The best word to describe this place is.... Whimsical. If you are looking for "unique" this is the right place for you. It starts at arrival where you park, grab a key, and use a cart to take your belongings on a short walk into the woods. The cabins are close proximity to each other but are situated in a way that allows privacy. The guest cabins are thoughtfully decorated and equipped with plenty of extra like a wine opener, a lighter for candles, plush bath robes. The romantic ambiance is easily set if that is your goal. Another short walk up a trail leads to the Guest Hall which is a comfy setting with an amazing view of the ocean. Here you will find a full kitchen at your disposal complete with cookware, spices, and some common items in the fridge. Share a meal in the spacious setting or out on the deck. When you head back to your cabin don't forget to check out the extensive DVD collection. We found everything from classics like "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir" to popular Rom-Com and new releases. We borrowed several 80's classics that we hadn't seen in forever! The DVD collection can be found in the bathroom, which might sound weird but you will see when you get here that there is no space wasted in this thoughtful eco-friendly lodge. While in the bathroom be sure to check out the sink. Another detail of imaginative whimsy that depicts the creativity of the owner. Oh, do not forget to flip through a table book that recounts the history of WildSpring. It is a story filled with romance, dreams, and heartache that includes pictures of life realized. And, I cannot forget the attraction of the spa and gazebo! Set amidst the trees and driftwood sits an open air hot tub overlooking the tree line and ocean. The truly amazing thing is that it requires an appointment, meaning it's not overcrowded, you get the luxury of enjoying the relaxing experience sans strangers. It's a simple text to the host to check for availability for an hour soak. Other amenities are EV charging, radiant heated floors, roomy shower, a decent continental breakfast spread, and priceless peace and quiet amidst the old growth forest. The whimsy of the place comes with the decor spread through the walking paths. Hidden among ferns are sculptures, a walking labyrinth, meditation alcoves, creations of all sorts. Everywhere you look is a whimsical touch that makes you feel the great pride and artistic talents of the owner. It's awe inspiring if you take the time to appreciate it. One thing to note: not a great place to get work done, although I'm not sure why anyone would want to. There is wifi, but we found that most of the time it wasn't enough service to even send a text message. But, we were cool with that! This is a place to enjoy being unplugged. We have stayed here twice. In the same cabin, by chance, and have loved it. This last time, in October, we had the place to ourselves in the middle of a classic coastal storm. The wind howled at the Guest Hall and we stood and howled with it. We also got the privilege of thunder and lightning that rolled off the cliffs and gave a haunting view of the forest and sea. Absolutely beautiful zen-like, secluded getaway in a forest-like setting and view of the ocean from the breakfast area. We had cabin #1, the dog-friendly room. It was decorated with cute whimsical items throughout the room, including little bowls and plates with agates (that I suspect were found locally from Agate Beach?). I had to tuck some of the breakables safely away so our golden retriever's wagging tail wouldn't knock anything over! I would recommend this place as a retreat if you are looking to get away from it all. Bring a book, lie in the hammock, walk through the forested short walking trails on the property and enjoy the little sculptures and other whimsical art throughout the grounds, reserve a time to soak in the hot tub and look out at the ocean and listen to the sound of the waves. At night sit out on the deck near the hot tub and look up at the night sky- so many stars, you can see the Milky Way! As I was walking to breakfast in the morning, I was surprised to see a buck just 50 feet away from me! He looked at me and I looked at him and then he sauntered away. That was cool. We paid the extra fees so that our 2 adult teen daughters could join us, so we had 2 extra pull out twin sofas for them to sleep on. They were pretty comfy for pullout sofas! But I will comment so others know- 4 people and a golden retriever is pretty darn squishy for one cabin! It also gets expensive with the extra fees for 2 extra people and a dog! Having said that, my young adult children loved this place so it was worth the squishing. They loved that they could hang out in the guest habitat (is that the right name for it?), which was the main room where breakfast is served. They have games and chess and checkers and relaxing music playing. It's secluded and quiet and I don't think they ran into any other guests while they were there. Breakfast was a very simple offering of bread (choice of bagels, croissant, or English muffin), jam, peanut butter or Nutella, hard boiled egg, instant oatmeal packages, yogurts, juices, tea, coffee, and cereal, and some basic fruit (apples, oranges, bananas). Snacks were just microwaveable popcorn and some Hershey Kisses and little mints. I appreciated their to-go bag every morning that had protein bars, a granola bar, mandarin oranges, some chocolate, and babybel cheese. If I had to offer any suggestions, I would have loved a little more variety with the breakfast and snacks (uh-for the price that we paid . . .). Maybe some fresh muffins and pastries, and a fresh fruit salad for breakfast, maybe some fresh baked cookies for snack? I just kept looking around their nice, super organized kitchen area thinking that there must be something else to nosh on! Got a cup of tea instead. And just to share an alternate perspective, my husband felt that there was not much to do here, breakfast was too basic, and Port Orford was too quiet. He also had read all of the dog rules and felt very constrained by them and was afraid to let our dog go anywhere or do anything for fear of losing the $200 security deposit. He was super careful and we got our deposit back, but I took a star away because of the way my husband felt about the place. (Bring your girlfriends and leave the husband and dog at home?) read more

