[49/100] SHOP LOCAL!…read more Nonette is a sweetheart! She is the Owner's Wife and was an enormous amount of help! I needed a handful of gifts and I was able to purchase 5/6 gifts here! Location, it's right in the middle of everything. There's shirts and merchandise hanging from the outside so it's super easy to find. There's another store right before it that looks similar but it's a different store. Erlinda's is the second entrance. There is so much to see. There 's a great variety of shirts for everyone in the family. There's magnets, bottle openers, jewelry, jackets, etc. I love purchasing enamel pins where ever I travel and she had plenty. They were inexpensive compared to all the other stores I visited. I visited about 3x in one day because I couldn't find anything better in variety and price. I purchased 3 shirts, a pin & postcard. My experience was great and I definitely recommend stopping by! My Mom loved her shirt and all thanks to Nonette!

How cute is that?! Originally $11.95, but with the 20% off, I paid $9.56. It is a small shop, but they have a variety and selection of shirts and other gifts. It's also nice that they take credit cards since it is such a small looking mom and pop shop. I think there was a CC min of around $5 though. The cashier that rung us up was super sweet. If not for their outside display, I would have never walked in. Thanks Erlinda for carrying such a cute onsie!

I specifically asked for at least one or more white lilies, her favorite. These are shown on their website under the Memorie bouquet. Not only were there NO lilies of any color, the bouquet looked smaller than their $70 Sympathie bouquet. I told them over the phone in April that the lilies were to be picked up by me upon my arrival and taken to my wife's final resting place and that my wife is a US Navy veteran that died by a disease the VA considers 100% service related who died June 29,2019. I consider the bouquet received to be a disrespect to my wife's memory and her service to our country for which she gave her life. I also consider it despicable that the bouquet delivered had any semblance to the bouquet I ordered. I responded to their request for review they emailed upon delivery and still have not received ANY reply from them a week later. I will never order from them again nor would I recommend this establishment to anyone.

The second time is the arrangement in the picture. I took this picture after they were delivered . Once again the flowers did not look fresh and we're already wilting after two days. My husband told me he spent over $100 on these and unfortunately I don't think the flowers are worth that price.

Russia has a significant history to Alaska and getting a bit of it's culture can sometimes come across as unexpected but as you read up on the history you acknowledge the historical influence here. For a town like Juneau learning this culture is educational and in the case of a gift shop... pleasant. I got two items here which I really enjoy. I got a Russian Pecking Paddle game which is a lot of fun to play and I got an ornament of a Russian doll which was awesome to put on the Christmas tree at home. Lots of other intriguing merchandise here reflecting Russian culture. Cool USSR t shirts and lots of wooden dolls to browse over all the way to fine jewelry makes this place (at least for us) to slow down and really appreciate and look at the unique merchandise!

Russian-American Company has five stores in Alaska and seem like the Wal-Mart of Russian tchotchke stores. Too bad they couldn't hire Yakov Smirnoff to be a greeter. Matrushkas (nesting dolls) are the thing to get at House of Russia. They also have Santas, snowmen figurines, and little wooden Christmas trees imported from Russia. They have really nice Russian ornaments. I ended up buying an ornament at Russian-American Company instead though because it was much cheaper than House of Russia's. Yes, I'm a horrible, horrible person.

A Hidden Gem in Downtown Juneau…read more If you're visiting Juneau and want to discover something beyond the typical tourist stops, make time for this local business downtown. It's the kind of place that feels like a well-kept local secret--and absolutely worth finding. The owners are genuinely honest, kind, and welcoming, and their prices are refreshingly fair. What really stood out to me was the quality. You're not looking at flimsy, mass-produced tourist trinkets here--you'll find quality items that feel thoughtfully chosen and worth bringing home. For visitors who want a souvenir with a little more character and substance, this is a place I'd strongly recommend. Supporting a small local business while finding something special makes the experience even better. Skip the ordinary tourist shops and seek out the local gem. Your wallet--and the business owners--will thank you. Juneau is better when travelers support the people who make this town special.

I understand expecting customers to be respectful of merchandise, but accidents happen--especially in a tourist gift shop that welcomes families and children. I've traveled extensively and have never been treated this way over a low-cost souvenir item. What stood out wasn't the money, but the pettiness and complete lack of customer service. A business that values its customers would have handled the situation with a little grace and understanding. Instead, they chose to make us feel unwelcome and embarrassed over a piece of plastic worth very little. There are plenty of souvenir shops that appreciate their customers. I'd recommend spending your money elsewhere.
