Ok my fellow Yelpers! I'm here today to reveal to you my secret dry rub! Yes, I know you're thinking wow this should be interesting! This guy's reviews are always so touchy feely. But I can't help it, you know how I like to add my personal touch. But this time by the end of this review you will be in the market for a new rub. So without further ado here is some fun context to my story. As you know I grew up in Spokane, Washington which was a lot of fun, I had great parents and an amazing extended family of grandparents, uncles, cousins and for the most part we only saw each other on the holidays and birthdays. But in the summer we would rent a cabin on Williams Lake which is one of many lakes in the greater Cheney, Washington area. There was a small general store where you would rent the cabin, buy your groceries and discuss with the proprietor what hot new tackle to use for catching fish - you get the picture. Years later the cabins were torn down, new ones were built, along with a really nice retirement community. The general store was converted into a restaurant called The Bistro at Williams Lake and the resort is now called Klink's Resort and we have been frequenting the restaurant now for many years. Although I'm not specifically reviewing Klink's Resort or The Bistro, I would like to say the food is very good; but I'm writing about their amazing rub - Klink's Mediterranean Buckaroo Dry Rub. I'm not kidding, this is how it reads on the shaker, just don't judge a rub by its cover! I will take a picture of the shaker and upload for this review. To continue, I'm a proud owner of a Traeger Grill which is a smoker technology built right here in Oregon. It has a hopper, auger and hot box that uses vertical varieties of wood pellets for fuel. "I think Traeger makes a small fortune selling bags of pellets." As I began the hunt for that unique rub that would make me famous with the neighbors and family, I tried at least twenty different manufacturers and multiple varieties of rubs and they were all ok, but my search was over when I found Klink's. I use it on everything; chicken, steak and turkey. It is a savory rub not sweet and I think it's the best. But here is the tricky part, Klink's now only sells their rub in bulk, so here is how you can get your hands on it. There is a butcher shop in Spokane called Eggers Meats on the South Hill from which you can buy the rub in bulk. I will leave the URL for both Klink's and Eggers in this review. We went out to Klinks resort to rent a boat and do some fishing. It looked windy, but the person manning the boat rentals let us know the other side of the lake was much calmer. Due to wet (spray coming over boat) and windy, not to mention dangerous conditions, we brought the boat in after 1/2 hour for a $50 rental (we could have had it the whole day at that price). I am thinking the guy would say something like, "Wow, back so soon?" But he knew I, and several other "customers" were quite upset. Sadly, I think they count on windy days for extra revenue. If people bring in the boats so quickly and get them out to new, unknowing and poorly advised customers (such as me). Stay away. This business may be bordering on dishonest. read more

I booked a weeks RV spot for July 1-8,2018 in January. My relative was parked next door for the same amount of time but had to leave early as of health problems. Klinks parking assistance parked a 40' Rv in their spot which was way to big in the spot. They were allowed to park straight forward, instead of at an angle like the rest of us. When they got leveled and settled in, here comes the slide out that extended into my small area in front of my 24' RV. We did not have room to use the picnic table or portable fire pit. Not to mention that their 4 teenage girls were using the outside shower and made a mud hole by the table. I went to the office the next day as it was late and I was really angry. I shared this same story and received no satisfaction. I said I wanted a refund for the 2 days left and was told that they would change the rate to a daily rate instead of weekly. My invoice when I checked in did not mention rate changes. KLINKS caused the problem for my leaving and could cared less about what I thought. They kept my money for 2 days($86.66)....... The cabins are adorable. Loved our stay. Everyone was friendly. The staff was helpful. The only complaint we really have was being told there is a grill when in actuality it's a charcoal pit like you find at local parks. I was unhappy to have to spend a small fortune at their store for a small bag of briquettes and lighter fluid and to have to go to town to buy more at a reasonable price so we could cook our remaining meals. The restaurant: gorgeous, though inside smells like seafood. The desserts are to die for. The live music is a nice touch, especially when sitting on the dock fishing. read more

There is something about this place, that keeps me coming back. I drive 5 hrs to get here, because the people that work here are great, the guests are friendly, the fishing can be downright fantastic, and the restaurant puts out some fantastic food. My kids love it here. It's their place to feel free, and do what they want without a schedule. We just let em play, and they love it. I highly recommend klinks, especially if you are hungry. the garlic fries, will make you need to buy bigger pants, it's that good. read more

Took my wife and a friend to Klink's restaurant for dinner prior to taking our kayaks for a moonlight paddle. Besides having to pay $5 EACH to park there, eat at the restaurant and launch our kayaks, the restaurant was far too pricey for the amount and quality of the food. Although they gave us coupons for mixing up our orders, the $20 worth comes nowhere close to bringing the cost of two dinners within reason. Next year, we'll eat in Cheney and launch our boats for free a little farther down the road! read more