My wife and i stayed in cabin #3, Annwyn, for two nights in May, 2022. It was a stopover on our drive from British Columbia to northern California. In the past, on the same drive, we stayed at motels in the area such as the Sure Stay in Gold Beach. Staying at WildSpring was a far better experience than the motels. We found the owners, Michelle and Dean, to be extremely accommodating and friendly. WildSpring is obviously--as evidenced by the intentionality, care, and attention to detail which are apparent everywhere on the property--the culmination of a years-long commitment and dream. Our cabin was immaculately clean, had a very cozy bed, and a beautiful tile walk-in shower. The hot tub, shared with other guests but reservable for private use, is in a gorgeous setting with ocean view; is large, clean, without chlorine smell, and set to the perfect temperature. The procedures for check-in and check-out were clear and were welcome. Guidelines, such as those discouraging late checkout, were totally understandable considering the size of the cabins and the time required for the obviously excellent cleaning crew to turn over the rooms. The only downside of the forested location for us was that except for short strolls on the property, we were not aware of any walking paths accessing the beach or town. A short drive on a winding shoulder-less (but paved) highway was required. Having said that, the beach, town, and an excellent seafood restaurant, Redfish, is a three minute drive away. WildSpring is an excellent retreat for writers or others seeking a meditative, quiet place to escape the stress and noise of the city. We plan to return soon. read more

Run - do not walk - here! This place is simply amazing. A much needed tranquil little getaway for some over-worked northern Californians! We were looking for a place on the Oregon Coast that was not your typical "hotel by the ocean vibe" (somewhere without the annoying upstairs/ next door neighbors): We found it! A lovely little 1-bedroom cottage (1 of 5) in the south Oregon coast woods of Port Orford on a beautifully tranquil property that has been transformed into a magical little retreat ... Our cottage was perfect! Charmingly appointed and romantic. Had everything we needed to have two gloriously relaxing days including - nicely furnished living room area with two cozy love seats, a comfortable queen bedroom with mini fridge and a television that played DVDs (they even had a selection of probably 2000 DVDs to borrow from the game room/ guest hall) and a beautifully appointed bathroom with updated bowl sink on slate vanity and a gorgeous stone / tile shower big enough for for two. The grounds are whimsical, well-planned, interesting and well-lit. There is a common Cabin / guest hall that overlooks the ocean where you eat breakfast (lovely selections) and can enjoy some games (lots to choose from) or purchase some beautiful handmade jewelry. We hung out and played some cards after a lovey breakfast, gazing out at the ocean and morning fog. Breakfasts are fantastic with Michelle's homemade brunch dishes! Upon entry to the property there is an adorable welcome stand with instructions and a barrel full of umbrellas to borrow for your stay in the case of rain (our trip had rain all weekend, but we didn't care ... The light coastal fog made the rockier parts of the ocean views even more stunning)! Note: look at a map to see that this place has a lovely ocean view even though it is not right on the beach or bluffs ... You don't need it - it's less than a long football throw away, you can hear the crashing surf and it's totally worth the peaceful sleep from not being right on the 101. Try Griff's on the dock in Port Orford for excellent seafood, Tasty Kate's for great coffee and pastries (Port Orford) & travel north 30 min to Bandon and check out Old Town ... and definitely try a fabulous Mexican restaurant called Rancho Viejo (Bandon). Oh and just stop anywhere along the coast for the most breathtaking views! So many beaches - so many stunning viewpoints! We will definitely be back and highly recommend to everyone! read more

