I love the natural setting and the aesthetic of this lodge, it has beautiful surroundings and is so peaceful. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed, designed with rest and relaxation in mind. And the lodge offers a variety of activities for guests to enjoy during their stay as well as a lovely sitting area in the lobby and onsite dining. So I had super high expectations of an amazing experience. And while our experience was great, it wasn't exceptional. When staying at a place like this, I expect near flawless service. On the morning of check out, I had placed the "privacy please" sign on our door so that we could get a bit of extra sleep prior to our departure. Not even 5 minutes later, a staff member knocked on the door and when I answered, they said "oh sorry, never mind" and walked away. Mind you, it was hours before we were expected to check out, so I'm not sure what they could have needed from us at that time. While this is a small incident, at a place like this, I fully expect the staff to honor the privacy signs and to only disturb with a legitimate reason. Of course we're all human and all make mistakes but it was a disappointing incident. However, I would still recommend this lodge and taking the time to experience it for yourself. *Also note: when traveling to the lodge, use Google Maps for navigation. We used Waze and it took us the long way, around about on an old one lane road that was scary, especially in the dark. The hotel provides a warning about this in their confirmation email, but it's located all the way at the bottom and it was TLDR! My mistake.

This is an ethereal bit of shire where there shouldn't be one. Sublimely restorative zone of peace and elegance. Where else encourages and well prepares you for wood fires in room? Do bring a bag of gold for the endless but expensive wine list in the restaurant, but the wines provided in rooms are very reasonable. Wives and ex-wives will love this place. $$$

Just beautiful and the service was luxurious with a personal touch. I have recommended this place 2-3x already. Hope to get back some day.

First time visiting in the summer, and what a special spot. We started with cocktails on the deck overlooking the river -- such a peaceful and beautiful setting. The melon and mint appetizer was incredibly unique and bursting with flavor, and the grilled apricot with burrata was absolutely perfect. For our mains, we had the halibut and the salmon -- both unbelievably fresh and cooked to perfection. We truly didn't expect to find food of this caliber in Gold Beach, but now we know where to go. Hats off to Chef Derek for crafting such a thoughtful, delicious menu. We can't wait to return.

Breakfast: Turkish eggs the sourdough was grilled on a wood stove!!!!!

I stumbled across this gem on google maps on a hotel search. The reviews didn't do it justice. It was so peaceful. I came mid January and the weather was perfect. Crisp air and bright sunshine. The property was well kept and comfortable, the pool is kept at a nice 80+ degrees. Derrick, Hannah, Cameron, and Brooke were great. They make you feel at home and welcome. There are also glass rooms you can stay in that are on my list for next time! 100/10 recommend and worth every penny!!!!

This Lodge is truly one of Oregon's hidden gems. From the warm, attentive staff - Hannah was amazing- to the stunning glass River-front rooms, every detail feels intentional and peaceful. Add in the riverside sauna and the constant sound of flowing water, and it becomes the perfect place to unplug, reset, and recharge.

An Oregon treasure. The natural beauty and warm atmosphere make this a special destination. I loved the bedding and the private deck overlooking the Rogue River and stunning trees across. We both had massages in the mini glass cabins - highly recommend! Our dinners were phenomenal. We tried the halibut, shoshito peppers, potatoe wedges (wow!), one of the pasta options and cocktails. The heated pool and sauna by the river were my favorite things!! The fireplace was crackling from morning to night! I can't wait to go back!! Oh! Almost forgot the e bikes! Great quality bikes and lovely roads to explore-so much natural beauty!!

    Bad food. Bad service.

