I've been going to Dr. Kachele for over 20 years and recommend his office wholeheartedly. My sons also see him and my husband as well. On Monday my 19 year-old son had all four of his wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Kachele under sedation dentistry. The whole experience was seamless. He was there just a little over an hour. The staff is tremendous especially Jennifer, the front office manager, who is so knowledgeable about everything. After the procedure, my son was in minimal pain only had to take a couple doses of his pain medication and by day two was in no pain and back at work. He did not have any swelling nor bruising. Just be careful. It may be just one of the dental assistants, Chris that gave this office 2 stars instead of 1. She was friendly, accommodating and super nice. I've gotten one cleaning and two visits for 5 cavities. I wasn't a fan of the dental hygienist either. The dentist was okay but when it came to the bite.. I'm sure that the doctor messed up my bite because it's still not right and I've been back 4 times for this. I'm just going to go back to my other dentist who's a little further away but worth it. At least that office knows what they're doing. I always felt like an inconvenience for this office when I was there and they never sent me forms like they were supposed to. I also didn't feel comfortable here. As I was transferring over offices from this office to another, I asked for the X-rays and the front desk worker said "it was California law" to pay for it. Then she asked if I had insurance? I've transferred offices before and they have never asked money from me. I resulted in ending up asking the new office to call this office for the X-ray and they didn't inquire about a "fee cost". Overall-- it may be super close to my house but I will drive the extra 15 mins to an amazing dentist and staff in Oceanside instead. read more

One year ago in May of 2023 Dr. Kachele put on a new rear molar crown and did a core build up. The temporary crown fell off in 5 days which I had to have reglued. Later he placed the permanent crown, which was terribly uncomfortable. I had pressure sensitivity, (I could not chew on the left side, sensitivity to cold and I could feel the open margin with my tongue. He tried adjusting it at least 4 or 5 times. I had 2nd and 3rd exams by other dentists, one being a periodontist and they both agreed the crown had an open margin, it was possible and likely it was open to decay. I went back to Dr. Kachele and he told me he wanted to make it right, but did not feel there was anything wrong with the crown. He offered to sand down the open margin or give me a refund. I of course took the offer for the refund. I didn't trust him any longer. I went to pick up the check, but I refused it because I felt the amount was insufficient for what I had gone through, plus the costs of the other exams and then having to go through the whole process all over again with another dentist. My new crown was put on in December of 2023. Dr. Kachele caused 6 months of discomfort that caused me so much anxiety. Needless to say.... NOT HAPPY! He's been talking about retirement since I started going to him. Maybe it's time. read more

Had an implant performed on tooth 30. I was prescribed some sleeping pills to put me out for the procedure. Supposedly I signed a form before my procedure while under the sleeping meds. I was out dont recall anything. Well when I woke or got home he also did a root canal on tooth 13. Ok if needed that fine. Well my implant that cost $2k was done incorrectly (2 other implant specialists said so). The root canal failed was also not done correctly with nerve still there and infected. After stating my concerns he got defensive and rude and would not consider a refund. He would not respond to my insurance claims since I had reported him. Never again. He may be a good dentist, but for any major work- a root canal or implant go see a specialists! read more