Three stars for the location, and the cabin. Michelle, who seems to be the one who handles the reservations, sounds happy and pleasant when you speak to her. The guy(I started calling him Chad) has what I can only describe as underlying aggression and an attitude that I could really do without at over $250 a night. Ie; there are many rules/protocols/recommendations and guidelines for your stay here. You receive a package when you arrive and a 1-1 1/2" ring binder in your cabin. It sets the tone and makes you on guard to not do anything against policy. We went to the spa thinking there would be towels there as there were no towels *designated* for the spa in the room, only two each for two days in the room and they were nice towels-No Way was I taking those to the spa. We found no towels there and I had to call the office. Dean ("Chad") explained there were towels in our bathroom. I asked if there were other than the white ones and he said no-I said I didn't know we were supposed to use those as they were nice and I had read the whole manual trying to find the 'towel rule'. He huffed and said he'd bring towels to the spa. When he arrived he acted like there was something wrong with ME. All their guidelines had me walking on eggshells and I explained that. He did not listen to what I was saying, just acted like it was stupid to not want to use our bathroom towels at the spa and then reuse them after we took a shower. The bottom of the spa had an easy inch or more of pine needles in the bottom and the jets made it all get stirred up. It felt like walking barefoot on the forest floor. Lastly, as far as cleaning, the bath exhaust vent is completely covered with lint/fuzz and cannot remove air or humidity from the air. It's a fire hazard along with just being gross. (I've been in property management 30 years so, yeah, I know). And finally, if you're giving people chocolates, give them fresh ones. The desiccated, chalky thing they left wouldn't have tempted me on a 10 day fast. What sticks out most is really how "Chad"/Dean made me feel. There's a couple phone calls I had with him after my reservations that had made me pause, but I had scratched it up to bad days on his part....You know, I had waited some 10 years or so to come here-it was my birthday and really wanted to treat myself. It was just a letdown. I feel like Chad (Dean) should retire with his negativity. I'm sure this review will receive a reactive, defensive answer, like all their other low review ratings. read more

Very nice, relaxing retreat. Guests are in five, uniquely decorated cabins located in a pine forest with plenty of private space and outdoor artworks. There is also a central guest house for breakfast and coffee/tea snacks, and a hot tub with ocean view -- great at night to see stars and sunset. I I felt it was like "glamping," and enjoyed my three night stay. It also felt safe, given covid issues. They have a nice "to go" bag full of breakfast bars and a piece of chocolate. Wildspring was the PERFECT end to our anniversary! We are so glad that Dean and Michelle chose to share their oasis with the world. Everything from the divinely manicured the labyrinth to the hot tub (overlooking the ocean!) is designed for comfort, meditation, and romance. At every turn, we discovered a new statue, or a small bird house, or an intricate carving. The wifi worked everywhere we walked along the grounds. The shared guest house had a gigantic selection of movies, books, and games. And the breakfast was perfect -- healthy, but still decadent and divine. The cabins were equally gorgeous, and felt especially quiet and secluded. The floor had radiant heat and the robes were thick and heavy. The room also included a spa-like bathroom, a mix of relaxation music, cozy chairs and blankets, plus romantic candles throughout. Perfect for a long nap or meditation, and I'd imagine it would be great for a honeymoon. Next time, I will be sure to book the in-room massage! So it has taken me a few years to review this place--mostly because it disturbed me how I was treated by the owners. First off, the grounds are beautiful and cabins very nice. The breakfasts with a view were great too. What made me completely shift my opinion of this place is what happened after I left. The owners obviously do not understand the mere facts of life for women. My husband and I went on our first trip alone after having our first baby. I had just finished breastfeeding and the last morning of our 5 night stay I awoke to having started my menstrual cycle overnight. When I checked my credit card bill I noticed an extra $300 charge from Wild Spring. I called them and the husband first went off on me saying how gross it was that I bled on their bed and that it was a cleaning fee because I guess they don't use mattress protectors. I then asked to speak to his wife (thinking she would be more understanding) and she proceeded to be even ruder to me and told me that I was trying to hide the fact that I started my period and that I was lucky they weren't charging me for a brand new mattress. Anyways, my opinion of this place is that the vibe they're trying to put out with the beautiful grounds is great, but their energy does not match the beauty of the grounds. Go somewhere else. UPDATE-- the owners response was a lie. I definitely did not soak urine or blood into a couch. It was literally just me starting my period over night. Also, I did not flee the scene at all. I did not see the owners husband as I was walking out. Just like I barely saw them the entire time I was there. I'm also a 30 year old woman--since when do people urinate overnight. She is literally just trying to make me sound bad so that people don't see how this place actually is. read more

