The biggest challenge is accountability. The school is not held to any specific standards for accountability and even though the board of trustees job is to uphold Waldorf values and strengths, the current group of adults lacks the integrity and they do not do their research. Prairie Moon holds prejudices against teachers and students who are different and/or vulnerable. Prairie Moon allows children to be bullies at the school so long as their parents have money. Prairie Moon is an elitist school which uses adults until they find out that those adults want for the school to be held responsible for their actions. Prairie Moon lacks compassion and understanding and there is unwillingness to accept responsibility and provide support for students who have high behavioural needs, they do not provide sufficient support, training or resources to teachers when they need it. Prairie Moon School does not teach respect or have respect for the privacy of other. As a teacher I was made to be available and accessible to all other faculty at all times of day and night. One teacher even went as far as giving my personal address to families that I worked with when I asked her not to. If you are a worker under the age of 25 you are also treated poorly and used. The administration came to my home on several occasions when I worked there after being asked to stop. I worked hard, I was a good teacher and I spoke up when there were wrong doings at the school. In the end when I had to leave they acted like there was no room for growth within the school. As it is, it is hanging my a thread and it should not be in operation.

It is being poorly ran, the director and assistant director act clueless and the people they are hiring are unqualified to be around kids. I was unclear if some of the teachers even like kids with how poorly they treat them. My grandson was not properly integrated into the daycare on his first couple weeks, they ignored him while he was scared and new and balling his eyes out. There is no kind of nurturing that is provided from the teachers. Some of the teachers are cold and mean to the kids. The kids are unsupervised at times and climb the walls and stand on bookshelves, things that could lead to injuries. They also hit each other while the teachers pay no mind. The food offerings are gross and no effort is put into the food-at all. He would have poopy diapers when we would pick him up. They will leave your kid staring at the wall for over 2 hrs at nap time and give them no attention at all. They have live video and it made my stomach turn to watch how poorly he was being cared for, hence why I removed him as quickly as possible. I voiced my concerns and made it clear I was angry and unhappy with their care and Sydney (the director) never attempted to address any of it or even acknowledge it. Do not leave your child here. All you have to do is watch the live video feed and in one day, you'll be appalled at how this place is operating. I honestly don't know how they have any clients at this point. We found an amazing daycare since then and now we can have peace of mind our little guy is getting his needs met while in daycare. Corporate needs to get involved and do something about the 6th St La Petite.

They have been very flexible with a part time schedule, even when we needed to change our days every now and then. I have some dietary requests that they met with no problems and no attitude. Jeri Dawn the owner, is hands-on, and an incredible leader, she cares deeply about her staff and the children her in school. When choosing a school for my daughter, I researched every school from Lenexa, Overland Park, Leawood, Martin, City, Shawnee, and all surrounding areas. I had interviews with all the schools in those areas, and this Goddard completely stood out. The school is clean, the teachers are knowledgeable and patient, and the school Chef, Larry is exceptional-to the point that any days I do early pick up my daughter requests I get her after lunch. I am extremely mindful and choosing where my daughter spends her day. This is one of those gems in our community. There was no incident report given to us. We asked her teacher what happened, she said she doesn't know. She said that she can't keep track of all 14 children in her room and it is not her fault that my 2 year old was hurt. There were 299 people in my graduating class and I knew most of them fairly well. I was very active in drama and forensics at STA. The coaches and teachers are funny, caring, and positive. I still keep in touch with them. STA is really well-known for their soccer team as well- I think they've won nationals or come close to it every year for the past 8 years! WOOO I also feel like my teachers really cared about my growth and performance as a student. I always felt safe at the school. It's a great place to grow up and learn!

The school is full of bright kids who work hard, athletes who compete with all the other strong programs, and students dedicated to service who care for others. Sure, it's cheaper. Ms Whitney and Ms Gina in the front office are WONDERFUL. They always greet you with a smiling face and are always telling me about the silly things that my son did or said that day. My son loves his teachers and he feel comfortable and safe with them. I feel good leaving my child with them, which is worth it's weight in gold. However, There seems to be a high turnover rate for Directors (at least 4 in 3 years that I can recall) and I can only chalk that up to a poor District Manager.

During that time, we noticed several concerning issues with the facility and how it's managed: * The building was often dirty, with visible flies and gnats in the kitchen. * The teachers seemed unprofessional, not maintaining personal cleanliness, and appeared more focused on babysitting than educating the children. * Children were frequently unstructured and sometimes left outside in very cold temperatures. * The staff rarely answered the phone and seemed generally lazy in their responsibilities. * The facility sometimes had unpleasant odors. Based on our experience, I'm honestly surprised the center is still open. I would caution parents and potential employees to carefully consider this before getting involved.

IF YOUR KIDS ARE IN THE TWOS ROOM OR AT THIS FACILITY IN GENERAL PLEASE REMOVE THEM IMMEDIATELY. This was our last week after only 3 months in their care because it has been unbelievably bad and making multiple reports. I was expecting to talk to the Director about an injury that happened in their care and that's why I was recording. As I was about to leave, the fire alarm starting going off and since I already have issues with ALL of the teachers (minus infant teachers) I went back to see what my Daughters teacher would do. In the Twos room, this teacher was standing there. Frozen. Picked up a crying child and looked around. I stood at the gate watching her and that's when I asked if she knew what her fire drill was. SHE SAID NO AND THAT SHE HAD NO CLUE WHAT TO DO. A passing teacher says it is not a drill and I say that's my Point and why I was asking. IF YOU ARE TAKING CARE OF KIDS YOU BETTER DAMN WELL KNOW WHAT TO DO IN AN EMERGENCY