It's disappointing that instead of taking responsibility, management chose to insult me with false claims about my behavior. I was never intoxicated or disruptive -- that's simply their way of discrediting an unhappy guest. The facts remain: I was served a steak burnt beyond edible, and when I sent it back, the same piece was returned from the kitchen with the server saying there was nothing more she could do. Pricing was inconsistent, service was dismissive, and their "point-by-point" reply is full of excuses. The refund they issued says it all -- the experience was unacceptable. Future guests should know that honest reviews may be met with personal attacks instead of accountability

We were looking for a special experience to celebrate our 23rd anniversary. Dinner at Tu Tu Tun met and exceeded our expectations. Our server was top notch, a true professional who made us feel at home, provided the perfect level of service and privacy. We enjoyed Cowhorn wine and started with the Burrata with Variations of Beets, Granny Smith, Macadamia. It was beautiful! Dinner of beef filet and Bucatini Amatriciana. We had sides of Brussel sprouts and wedge potatoes. We also enjoyed pistachio tiramisu which was dreamy and creamy. All dishes were beautifully presented and most importantly tasted great. The lodge restaurant was peaceful and casually elegant with a large floor to ceiling stone fireplace situated in front of the bar. There was a lovely and accomplished piano player. During our conversation she played our wedding march song of Canon in D Major by Pachebel. We couldn't believe it. We gasped as this was a wink from God validating our union was a true celebration. We were overwhelmed with emotion. After dinner we decided to take a walk down to the river. It was very peaceful and to our surprise a full rainbow right in front of us. Amazing! What a special evening and dinner. Truly memorable.

We arrived in the dark and the cozy warm beautifully decorated room with fireplace made us immediately feel at home. The view we woke up to took our breath away. We were welcomed in the lodge for breakfast which was of outstanding quality. Deirdre was serving us with such kindness and devotion, making sure all of our needs were met. It felt we were immersed in a most precious slice of Paradise and hope to make it back someday for sure. Perfection all around. Thank you

They have really fixed the place up since we were there. They have added a wonderful porch that has a hot tub overlooking the river. (The river has even moved since then and is now right below the deck.) It's a great place to watch the seals, blue herons, egrets, osprey, and the sunrise over the distant hills. There is a wooden fence between each patio, so you have some privacy. Inside has been carefully remodeled to keep a cabin feel, but also give a touch of elegance. The woodwork and decor are both very nice and give the room a very cozy feeling, along with the nice gas fireplace in the livingroom area. The kitchen is simple, with a fridge and microwave, but no stove. There are a few plates, bowls, wine glasses, utensils, etc along with a small coffee pot, but the coffee given to use is just a tea bag coffee thing, so I'd recommend bringing your own. The bed was comfortable with end tables on each side. They don't have any usb plugins, but there are outlets close to the bed. There's also a dresser and small closet. The bathroom is also well appointed with a comfortable shower, small shelf for your shaving kit, a hair dryer, etc. Overall, we were very happy to see our old apartment turned into such a wonderful, relaxing resort. It brought back a lot of good memories, and we really enjoyed our stay. This is a real hidden treasure for the Gold Beach area.

I specifically booked this place for a jetted tub so was disappointed and on top of that the room was dirty. The hotel was able to move me to a room on the third floor. Very nice view and was a little cleaner than the first room. The room I first booked was a king bed with a "soaker" broke down jetted tub, room 501 which is also right next to the laundry room and on the bottom floor. Pictures show the gross marks and hair all over the lounger. My second room was 329 on the third floor with a king bed. The view was amazing and the location is steps away from the beach. The management needs to give more time to the cleaners and once a month they should lint roll the furniture and wipe off the marks. Also dusting is very much needed in the rooms. Overall the place is run down and not clean. Its pricey. I paid $178 for one night and thats with a BestWestern Diamond member discount. Lots of damage in rooms and not clean so be-aware if you have small kids. Also note that there are only wall heaters, they are very hot to the touch and do take time to heat the room. I did not see or use the ac since I visited in April. The only saving grace is the location and views on the third floor.