My fiancé and I stayed at the WildSpring Guest Habitat for albeit one night over the summer in the #5 "Earthsea" cabin/guestroom. I should've known that this place yes, is tranquil and peaceful and has lots of amenities for guests. However! I should have noticed this small detail (it's always in the little details that make or break it in life). The property is 92978 Cemetery Loop off the Highway 1 and tucked up on the hill (hence the views and the privacy). When writing a review of a place positively or negatively, there are generally two umbrella categories: setting (including grounds, cleanliness of rooms, etc. etc.) and the people who service the place to where we are staying (including, service, attentiveness, etc. etc.) We caution that the WildSpring Guest Habitat is located .5 mile away from guess what? Yes, a cemetery, that was my first mistake when traveling with people who are really bothered by and disturbed by proximity to graves. There are some people who "feel" spirits and then there are those of us who sometimes are, and are empathetic to those individuals who feel unnerved and bothered by spirits, ghosts, and omens. There is also a third category of those who don't. This was an issue when I called the owners of this resort and explained to them that we were uncomfortable with 1, the proximity to the cemetery and addressed the issue of feeling bothered and creeped out about the decorations and religious items in the room, the owners were dismissive and (if I might say) offended. They responded that the cemetery is .5 mile away. If readers take the time to read some of the other reviews on Tripadvisor and then the responses from the owners, some of them (in my opinion seem defensive in the tone of their reply). We felt so uncomfortable even though we arrived on the property well past midnight, we were going to stay up all night and watch DVDs and play board games. The owners were not sympathetic did not do anything to assuage our stay. On top of being bothered by spirits and ghosts the cabin/guest room that we stayed (along with the property itself) is adorned with religious artifacts and items. The property is adorned with weird and creepy figures, and statues, that for us is negative and is distracting from what this property could be without these figures and statues: Peaceful, tranquil, and lovely. Notably, the guestroom/cabin that we stayed in is adorned with religious photos, icons, and other weird and honestly creepy items that cluttered up the room and made it even more uncomfortable to rest and sleep in (I have posted photos of said items that made us feel uncomfortable.) Checking-into the guestroom was seamless, as there are mailboxes with corresponding numbers on them and with keys, a map of the property and highlighting a path from check-in to your guest room and other reading materials about reservation information and such. If you also need them, they provide carts to put your luggage in and then wheel to your guestroom because the road/walkway is gravel path. (some people might complain, others might not). There were also some positives in staying at Wildspring Guest Habitat. If we had arrived earlier, we would've liked to use the outdoor hot tub/jacuzzi. We would've also wanted to have partaken in some of the snacks that are provided. Some of the little touches that we did enjoy were the choice for board games, DVD's, and warm beverages like coffee, teas, and hot chocolate. Overall, WildSpring Guest Habitat for the $300 spent on a room, and yes there were excellent amenities. Because of the lack of empathy for guests who genuinely feel uncomfortable with the proximity to the cemetery, and genuinely feel uncomfortable being surrounded by the religious and downright weird feeling from the pictures, statues, and other décor in the room and in and around the property. For us the next time we are in the area, we will press on driving and stay somewhere's else. read more