Smelt super clean and all front desk staff were very friendly. Went there for the first time and I was pleased with the service all around. From the front desk to the assistant taking the X-rays to Dr. Kachele examining my teeth. It was all painless and quick. Very close to where I live and my insurance covered everything for the day (examination, X-rays and cleaning) so I couldn't be more pleased. I was also happy that Dr. Kachele didn't try to get me to do extra procedures - he simply said that I had good/decent teeth and that I should come back in 6 months for a routine cleaning. Let me tell you about my experience at the office of William S. Kachele Jr. DMD... Going to the dentist has always taken a back seat when it comes to my priorities due to the fact that I dislike visiting the dentist! I get nervous and I do not trust others and their services most of the time. I feel like people try to just take my money and do unnecessary work to my mouth. However, this was NOT the case with Dr. Kachele. One day, I was in a lot of pain and I could not handle the pain any longer. That is when a family friend had referred me to Kachele. I gave the office a call and explained how much pain I was in and they took care of me that same day. As I am on my way to the office (never been before) I was nervous as I always get when going to the dentist. My first impression of the office is that it is very nice, very clean, and looks very professional. They had a nice aquarium that was pleasant to look at! However, I didn't have the chance to look at it for much time because they don't make me wait much in the waiting room (which is a huge plus!!). I don't like it when I have an appointment set and they don't see me until 30 minutes after my appointment, which was NOT the case with Kachele. Kachele made me feel very comfortable. He is well educated and very informative. He is all about communication and you could tell he cared about his patients (me) a lot because it was more than just a dentist appointment, it was making sure I was happy with the results and going the extra mile by making sure the work he did in my mouth felt comfortable in my mouth. Also, the staff was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable. The office manager Jenifer was very good with making sure I was informed about my appointments, the breakdown of how much everything was going to cost, and you can tell she would look out for my best interest. I am a very busy person, so she would always make sure I was able to be seen when I was available instead of vice versa. Also, Ana (dentist assistant) was a life saver! If there was ever a little issue with anything, she was my go to girl! She is very good at what she does and is very friendly, as well as Veronica! Jenifer, Ana, Veronica and the rest of the staff are super friendly. I knew I had a lot of work that needed to be done. Especially with my front teeth (I needed crowns in the front four). I am an extremely picky person. I wanted to have a million dollar smile. I explained to him from the very beginning, how I was very picky with the way I want things done. I want my teeth nice and white, no gaps in-between my teeth, etc. Turns out he is just as picky - if not more, about his own work. He will not be happy unless I'm happy. That is something I do not find a many people. Kachele loves what he does and you can see that! Also, HE IS VERY GOOD AT NUMBING. No joke, I never feel the needle when he is numbing me which is awesome (that is the scariest part for me). I hate needles! After everything was all said and done, I can now say I have the million dollar smile I have always wanted. My confidence level has gone up drastically and I can now take a photo and show off my teeth. Kachele is like a magician and did magic in my mouth. Thank you so much for that, Kachele. He helped provide a very cost effective solution to my pain (smoothed a tooth down), did a full facial scan, and told me to hold off on any further dental treatment as he didn't see any evidence I needed more. Ana was very detail oriented and worked very diligently in cleaning my teeth and making sure that I was comfortable in the room. She made it easy to understand my insurance benefit and how much I have available for the year. The office overall had a great design. The lobby is so beautiful with a large fish tank in the wall. I went to this guy a few years back. He has a major chip on his shoulder and isn't a very good dentist. Go ahead and see him but remember this review. I also had billing problems with this guy and it turned into a major hassle. He is not reasonable and if you have to come back for follow up somehow it will be your fault, you watch. He made a major mistake on my teeth and when he was confronted with it tried to play it off like it was somehow my fault? I would never see him again and never went back. It's a shame they let a guy like this even have a DDS and be able to work on the public. Look around, there are plenty of others to chose from. Also check other reviews on the web. That bad review looks bogus! I have A Lot of experience (too much) with dentists and I am delighted to finally find one who listens, is compassionate and NOT condescending. NEVER has a dentist looked at my mouth full of crowns and fillings and said "looks like you've really taken care of your teeth". Mostly they make you feel like you've never owned a toothbrush. He is congenial and caring, constantly asking me how I feel, if it hurts and reacting quickly to my response. Dr. Kachele took the time to explain procedures and I understood him perfectly. This dentist is a money-grubbing dentist that pulled healthy teeth of mine, JUST so he could get MORE $$$!!! Not to mention, everything was paid for up-front and the only thing I still needed to pay for was to get my teeth re-lined, and he UPPED the bill MORE than THREE TIMES!!! Yeah, he's good with the pain management, but if you go to him, watch out because he'll drain your bank account!!!
