My sister had her divorce trial and it was ruled over by commissioner Jean Cotton. I've never seen…read morea more blatant example bias against women in my life, especially from another woman. It was so disgusting to watch her beat my sister down, especially since there was domestic violence during the marriage. If you're a woman, and she's your commissioner for anything--RUN. Get it changed, justice will not be served with her as your judge. There is currently a change dot com petition to remove her from duty: https://chng.it/ZnnNsyG5zB

Jean Cotton should not be practicing in any capacity. I have yet to encounter fellow citizens and even local health care professionals and fellow colleagues of Jean's that have a single kind/good thing to say. She is not only derelict in her duties as a GAL paid by the county, but she is very well known for favoring the "abuser" in most cases. She also has no accountability or recourse for things that are done intentionally by her, like refusal to recuse herself from a case with very clear conflict of interest issues. This court system needs judges and public servants that are keeping up with the times and aware of just how serious and scary it is dealing with a narcissist. To not only be abused by an ex but then go to court expecting things to be taken seriously and looked into as they should, seems and feels like intentional abuse by our own court/justice system here locally. Educate yourselves. Do your research on these people. Start banding together and demanding better for yourselves and your children. It's time.