I wish I had read some of the lousy reviews on other sites before paying our non refundable $280 . Besides the fact that we are micromanaged at every turn from how to use the luggage cart to how clean up, these people are NOT HANDICAP FRIENDLY!!! My boyfriend had one leg. It's an obvious handicap. All I wanted was one night where we could relax in the hot tub. We had issue with the broken safety railing, broken tiles (center towards back) and only 3 of the 8 jets in the hot tub working. Even the ADA parking is the same as any other parking and a wheel chair would definitely have an issue navigating to the broken hot tub. Anyway We are pretty chill people and afte 4 days of camping I just wanted my boyfriend to relax before he goes back to his rigorous job where he also helps people who have lost their limbs. So even though there were some obvious safety issues, we pushed through with a smile! This is the main issue: No one has ever questioned us about our service dogs. My boyfriend has a visible disability. We carry our paperwork with us but have never had an issue in restaurants or hotels. Dean (owner) came to our cabin that clearly has a do not disturb sign (I was naked in the bathroom) and harassed us about the dogs. My boyfriend was clear with what specific actions. He wears a prosthetic when going to breakfast and walking to the tub. Anyway we were literally on our way out and told them that. It was check out time. But Dean said he would he back. We were packing to go and he came back to harass again (within minutes). Let me also be clear that Dean assumed we did not have the paperwork rather than ask kindly to see the cards and doctors notes we carry with us. He put us on the defense instantly coming to our cabin just as we were leaving the place. We left and they proceeded to send us an email threatening us and giving us an exhausting scolding of how it's a federal offence to not have real service animals. Umm... seriously? So my one legged boyfriend needs to prove that he has a disability? The letter also insinuated that our dogs "barked repeatedly" This is a flat out lie. They are trained to alert us if someone is coming because as you can imagine if an intruder were to come to say your cabin in the woods with a "do not disturb sign" my boyfriend would need a minute to get himself his crutches. Also they claimed that we were hiding the animals. We were not hiding them. We had their service harnesses and they were with my boyfriend when he approached our cabin area outside. This establishment is one that there is a self check in station. Had they had a front desk they would have seen us and the working dogs. The whole experience made us very upset but we wanted to leave it behind. The disturbing email did not let us forget and just made it worse which is why I decided to write this review. If you are not handicapped be aware that for almost $300 they will micromanage your every move. There are a bunch of rules about not cooking certain foods and cleaning up after yourself and how to load the dishwasher for them. This place is not relaxing and a total rip off. It's so unfortunate. We could have gone to a beautiful resort but instead we had a horrible and offensive experience. read more

I can't express how magical this place is! It's like a little piece of heaven. My sister and I were there this week (mid-week), and felt like we almost had the place to ourselves. The other guests we did meet were lovely. The grounds were utterly enchanting, the beds and bedding were super comfy, the breakfast spread was perfect (we are both vegan and our needs were more than met and surpassed), the hot tub with a view of the ocean was gorgeous, the concern of Dean and Michelle that we had everything we needed was so professional, and the labyrinth was the cherry on top. Prior to going, I had just read a book entitled "Nature Fix" and I definitely felt this was a "nature fix" for both my sister and me (PS--we rolled our mats out and did yoga on the forest floor--we felt like we were having our own private yoga retreat. So dreamy!!). This place felt, on the whole, very zen, and so very soul-nourishing. Highly recommend. read more

Lovely and secluded place to take an Oregon coast vacation. My wife and I were at WildSpring Guest Habitat for 3 days and were treated like royalty. The think of details that you probably wouldn't even think of. The one that really stands out to me is they have an intercom in each cabin. Only you can start a conversation. They will not intrude on you at all unless you need something. And they are available 24/7! Free Wifi in in the woods! What a place to get some work done, if you need to. The hot tub that overlooks the ocean is soooo relaxing. The sunsets are gorgeous! Hot, made-to-order breakfast every morning. You want something? Mark it on their breakfast menu and Michelle will cook it up special, just for you. So much more! You'll love your vacation here! read more

