass cleaner and a pipe in the past and both worked great. Today I went in and bought a digital scale only to find it defective when I first opened it. I went back within an hour of purchase to explain to them that they sold me something that doesn't work but it didn't matter. They explained to me that all sales are final and that I would have to use the warranty associated with the company. I wish they would have handled it differently and at least exchanged it or refunded me. I don't think I'll be going back if they are going to be selling defective products. read more
