Horrible parking options, working students seem uninterested and routinely put down the city of Salem, staff and faculty take weeks to MONTHS for responses. Tuition is far too high for the level of education provided. Be aware and take you or your loved ones education elsewhere!!!! read more

This review is of Willamette just as a local cultural and entertainment asset. With the public library about to be handicapped for two years, I set out to look for alternatives. At the Mark O.Hatfield Library main desk, staff will issue to area residents a "community borrower's card" for a yearly fee of $50. To access the campus, I always park in the visitors' lot on the east side of Winter St., close to the intersection with Pringle Parkway. The signage is confusing: parking is free for casual drop-ins only on weekends. For those from away, walk NE from the visitors' parking until you see the fountain. There is found an excellent map and you can orient yourself. The Martha Springer Botanical Garden is a few minutes' walk from the library and worth a visit. It does not show on the online map. It is the green strip north of the Sparks Center, on the south bank of the Mill Race. read more

Absolutely stunning campus! Have been here several times & it's gorgeous & well taken care of in any season.

My daughter chose this university because it is a small liberal arts program with more personal attention to the students. No large classes here and you can speak to the professor unlike most large institutions. They offer students counseling and the Bishop Wellness Center is very close to the freshman who might need this service. The staff helps people adjust to life away from home and recognizes this is an adjustment for the student and parents. Every time I called as a parent to ask a question I received my answer from the helpful staff. If you want a small college with a close knit student body, this would be a good fit. read more

Willamette University sits across the street from Salem's hubcap capital. It's a beautiful little campus. It has its historical roots in Methodist missionaries who came to the Pacific Northwest. For a college, they have great food. Their summer arts programs are excellent, and they have good dorms, surprisingly. Willamette University is strong in the arts. It's a highlight of otherwise bleak downtown Salem. read more