My fiancée and I had gotten engaged the day before, and arrived at WildSpring on Valentine's Day in the midst of a crazy winter storm. After a crazy night camping in the rain, WildSpring was the warmest, most welcome respite. Our cabin (Annwyn) was HUGE, with great touches like roses on the table and the wood stove prepped for a fire. The radiant heating warmed our damp feet, and made the spacious cabin feel very cozy. Despite crazy wind and rain outside, our cabin was SO quiet and dark (with the lights out) - perfect for a much needed deep sleep. We really enjoyed the guest hall - both for tea and a snack upon arrival while staring out at the storm, and the next morning for an incredible breakfast. The french toast dish with homemade berry compote was out of this world. Other things we loved: Walk-in shower with stone tile. Massage table in the cabin. Hidden artwork and sculptures throughout the grounds. Strong eco-friendly ethic. Less than a 2-minute drive to Port Orford (we strongly recommend Paula's Bistro for dinner). Amazing view from the guest hall and viewing platform, looking out over the ocean and port. We didn't have time to use the hot tub, and didn't want to break the calm with a selection of one of their hundreds of DVDs, but perhaps next time (we WILL be back). Lastly, the hosts Dean and Michelle are the type that stay out of your way if you want them to, but are incredibly sweet, welcoming, and helpful whenever you need them. My boyfriend and I traveled to the Oregon coast for a weekend getaway from June 10th-12th, 2016 and what we got here was so much more. We had the whole place to ourselves and it was as if this was our very own personal hide-away. Breakfast awaited us every morning and watching the sunset from the hot tub helped us say good night in the evening. We stayed in Cabin 2 which provided so much more than a place to rest your head. From the natural sunlight shining through the little window in the morning, to the amazing natural stone shower, the decorations throughout the cabin made this place more comfortable than being at home. The surroundings were just what we needed to get away from our daily lives and the rat race of the city. At every turn there was nothing but tranquility and peace. This place is truly an amazing hidden gem. Dean and Michelle have created such a wonderful place to just get away and unwind. It is by far the best place out there on the Coast. We feel very Blessed that they have chosen to share their little piece of Heaven with all of us. This place is definitely worth the money and the drive but please beware that once you get here you honestly will not want to leave. My husband and I stayed here for the majority of our honeymoon and it was fantastic! The grounds and our cabin were immensely peaceful and relaxing. We scoured the internet in search of the best place to start our honeymoon trek across Oregon. We happened upon the WildSpring's website and when reading through everything it seemed like the perfect place. When we arrived it far exceeded our expectations! Everything from the natural landscape, to the cabins, down to the awesome showers has been thoroughly thought out. We stayed in the cabin with the fireplace, I believe it's the Annwynn, and were very pleased with the ambiance that it provided. The cabin was, as expected, on the darker side but never once did we feel that was a negative. Again, it added to the experience. Sitting out in the hot tub at night was amazing. Being from Southern California you never can see that many stars. It was so serene just sitting there listening to the ocean. We sat out on the deck every morning with a delicious cup of coffee, read a book and occasionally looked at the beautiful ocean framed by the lush and gorgeous landscape. The breakfast was superb and everything that Dean & Michelle made came out delicious. Throughout the 3 nights we stayed there one other cabin was being occupied but different travelers that came. Never the same group but the only way we knew anyone else was there was by seeing their vehicles parked there. You really feel that you are in your own serene sanctuary. It was the most amazing place we have ever been and we can't wait to return. Thank you Dean and Michelle for taking a leap of faith to create this space. It's nice to see that instead of tearing down what was already there, you were able to work around it and play off the natural beauty that is in the moss covered rocks and 100 foot tall trees. read more

