I've always loved the Bridlington Chiltern Mills they seem to have a much wider range of products…read morethan some of their other stores. They do the usual bedding range, which is well laid out with several on display so you can look and feel the product which I find very useful when buying bedding as I like a nice cool cotton! They also do a lot of curtaining and fancy tie backs. On top of these standard ranges they have a small amount of unique furniture and a lot of different gift ranges. It looks like they get a bulk lot of something from bigger stores that they sell on for very cheap prices. It is worth popping in to see what they have on offer.

The shop is situated amongst residential properties so the only parking is a limited amount of on street parking. The shop is very small and compact but does manage to have quite an extensive range of wallpapers and they have display boards outside showing off some of their lovely range and will no doubt attract a lot of passing trade as the shop is on a main road in to the town centre. Being a smaller store it is a little more expensive then the bigger DIY chains but they do have some unique and high quality wallpapers in stock so it is worth a look if you are after something a bit different. The staff are knowledgeable and able to offer advise on how much paper you need etc.

They also have things you often can't find anywhere else in town, like caustic soda which I seem to use abundantly on my recalcitrant drains. They also have a small range of dirt cheap bicycle accessories (e.g. pedals for £2.99 a few months ago) and wiring and faceplates for satellite and network/modem connections. It's all a bit of a hotch-potch really but now Woolies is no more I think Wilkinson's will come into its own.

Bridlingtons Boyes' is a massive store over many floors. They have DIY goods, craft and sewing,…read moreclothes for adults and children. There is an extensive furniture section and a toy area. I love the top floor the best, that is where their gift range is kept with lots of lovely presents. On the top floor there is also a small museum with the history of the shop and the area. There is a little cafe on the top floor as well with spectacular views of the beach and town. They have delicious food, with some unique specials as well as the traditional food. You have to visit the store at Christmas to look at the specially decorated windows and the grotto area. The window will have a display with moving figures and will be beautiful.

They disappeared over the years but it seems as if more food shops are appearing again. I parked near the one in Whitby and got my divi card (that has certainly changed) so I was pleased to find one on Newlands which you can park near and there is one near the Valley road. The newlands shop is a good size and is well stocked and has some good offers and stuff you cant get elsewhere. The big attraction for a lot of people is the good range of Fair Trade stuff coops sell. Before christmas the staff dressed up to raise money for charity.
