I've been coming to Nordahl Dental for about 4 years now for regular cleanings. They do a fantastic job, are always on time, and very helpful with issues. I often see reviews at other dentists offices saying they were pressured to fill in cavities. I've never had that, and they're very supportive of making sure the care I'm given is something I really need. I've recommended them non-stop to my friends and realized it was time I do a review too! I had Invisalign with another orthodontist in 2020 and have had some issues post (teeth hitting, etc.) Dr. Sammy has been extremely invested in helping me fix my bite and checking in on what might be causing me issues, even though he wasn't my orthodontist. Well, when I finally got the nerve to go, my wife made an appointment for me with her Dentist, Dr. Ashley Ingram at Nordahl Dental. When I arrived, I seemed calm on the outside, but was, in fact, an anxiety-filled wreck on the inside. Dr. Ashley talked me down from the ledge like a seasoned hostage negotiator. I had an appointment with Dr Ingram to replace a broken crown. She was very gentle and explained the procedure while she was attending me. Her assistant Marisela worked so well along side of her and you could feel confident that you were receiving the best care. Brisa in the front office was efficient in accommodating my appointment to get me in quickly as I needed to work it around my schedule. I am over the moon with happiness and satisfaction with Dr Rima and her staff! I was recommended by my oral surgeon to see Dr.Rima Shahhal when I unexpectedly broke my front tooth veneer. Her office got me in on the same day From start to finish the whole procedure was smooth, timely, pleasant and professional. Dr Rima suggested a crown instead of a veneer for the two front teeth to give them more strength and viability She also made sure I had secure and pretty temporaries in place too while we waited for the new crowns Dr Rima has an eye for detail and aesthetics. She was not happy with the first set and sent them back to the lab. She wanted a more feminine outline, too bulky and long she said , and the color was a smidge off. This totally blew me away because she could have slapped them on and I would have had my expectations met Honestly I had thought we wouldn't get a perfect match and I would have to make do. The final crowns were cemented in today. Dr. Rima slid them on while I held a mirror. She won't cement them until you see them and approve Wow!!! They were perfect! . However she pointed to one edge and did a little bit of tweaking to improve the silhouette she also adjusted my bite. I wish I could give her and her wonderful staff 10 Blazing super stars !! They Exceeded my expectations massively They are a family general dentistry practice too. Their prices are very reasonable, staff always friendly, gracious and beyond helpful to meet your needs. Went in for a regular cleaning. Sean did a cleaning and scaling and it was excellent. He took the time to go tooth-by-tooth. Some dental hygienists at other dental offices are not so diligent. I'm an old guy and still have silver amalgam fillings from the 1960s. Well, over the years from temperature variations (I have been drinking coffee and cold drinks daily all that time) the silver expands and contracts. So, during the post-cleaning inspection, the dentist found a-n-o-t-h-e-r of my silver fillings which had broken a tooth. She showed me the photos on a large display. (Hindsight: I should have changed all my silver fillings to ceramic 20+ years ago. Sigh.) Now scheduled to go in for a crown on that tooth and, in the near futrure, will change any other silver fillings to ceramic. read more

I'm so thankful to call Nordahl Dental home - and I never thought I'd say that about the dentist's office. My search for a new dentist began after my family moved to Escondido. Nordahl Dental had great reviews and I noticed the UCLA Bruins alumni connection, so I had to give it a try. Scheduling my appointment was super straightforward and tech-savvy. I called to get on the books and filled out online registration forms + a COVID-19 screening questionnaire thru their website. Not to mention, they make sure to send ample reminders via text about your upcoming appointments. The office is clean, modern and the staff is warm and inviting. I went for a standard new patient screening + xrays + cleaning and also looked to get some cosmetic work done as I'm getting married in a couple of months. Dr. Rima was professional, friendly and listened to my concerns about wanting cosmetic work done. Dr. Rima is always reasonable and never pushy about what I should or shouldn't do. I've already gone back 3 times now for a regular cleaning, fillings for cavities (yikes) and Uveneers to fix old, discolored composite bonding. Fillings were always my biggest fear because of the painful novacaine I remembered getting as a kid but somehow Dr. Rima administered the anesthetics so smoothly and painlessly. The pictures say it all. Dr Shahhal managed to erase a year and a half of Invisalign progress in less than 30 minutes. I went in to have a cavity filled on one of my teeth, the tooth directly next to the front tooth. Dr. Shahhal did not match the shape or color. When I went back to have her alter it, she denied shortening it. Although when I showed her the pictures of three days before, she admitted in fact it was shorter. OMG did I shorten it ??? My Invisalign pictures and retainers tell a different story. She attempted to repair the tooth once again. See the middle picture of the color discrepancy I was left with. The other two pictures show the shortness of the tooth compared to the other one and the gap it created. Now, I am back in another set of Invisalign retainers for another 3-6 months (I was technically done) and have a misshapen and dark tooth. My treatment plan was to whiten and brighten and straighten my smile. Not results I was aiming for. It almost seemed retaliatory, as if I offended her by saying my tooth didn't match. read more

I am writing this review because this dental group is so amazing. They are professional, patient, efficient, among many other positive attributes. They have been my dentist for quite awhile. Recently, I needed to have an implant. They recommended an amazing Oral Surgeon who they work closely with. I went to that group. They were amazing as well. After they did their part in preparing my implant, I returned to Nordahl dental for them to complete the implant. Every part of that process went smoothly, effortless, with little if any pain and the completed implant looks exactly like my other teeth. They matched it precisely. DISABLED?! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE PEOPLE!! They are so kind and respectful of people with disabilities. After being treated so poorly by so many different dentists in the past, I developed crazy anxiety when needing to head to the dentist to fix my mouth's problems. I allowed my mouth to get really bad because of the unnecessary added pain, fear and anxiety I was faced with enduring anytime I attempted to fix my mouth. I've been a Registered Dental Assistant for about 6 years now and that makes me hyperaware of all things dental, which can make it extremely hard to find a dental office to call home. I've seen some amazing dentists in the past who have had unprofessional or disrespectful front/back office and the experience is somewhat ruined after that. From the moment I called Nordahl Dental, Deborah went out of her way to check into my insurance and schedule me an appointment for that week. She is seriously so welcoming and sweet that I found myself looking forward to my appointment as the time got closer. I got several reminders of my appointment, which I LOVE, and they saw me on time. I had x-rays, an exam, and a cleaning, and it was beyond obvious that all of the assistants and hygienists have tons of experience. Each one asked me about myself and I felt so respected and cared for while I was there. Dr. Rima is amazing! She was so thorough with my exam and seriously gave me all the good vibes about being there! She is engaging and readily put me at ease. She was remarkably skilled and efficient. She appears to be well respected by her staff. The office is immaculate and comfortable. It is a new office and appears to be well equipped. Their equipment is state-of-the art. For example, they use a CBCT that creates a detailed, 3-D image of a patient's teeth enabling accurate diagnosis. The front-office staff are professional, helpful and engaging. Even if Dr. Rima is comforting and accommodating it is only till one chooses not to agree to antibiotics. I had a statement in writing from my doctor stating it did not matter one way or the other if antibiotics were to be used in my cleaning treatment....I did not find the alliance between doctor and patient was what i was looking for...The aliance here is with drug companies and drug industry....Dr. Rima did not work coorperatively with me and refused treatment without antibiotics. Fortunately i walked away from the brick wall i ran into. i was stubborn and lucky. i still have dental problems but at least not dangerous side effects from drugs. In addition to not seeing my view on the dangers of antibiotics i learned from my visits her open mindedness re root canals.
