At discharge nurse dismissed my father's breathing difficulties, wheezing and fast breathing. Pushed him into wheelchair despite my concern for his respiratory status. Was rushing to get him out because "she was getting another patient", gave incomplete and incorrect post op teaching where my mother didn't know what to do. When asked about an ice machine for recovery said "well I'll sell ya one for $200". Then provided no education, said there is a pamphlet that shows you what to do because she was rushing him out. Then did not verify post op medication discrepancy with surgeon which led to father missing dose of pain medication at home. Father was a number and nothing more. As a 22yr ortho/surgical nurse I would suggest going elsewhere. Will not allow anyone with patient while they are being preoped which can lead to mistakes in medical history, and caregivers being unaware of what they need to do. As well as cause anxiety for patient and family.

I immediately felt at ease with both the location and visit. I saw Dr. Hughes at both the Ridgewood and Med Center locations. Both facilities were well-maintained and welcoming. I appreciated the time Dr. Hughes spent in answering my questions and I felt confident that he was prescribing the best care possible. I also appreciated his plan for not immediately recommending surgery and instead planned on taking new x-rays three weeks later to ensure recovery was progressing as expected. It would have been very easy to say "surgery is needed" as an easy way to get paid, so it made me feel I was truly being valued as a patient and with the best care in mind vs. making money off of me. After two follow-up visits with X-rays, he confirmed my foot was healing as expected and no surgery was needed. Now, 4 months post-injury, my foot is fully functional again and I know that wouldn't have been the case if I didn't trust my gut and get a second opinion from Dr. Hughes and TSAOG. Would absolutely use again if ever needed.

I could never recommend this company based on the fact that it's turned into an industry of…read moreprocedures and rather than being focused on the patience and blame that on the office I blame that on the level of greed that Dr Donnie and perhaps some of his associates are focused on the number of procedures rather than focusing on the patience. And then I look at the front office and they're simply overwhelmed and I'm thinking underpaid as typical in these kinds of Industries and with that being said the the issue with the front office is you call and I always seem to speak to George and George is it seems to be a very nice gentleman but his job is to Simply transfer me to a voicemail for the nurses and the nurses advised that they will reach back out to you within 48 hours which is really impossible for them because they don't have the time to respond to voicemails because there's not enough of staff to address patience that need help. The level of care and my most humble opinion is moot. I was blessed to have the opportunity to to be in the presence of Dr Donald Atkins for maybe 10 minutes and post surgery didn't even see him and that in and of itself speaks volumes of his lack of bedside Manor. Our initial meeting with was going to be discussing the procedure although Limited in information I specifically requested not to be sent to the Methodist hospital for this procedure for very very personal reasons and that request was absolutely ignored I was told we could do the procedure within his facility and he even stated that but that didn't happen and because that didn't happen I was very upset that he or the office rather didn't tell me I was going to the Methodist hospital for this procedure until I was getting prepped for the surgery and he made the comment about me taking my anti-anxiety medication and I indicated that I had not and Dr Atkins indicated that his staff didn't feel comfortable was me at the time although I wasn't happy with being there I was certainly not disrespectful in any way with the staff I just wasn't there to make friends I'm there to get the procedure done and I didn't appreciate the fact that my request was not adhered to. And because of that Donald made it a comment with regards to an incident that happened at a Dallas facility with a veteran who had PTSD. Essentially he made the insinuation that I was one of those kinds of people with PTSD that would go off like that and which means he's labeling veterans with PTSD are all the same and would go off and do something stupid which is something I certainly took offense to and he has absolutely no idea of the different variations of PTSD I've never exhibited any kind of aggressiveness towards him or his staff. I found his comments to be egregious offensive and absolutely unprofessional so in short, I could never recommend Donald Atkins for any kind of surgery even if it was on a tick because he doesn't seem to care about the things that he says and the bedside manner is just not there. My only recommendation it would be that perhaps Dr Atkins should choose a different field of employment that doesn't involve human beings because he certainly didn't treat me as such.

The front desk staff and echo technician were all very polite and helpful. They have handicap parking right up front and had automatic opening doors which is very helpful with my mom being in a wheelchair. They have health classes here sometimes, and had a dedicated room for them. The space has an assisted living facility feel, especially in the nice waiting area. The clinic was nicely decorated for Christmas. While I still have my issues with the general Health Texas call system, this clinic offered a pleasant in-person experience.

Dr. Yuen did not disappoint. She listened to my ongoing concerns, planned to meet with me regarding future health management, and most importantly, did not push services on me that I did not want. Front office staff did their best to move patients through and was very helpful. Parking can be tight in the lot in front of the building; check around the side for additional spots. So far, I'd highly recommend this location. Will update when I've dealt with ongoing care and billing.

I'm 100% sure I did this since they kept me on the phone for 30 minutes while they figured out that my health insurance (through work) was fine but my husband's insurance (through the marketplace) was not accepted so I would have to find him a different doctor. I showed up to my appointment on time, after skipping breakfast because of the cholesterol test, only to be told that actually they don't take Cigna. What a giant waste of time.
