Well, now I've been here for over 3 years and couldn't be happier. Though management staff have changed more often than I'd like, Chelsea has remained and is, hands down, the BEST management person I've ever had: in Washington or previously in California. She goes above-and-beyond, whether it's registering a different car or arranging for maintenance or repairs. I truly appreciate her help, kindness, and being able to work with her. read more

Oh boy!!! prepare yourself mentally for the ride that you will be receiving. There is no privacy whatsoever. When Management tells you they need to come in they'll come in whenever they feel like it.. They have no respect no privacy for you. They are not prompt when needed. And unprofessional example, when I called to ask a question about an appointment, the agent in the facility name Brooke laughed. I get an email from the property management explaining to me, the situation, the property management states, that only Maintenance or Management will go in to the home, but that's a lie. They have third-party vendors strangers coming to your home, I have a video camera what's going on? The third-party vendor decided to rummage through my stuff, looking for I don't know what I felt, violated and disrespected by all the parties involved. Therefore, I will give them a zero. read more

Worst rental experience ever. Staff is unresponsive and unprofessional. Massive ant issues all over the complex as well as untrained maintenance staff. Staff does not deal with disruptive neighbors and trash piles up. For almost $2500 a month for a 2 bedroom you'd expect better service and standards. In one year, we had broken toilets, ants, the fireplace back up into our apartment, broken floor tiles, sink issues several times and neighbors upstairs that were so loud and stomped so much our fire alarms fell off the ceiling. Upon move out the manager was so disdainful we told her to just go ahead and send us a bill for the 3 drips we left in the fridge and the paint touch ups. I would rather pay money than stay in that place one more minute with the rude, untrained manager that made a 3:15 appointment with me and made me wait and eventually come get her instead of her showing up for our move out. read more

The staff is not knowledgeable but acts like they are they are not caring. Wilderness Village Apartments has a serious problem with car theft and vandalism and dose nothing about it when my vehicle was stolen they wanted nothing to do with it and the officer called the apartment a hot spot in talking to other residents I found it's a big problem that the apartment ignores. I wish someone had shared this with me I should have checked yelp after moving in I did and it was to late I was trapped in a year lease! read more

Everyone was very helpful, nice and professional. Always had a good time when I stopped in the office just to chat. I should say, when my dog wanted to go in to chat.... get a treat. Christina was beyond exceptional, always has a smile and helped with anything. read more

I'd leave zero stars if I could. The office manager is a condescending, rude, and the whole I'm better than you attitude. When you come in the office with a question or problem she seems annoyed and bothered. The maintenance guys incompetent, lazy, and the mangers little spy's. The gates always broken, pool never works in the summer, landscaping and property upkeep is embarrassing. The outdoor fire alarms are always broken and constantly beeping, cars are stolen/broken into constantly, your lucky if you're able to park near your apartment no reserved parking except for the limited covered spots. Very outdated apartments, and very very overpriced for what you actually get. If they weren't to busy trying to find the smallest of violation's then maybe the broken things around here could be fixed. The first year under old management was great clean, friendly, and maintenance guys were prompt, knowledgeable and friendly. Now everyone's rude, condescending and just seem to treat you like a lesser. The change in management has definetly effected the overall appearance and atmosphere of the complex. If the slum lord and her minions were to leave I guarantee the property would improve immensely. Don't be fooled by this slum lords appearance when trying to rent apartment once your a resident your inferior and don't matter anymore. I'd say more things about her but my mother said if you have nothing nice to say then don't say anything. read more

I have been living here for just over a year, and my kids and I love it here. My kids are Huge fans of the pool, and living so close to so many friends. I love how big and spacious my apartment feels. But what really makes me happy is having a kitchen that is quite large with plenty of prep space. read more

Having lived and/or co-signed for many different apartments for my daughters, this location is by far the best place they have lived. Yes, Rent is a bit high for what we would like to spend and would love to see it a bit less but our safety is on managements heightened awareness. Clean and groomed grounds. Management is beyond helpful and so easy to work with. Rita, is my absolute favorite person to work with, very genuine and always follows through on her word.!!! read more

