Though he promised in writing to negotiate this modification, he never followed through. Instead, he got us on a forbearance, which has cost us more money with the bank, left the issue unresolved and actually in a worse situation than we were originally, as when you exit a forbearance situation, there is a three-month rule to be able to refi, which was impossible since the bank is demanding one single massive balloon payment. When we went back he was disinterested and essentially blew us off. Turns out even though this commercial bank had denied us one, a refi with another institution would have been the easy solution to begin with but he never mentioned this option, only a sale, reverse mortgage or a loan mod. Overall, he was dismissive in his demeanor and uninterested in our case. His gatekeeper Clifton seems checked out. After blowing us off, he said we owed him MORE than we paid in the retainer for the privilege of his ineffectual services, then eventually "settled" for keeping the full retainer amount, while he focused on a bigger deal with a bank or the state or something. We suspect he may actually be in bed with the banks, merely posing as a champion of the people. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! July 2018 I finally heard from him explaining his poor performance.