Absolutely terrible inquiry just now for our support animal, my husband and I to stay at this establishment. Legally you can not refuse a support animal and us for needing them but it's also in their best interest to handle their calls and guest inquires more professionally. To tell me right out right I am abusing the right to have our dog with paperwork at their business was rude and ignorant. Unfortunately we will have to report them for not handling it appropriately and I wouldn't ever want to stay at a place that would ever speak to anyone with special needs or disabilities so rudely! An AMAZING experience. Surreal, really. We were on a road trip from Seattle to LA, and Port Orford/Wildspring was a real highlight of the trip. Michelle and Dean (the owners) were an absolute delight. They've somehow created a fairy tale-like scene that could only be described as transcendental. Each of the 5 cabins are beautifully and impeccably decorated. The entire lot is bathed in giant trees that make you feel so secluded and secure. The common area, also beautiful, grants you gorgeous views of the Oregon coastline, as well as food and entertainment. Also, just out side is one of the biggest hot tubs I've ever seen. If you ever make it to the tiny town of Port Orford, Wildspring is a must. read more

My husband and I stayed 2 nights on our anniversary road trip and wish we would have stayed much longer! This place was exactly what we needed after being stressed out from moving. The peace, quiet and tranquil environment in the trees was amazing. Our cabin was large, nice and upgraded which made us feel like we were home. We really enjoyed our stay at Wildspring. The grounds are beautiful with small treasures scattered throughout. Our cabin was eloquent and peaceful. The hot tub overlooks the ocean. Highly recommend taking advantage of it during the evenings and mornings. Breakfast was perfect and the dining room/deck overlooks the ocean as well. Wildspring is designed to be peaceful and restorative. If you are looking for a party place to be rowdy with friends.... This in not for you. We will be back. Wildspring is a hidden gem. read more

When we booked our stay at Wildspring we were taken back by the price ($278), but since it was a special occasion, we went for it. First, let me say the accommodations, grounds, views, and hot tub were fabulous. Just incredibly beautiful and relaxing. We had the place to ourselves, so that was an added bonus. However, because there were no other guests I felt like the breakfast was warmed up leftovers. It just didn't taste fresh to me. I question this only because of the cost. At that price breakfast should have been over the top. read more

Quiet and cozy place to stay if you're passing through Port Orford Oregon! Spectacular views from the hot tub and guest dining room! The grounds are mystical and whimsical and the cabins are super comfy and beautiful. Highly recommended regardless of the fact that there's a cemetery down the road, LOL. read more

The lodging is very nice, secluded, well cared for, attractive but not luxurious. The breakfast were good, too. What wasn't impressive was the lack of friendly welcome. The hosts engaged very little with us though we were there for 4 nights, mostly alone. They seemed almost put out and certainly not pleased we were there. We've stayed at 4 and 5 star hotels for the same expense and been cared for far better. Strange. read more

This place is very expensive. It comes with a lot of rules and instructions. The hot tub is gorgeous--but it's not on all the time, you have to ask for it to be turned on. I get that it costs money and energy to heat--but... at this price, I wish they'd just put a cover on it and leave it on so I could just go, rather than feeling like I have to plan a soak. The cabins are quiet, secluded, and beautifully decorated. Everything is done very well. Breakfast was quite nice, and the communal space (where breakfast is served) is very pretty and has a great view. So, while I liked it a lot, I wanted desperately to LOVE it, because it cost so much. There are so many wonderful things to say about Wildspring, it's hard to know where to begin. The place itself is spectacular: soft earth makes for easy, quiet walking; tall trees offering just enough shade; a jacuzzi overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The cabins themselves are sweet and more than spacious enough for two. Michelle and Dean attend to every detail without ever intruding: the breakfasts are delicious (something hot and homemade every day, in addition to standard breads, beverages, fresh/dried fruits); wine glasses (with optional wine included for you) in each room--and refreshed for you the next day if used; an extensive list of dining and activity recommendations left in every cabin for reference. Great food just down the hill in Port Orford; wonderful hiking along the coast, as well. Be sure to gaze up into the trees from a hammock for a little while before departing! Cannot recommend Wildspring enough! We hope to return! read more