The room according to the website is available at 4pm, which I have never heard of this late a check in time, but my wife had stayed there in the past and wanted to go. So, I call about 2:30 to see if we can check in, "nope, it is still being cleaned." OK, we stall until 4. 1. 4:17 after waiting 17 minutes on other guest and try and check in and the room is still not ready. 2. 4:35 "oops, the room is not unclean it is double booked. "no problem we will find you something even if we have to upgrade." 3. 4:50 here is an upgraded room w/ a fireplace, it is supposed to not be pet friendly but we will make it work. We set off to the new room, unpack out things, climb to the second floor only to discover the room has one bed instead of 2. 4. 4:55, go back, wait in line and inform them it won't work while my family is waiting in the parking lot w/ all our stuff. While I was standing in line 4 other people in front of me are there for various complaints, key card won't work, double booked and someone is in the room, 1 bed instead of 2, gal allergic to dogs in put in a pet room, etc. 5. 5:30 they have scrambled and talked to various employees trying to find a room, the check in employee is not from there and not familiar w/ the rooms. 6. 5:40 the new employee discovers the room building we were originally booked to move in has several rooms open which she could have given me at 4:17, but she didn't know the layout. 7. While I am waiting, she offers me the free breakfast, "Great what is it?" " I don't know she states. "Is the spa up and running I ask." "No that is not working." Later the staff told me the spa hasn't been opened in months and corporate won't change the website. 8. 5:50 we move all our stuff from the one originally given to our new room. We finally get in the room at 6pm. 9. The room... Have to give kudos where they are due in order for it to be a good review. Spacious, nice new mirrors, vanity/sink area is large and the bathroom is nice but it ends there. 10. 6pm we finally settle in the room. We find the pillows are only 1.5-2" thick, wrap 4 layers of cardboard in a towel and you get the idea. so my wife sends my son off to the original room to find the personal pillow they had left behind. He found the gal who was allergic to pets in the same room we had already brought our pet into. 11. Towels are so thin and dingy they are identical to what I use in my shop as rags. Coffee pot doesn't work. Toilets flush, but you need to hold down on them for 30 seconds and you have a 50/50 chance of it flushing completely. Minimal but a bed reading light is out. So much for first impressions. 12. The heat was stuck at 78d all night and we couldn't lower it, sweated all night until maint, found it didn't work in the am. Only thing to do was to turn it off. 13. The "Ocean View" is looking over a parking lot, then a large area of a broken down, beat up building that looks like it should be destroyed which is the spa area. The spa area about 30' long and 12' high making the primary view below the ocean. You can see the ocean over the top of it, not bad view but completely disrupted by the decrepit spa building. Maintenance told us of the 3 spas there, all had broken at various times in the past and none were working but the corporation owning the hotel wouldn't spend any money on it. 14. They have a balconies including chairs and a table but are so narrow if you sit in the chair anyone passing has to turn sideways or the person in the chair has to turn their legs like in a movie theater. Not as bad, but close. If someone is carrying luggage, forget it, the sitting person has to stand up. 15. 8 am. The maintenance crew start work on the floor above us, so much for sleeping in 16. Midday, we have to move our cars in the parking lot as they are spray painting. 17. Every guest I talked to there had a complaint of one sort or another. The guest next to us had urine stained carpet that smelled of urine. 18. I complained to the manager the next day and she was very nice, patient etc. citing new employees as the challenge. She even comped me a room for one night. To be honest she was quite pleasant and apologetic about the whole affair. All the staff were really nice, but not one staff member had anything positive to say about the management of the hotel. The hotel has great potential. A great location, great access to the beach, the view of the spa building could be pleasant if it was kept up but not as is. The breakfasts were biscuits and gravy, next day eggs and potatoes. Pretty good for a smaller hotel, unfortunatley they ran out by 9am. Can't change the balconies but buy some pillows and towels, clean the rooms, fix the spa, prepare enough breakfast for what you have booked and hire someone who knows how to book and is familiar w/ the hotel. Paint on the outside wouldn't hurt either. It is not nice or pretty.