What a great 6 days our family of 9 had at Klinks resort camping. The staff were very helpful and friendly,particularly Sandy. It's the only place where we have had a staff member take us to our site and make sure we were in the right spot and everything worked. The lake is great for fishing and swimming,the beach was raked and cleaned every morning. Boat rental was very good. The restaurant had good food, it's not cheap but good food never is! It was nice not having WIFI and phone service to interrupt us. Brent the manager was very interested in talking to us on how our stay was. More kayaks would be good. Ok, yelpers. I am almost nervous to write this review because this secret spot is so awesome, when you try it you will always go back. With that said, I will do the noble thing and let you all know about Klinks. This place is amazing!!! Great fishing, swimming, food (restaurant rocks). We have been going here for years and of all the places we travel in the summers this is always my kids favorite. Jerry and the crew are amazing, you really cannot go wrong with Klinks. I'm a little surprised this place doesn't have more reviews but quite possibly that is because when you are there, you get to be a little separated from your phone. That said they do have public wireless in small, specific areas when emergencies arise though when the park gets busy you can pretty much plan on not having a cell phone or wireless access for your stay. And that isn't a bad thing. The whole point of a place like this is to get away and enjoy non-technology things in life and that is exactly what you can do there. This is a place my family and I have gone to for the summers for a few years now and he flexibility of the place, the restaurant, staff, events, and amenities are pretty great. The restaurant is amazing but definitely more than what you would spend at places closer to home, but for what you get it is worth every penny. The staff is amazing and always helpful. The events they plan through the season are always enjoyable and entertaining. If by chance, you don't want to partake, that is okay too. The amenities they offer including the store and bathrooms are usually quite available and accessible. The store has just about anything you may have forgotten at home, including some ice cream, and extra fishing gear for those who underestimate the cleverness of the trout. They have two bathroom buildings and I don't really ever remember having to wait long, if ever, despite it being sold out or full for the weekend. Dogs and kids are always welcome and accommodated which is big for me personally. The staff know their names just as well as ours by the end of the season. It can get a little crowded and busy on the popular weekends but very rarely does that impact our enjoyment and sometimes makes it more lively. It is definitely more quiet during the week if you are looking for peace and relaxation without other people around, I enjoy both sides of the spectrum. They do have rentals available if you want to kayak, paddle board, or fish, or you can always bring your own as well. I think the only things I would like to see different is the enforcement of the "have your dog on a leash" rule but I wouldn't fault them for that as much as adults that should know better not respecting the rules and other people. read more

Klink's resort is overpriced and over crowded. Use to be a nice place but now they've added so many cabins that everything is crammed in. No longer worth the drive. Oh and $5 a person just to go swimming! read more

What you don't know until you actually stay there for the first time - The camp sites are very, very small. When they are full you are essentially camping on top of other families. This is true even for the tent sites. Our family rented a camper site and a tent site - when they started to fill up we literally ended up with having another camper's slide out a foot away from our heads while we were sitting at the picnic table - it's insane how tight the camping spaces are. We overheard one family tell the staff person who was showing them the small patch of grass they were going to pay $40 a night for no way - he wasn't going to try to fit his family on that little piece of grass - it was ridiculous. They had to find him another spot but it wasn't a lot better. They left the next day. Next - the employees don't enforce or live their own rules around when things should be quiet - between 10 pm and 8 am. We had staff wake us at 6:30 - 7 moving picnic tables around, setting sprinklers and maintaining the lawns. Also, pets are suppose to be on leashes and in designated areas - we literally had pet owners walk up to our very small camping site and let their animals pee and poop nearly at our door step. It was disgusting. Pets aren't allowed on the beach at all - there were routinely large dogs running off leash on the beach. Mosquitos - wow, more mosquitos then I've ever seen. We were literally eaten alive. Do some spraying folks - limit all that watering of the grass or something. The bathrooms, two in one building and two in another building - so four bathrooms to serve all of the campers they have managed to shoe horn in to their sites - they are tiny bathrooms and the showers are really a joke - one for men and one for women. When it was full, there was always a line. We spent a lot of money on our two little camp spots.......$450 for 5 nights. It wasn't worth it - save your money and go to a real resort. We left a day early - it was just too unbearable. The small beach and lukewarm water isn't worth it. read more

It is our go-to place because we know we get relaxing adult time and the kiddos are going to have a fun and safe time exploring and playing. Having an extraordinary restaurant on sight is of course, a huge plus! Chef Trevor is creative, fun, and has world-class standards for his food. Prices for camp sites, day passes, cabin rentals, and toy rentals are all very reasonable and the standards to which the park grounds and facilities are held to are impeccable. You can tell that the Klink Family has truly poured their hearts into making this little slice on the lake a wonderful place to spend your time.