Every corner you look, every amenity is carefully curated and thought through. The cabins are lovely, comfortable (the most comfortable beds), warm, have great showers and cute front porches. The ground are naturally beautiful sunlight peeking through the trees as hammock are strung about across the forest. The breakfasts are to die for and everything is quality. The cozy guest house is always open and welcoming. A beautiful hot spa overlooks the ocean. This place is so peaceful. Port Orford is beautiful. Highly recommend dinner at Redfish for a special night out. We had a wonderful time! read more

A great place for relaxation - very quiet and serene. Thoughtfully decorated with art, both inside and out. An extremely cozy bed. Breakfasts were good, but not lavish. The property is removed from the ocean, but has a great view, particularly from the hot tub. Hammocks make great places for reading or just listening to nature. (There was a little noise - chain saw and traffic during the daytime.) If you're looking for lots of interaction from the hosts, this is not your place. They stay mostly invisible, except for brief encounters to check-in at breakfast. It is expensive and what you're paying for is the quiet, privacy, and comfort, not lavish breakfasts or afternoon social hours. read more

My husband and I spent two nights here right after our wedding. It was a perfect place for us to relax after a year of planning our wedding. I have no photos, mostly because I was so happy to just be relaxing I felt no need to grab my phone or camera. We loved the comfortable cabin, the great hot tub, wonderful DVD collection, and especially how quiet and peaceful the space was. The owners do a great job at making you feel welcome, while also giving you all the space you need. I only saw the owner once at breakfast, but I always knew I could contact him if I had any questions using our intercom in the cabin. We never needed him, and so we just felt like we were happily in our own private resort. Thank you so very much. Oh and go to Redfish, it's a great restaurant, they had music playing Wednesday night. We stayed for two nights on our mini honeymoon after our wedding. What a perfect place to relax after the craziness was over! The breakfasts were great, and though they make you think it's just continental, each morning there were a few hot cooked surprises that just blew your socks off. Yum. Wildsprings is our most favorite place to stay. It's beautiful, peaceful, and refreshing for the soul. The breakfast is something to look forward to and a real treat. The cabins are a wonderful escape from the hectic day to day and are incredibly beautiful. We first visited in 2009, then again in 2011. When my husband proposed, we knew right away that we wanted our wedding to be at wildsprings. We were married in 2013 on the deck with the amazing view of the Forest and ocean in front of us. Dean and Michelle are truly remarkable people. They go above and beyond to make your stay as amazing and simple as possible. Before our wedding, my husband badly broke his foot on the beach. Dean and Michelle stepped in right away and helped us find a local doctor, a wheel chair, and made accommodations to our room to make our stay easier. Because of their help, what could have been a disaster of a wedding, we were able to move forward (after doctor care) with the wedding of our drams. They even made sure to tell us that they had spotted a whale in the cove during our reception dinner because it means good luck. They will always hold a special place in our hearts for their kindness and heart. read more

Stayed three nights over New Years and had a very special time. The cabins were comfortable and fanciful. Breakfast was great all three mornings with egg dishes, French toast, scones all home made each morning. Nice that you can use the kitchen as a guest which we did 2 nights. Going out is slim pick'ins in Port Orford and no great coffee shop either in town. I'd highly recommend WildSpring for a quiet, "granola" style get away. Service was attentive without being over bearing (helped us schedule a hiking guide who was very pleasant and knowledgeable). read more

This was my third stay at WildSpring, and it has never been anything short of perfection. The attention to detail is unparalleled. Somehow Dean and Michelle have anticipated every need. The guest cabins are extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated, and nothing has been skimped on. The grounds are well maintained and tranquil. The guest hall is always clean and comfortable, with good music and a nice selection of activities if you feel like hanging out there admiring the view. The breakfast is always delicious (seriously Michelle, you are a great cook!) and fresh. I just can't think of enough nice things to say. The amount of work that must go into maintaining the level of comfort and beauty is daunting, and yet it is done with such subtlety that nothing interrupts the sense of peace and serenity that covers every inch of WildSpring.