I've been living here for about a month now and I absolutely love this place! I moved from out of state which I thought would be hard but the management at Wilderness Village made it so easy and were so kind through the whole process! The apartment is so cute, there's so much space and it has everything you need, the complex and the surrounding area are clean and quiet, the people here are so nice, and it's so close by the shopping centers for those quick little grocery trips! Beware! Severe issues with this property... -Parking is a huge issue. I often had to park on the other side of the property and walk (kids, groceries, etc), and a couple times off of the property. In addition, some cars literally have chains around them to prevent theft. Forget about getting on the wait list for a spot or garage. -Rarely a "Gated community" because the gate was hardly operable and is open most of the time. -Get ready for noisy neighbors, and noise complaints do not get resolved. -Upon move in, found the unit was not too clean, I had to clean it before I put things away. GROSS! -Took MULTIPLE times to complete work orders-I had to call often to follow up on status and remind work had not been complete. -What was nice is they do keep the landscaping and property cleanliness up. -Neighbors had no regard for other peoples property, while cleaning windows, I watched someone hit another car with no regard. -Office staff is very nice to your face, but incompetent and it gets irritating. -Smelt marijuana often and complaints were never resolved. -Couldn't leave windows open too much because cigarette or marijuana smoke would come in. Complaints never resolved. -Pool is often not open in the summer (for various reasons) -Ended up moving out fairly quickly and left the apartment move in ready, and they charged full price of cleaning (even when I had to clean the apartment before I moved in). -Keep a close eye on your documents with them. I caught many things they tried to charge me on and got corrected due to their error. -I liked the ability to use the work out room whenever I wanted, with a deposit of a card key. However, watch out make sure you get your deposit back. I had to remind them. Save yourself the headache and look for a home elsewhere, they are ridiculous and completely unreasonable. read more

My boyfriend and I lived at Wilderness Village for about 10 months and the quality of the apartments and the management were good. However, we were very frustrated with how misleading their management and policies were during the move-out process. At the beginning of our lease, we submitted the $250 damage deposit, and our written lease led us to believe that the deposit would be returned to us in full as long as there was no damage or dirtiness at move-out. We spent multiple days cleaning the apartment and ensuring that it was as clean as the day we had moved in. We received our move-out summary a week later and found out that we were only getting back ~$50 out of the $250 damage deposit. The management told us after we called to complain that it is legally required for the complex to hire their own cleaning services and they charged us ~$200 out of our damage deposit to cover this cost. I completely understand this law, but they should have explained this when we first signed the lease and they should not call the $250 deposit as damage, since we got a fraction of it back even though the management recorded on our paperwork that they found NO damage or dirtiness in our apartment. Since this is something the apartment complex is legally required to do, this should coming out of their own pocket and not out of our damage deposit. We called to demand all of our refund back, but there is one extremely vague sentence in our lease that is a "catch-all" and covers their backs. So, despite the days of cleaning and the fact that there was no reason for them to charge us for any damage or dirtiness, we lost $200. They need to be much more transparent about this and they even admitted that it was misleading language in the lease. read more

I'm a current resident here and I wouldn't recommend these apartments to anyone. I moved here about 4 months ago and so far I don't have anything good to say about them. When I came to sign the lease I asked to see one of the apartments and the one that I saw definitely wasn't like the one I got. The one that I got had a big stain in the middle of the living room and when I asked if that was going to get removed they just told me that they weren't going to spend $1000 to get it done. Even though they aren't willing to fix it I'm sure they still charged the previous resident for the damage. About a week later I called because that same stain had a bad smell whenever I would vacuum over it and they told me they would have maintenance call me back and to this point no one has gotten back to me. The shower definitely wasn't as clean either. Another thing to be aware of is that if for some reason you get locked out they won't do anything to help you if it happens after hours. I don't know if this is the case for every apartment in WA, but it is the first apartment I've encounter that treats their residents this way. Overall the management personnel is just the worse I've encounter. Some of the ladies that work in the office are pretty respectful and nice but the main manager, Cherie (or however you spell her name), just doesn't seem to care about anything. If you have a choice I would recommend staying away from this apartments. read more

