I picked up some napkins for an upcoming party and the boy scored a handmade hand puppet for friends of ours who are expecting. We weren't looking for anything when we walked in, but this would be a hard store to leave empty-handed. There's seriously bound to be something for everyone inside. We hit them right towards closing, so we were the only customers inside, but the three women who were working seemed friendly -- one was super helpful when I was searching for additional napkin sets. They had a Maryland crab themed shopping spread, and there was a cute little ceramic crab jewelry holder that I just HAD TO HAVE! And it was from this little store, Simply Noted, in Ruxton. First attempt in trying to get this crab did not go well. I made sure to check the store hours before I went and when I arrived it was closed! I was very upset since I did check beforehand, so I messaged the store via Facebook. I received a very sincere response from the manager explaining that their summer hours are shorter than listed online. She apologized and offered to ship it to me free of shipping charges. I decided to try going the next day because I really did want to check out the shop, and I am glad I did because it is adorable. Tons of cards, note pads, and gift items like books, dog toys and wine accessories. This place has it all and even designer items to like Kate Spade stationary. The woman working realized it was me from the Facebook messaging and apologized again and she was a pleasure to talk to and work with. And I am SO happy with my cute crab jewelry holder. Words cannot describe how excited I am when I stop by this store to see if they have any new items in stock. They also sell beautiful planners, pens, markers, post it notes, etc. While it is a smaller shop, I think it is very well organized and laid out and I think the owner is really strategic about what they carry because I've always left feeling like nothing was lacking in my experience. Free street parking is available on nearby streets and this shop is right by several bus stations so it's easy to get to. There is a single step to enter the store if you have concerns regarding accessibility. I don't think they're active on Yelp, but they are active on Instagram where they post when the shop is having events like journaling club!! and stationary events. The jewelry selection is BEAUTIFUL. The rings are in point, sweet necklaces and some earrings that had me tempted to put some holes in my lobes. I told her I am fully vaccinated (J&J) and the kids cannot wear theirs due to health reasons. She said- we will still ask them to wear masks. So we turned around and left since they don't seem to care about the health of everyone- and would prefer to put my kids INTO the hospital (again) instead of understanding that they cannot wear them. I noticed all the books I purchased were at least $2.00 less than MSRP. I saw the some of the same books in other shops but never at prices as low as their prices.
