After visiting quite a few facilities, we chose Artis. It is bright and clean. The staff are friendly, caring and understand how to care for dementia patients. Although it is a secure facility, it doesn't have a "locked in" feel. My father has been at Artis for two months now. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the entire staff. They treat my dad like family. They call him by name. They genuinely care about him. He is clean. His room is clean. He participates in activities like exercise class, bingo, noodle ball, movies and more. He is happy and comfortable. No, it isn't home. But I feel that it is as close to home as it can possibly be. I know he is safe. I know he is cared for. I know he will not wander away. Thank you to every single member of the Artis staff.

To start, the community is so inviting and really does go above and beyond to make it a wonderful place for their residents. All of the staff we have met so far have been friendly and incredibly helpful. If you have any special requests they really do accommodate them. You can tell the extra time they spend each morning getting the residents ready for the day and making sure they are well fed and entertained. She has been at other facilities where you barely see management. That is not the case here. I regularly see management out interacting with the residents and their families. They are all approachable and willing to help at the drop of a hat. We honestly can't be happier with this location and plan to keep her here as long as needed. The Executives, receptionist, maintenance, and all the care takers are all amazing and truly care . The tenure shows the staff is treated well which results in a happy staff making residents happy. It's her home away from home. The tenure of the staff was so impressive to me and the more I got to know each of them I now know why. They are a family. I am blown away by staff. Every person from the activity director, receptionist, technicians, executives , chef, and servers are so loving. Everyone knows my mom's name and her history. All of her friends that visit comment on what a wonderful place it is and how caring and loving the staff is. I would highly recommended it to others because t's very different from other places. The entire staff at Paramount were pleasant and helpful and you can tell that they all enjoy their work and that they truly care about the patients. The nursing staff were excellent! While I hated for my husband to have to be there, the obvious dedication and compassion of the staff made me feel comfortable leaving him in their capable hands. My husband received speech therapy, and, in the short time that he was there, we noticed definite improvements in his speech and comprehension. Occupational therapy and physical therapy also were great--both in the services provided and the advice as to how to adapt his environment and his activities. The facility is very clean, the rooms are spacious, and the dining and lounge areas were comfortable and inviting. My husband enjoyed a variety of foods and was provided with alternatives if he did not want what was on the standard menu. I'm hoping he won't expect that same variety and flexibility now that he's home. If you are in need of a rehabilitation facility, I highly recommend Paramount South Hills.