Very nice property. A place I was glad to call home for 2 years. I stayed in the saner apartment my entire time there. There were a couple of issues with my garbage disposal and my toilet once. However management was quick to have it fixed. And the maintenance man was very friendly every time. And always made sure to smile and wave when seeing him elsewhere on the property. I've never had such a bad experience in my life.... all we dealt with here was pipes constantly bursting and mold in the bathroom and kitchen. You can hear everything that goes on in the apartment above you as well, every step they take, When they turn the sink on, shower, if they flush the toilet it's loud enough to wake you up.... The mold issue started about a month after move in, it was in the bathroom above the shower. Figured it was just because there are no windows in there. That came in and cleaned it up after I had called the office four times with no reply... It came back days later along with water dripping from the ceiling ( which they didn't see so they didn't seem to believe us). They cleaned it again. I finally got them in as it was dripping from the ceiling, they cut a giant hole in our ceiling and found a broken pipe in there leaking down all the walls. It was fixed days later. They didn't clean up any of the mess they had made. There was Sheetrock dust all over my bathroom. I cleaned it myself. Next we came home to our kitchen and dining room under and inch of water. We turned off the water and they came in and " fixed it" which they really just taped ( yes literally taped) a piece of wood up where they cut a hole..... As WE WERE CLEANING UP THE WATER, we found a GIANT PATCH OF BLACK MOLD BEHIND OUR STOVE. It was probably three feet wide by a foot high.... They came in and cut the Sheetrock out ( no ventilation was happening during this, they barely cleaned behind the Sheetrock) and yes I watched them the whole way. All the while we are still living in this apartment. Not proper way to take care of that much mold. We were never offered any compensation for our issues. They then put a dehumidifier in, and fans under the dining room carpet ( yes this killed our power bill, still no compensation offered). Those were there for weeks. A Carpet guy came in and sprayed the carpet and put it back down, still wet, I'm sure that's molding too. While cleaning my apartment I found even more mold under the kitchen sink from the last pipe that leaked ( obviously they can't figure out how to properly clean up after a leak) We are still being charged for carpet cleaning on move out ( which they REALLY should be paying for after the amount of mold in there) as well as clean up...... This was the worst place I could have ever chosen to live. They were not helpful, it was not safe (I have medical bills to prove it) , they don't clean up properly, they never offered any compensation. I would never recommend this place as a place to live or raise a family ESPECIALLY for the price. This review doesn't even touch on everything bad about these apartments. The most important thing to us was feeling safe in our apartment and that management could be trusted. We were ignored when we requested copies of our file. Were not given receipts, when requested. And were charged at move out for previous tenant damage that had not been repaired. Maintenance concern items were never fixed right. Unless they change their way of doing business, I will never recommend them in the future. Not a pleasant living experience for overpriced apartments. Like most managers, she will most likely seem ok at first because she is needing to fill a vacant apartment. But after you move and have issues with rent for instance. Good luck trying to get her to show any sympathy for you. Her name is Kalena. She in my opinion does not have very good customer service skills. Not much of a people person. The rent is market based. Your rent does go up every new lease cycle. And this complex is right off of a very busy Maple Valley Hwy. I would find something in Covington, Renton, Fairwood. I have been renting for almost eight years and this is the first time ever I've given five stars for an apartment after I moved out. Ritta and Cassie along with others in the office are real people who understand renters' situations. I had to recently move out before my lease expired. I was going through a lot at the time I decided to pay $3200 for breaking the lease (per our contract.) Ritta and her team not only advised me the other option ( buy back) but also worked really hard to make sure my unit is rented sooner than later. I eventually ended up paying rent for only 19 days plus cleaning fee. I also noticed that their move out assessment was very fair and rational as compared to my experience in last eight years. I strongly recommend this apartment community to everyone The management have reminded me there are still businesses and managements who truly care about their clients.
