It is separated from Citi Field and the northern edge of Flushing Meadows Corona Park by the Grand Central Parkway. Built as a boat basin for the 1939 World's Fair, the marina was expanded for the 1964 World's Fair. It currently has slips, a boat-and-kayak launch, a ferry landing, and a restaurant/catering hall. Skyline Princess Cruises and Wheel Fun Rentals are among businesses that rent vessels or operate party boats and ferries there.

It is cheap there is garbage everywhere and there is more glass on the floor than fish in the bay. It is overrun by very incompetent boaters that invaded it and ruined it. it is truly terrible. save yourself the time and money and trouble and go somewhere actually nice. the people there destroyed it and swamped the ramp with boats and will NEVER move if you try and dock. People there are bullheads and will pull there trailers and hit you. these people do not even understand basic English. people cooking on the grass with many fire hazards. there were very mean jerk boaters that were in big rich yachts that were doing stupid photoshoots at the boat ramp they werent launching it they were just hogging it to post it on their LITTLE Instagram Stories THAT Nobody Cares About. It was sooo congested couldn't even get the boat in the water. It is a shame what that bay has turned into. We all miss old New York where you could ACTUALLY LAUNCH A BOAT And Not Get THREATENd. I am never going back.

So I'm starting out by praising the park as a concert venue to make up for my gripes about Central Park and PNC Bank Arts Center. I enjoyed the free De La Soul show here, which had good sound quality and a pleasant setup where you could opt for a close-up viewing of Eye Know and Me Myself and I or just roam around and still hear it. I wish I remembered who had the Yelp reviews that mostly focused on bathrooms, but park regulars know about the bathroom sort of near the LIRR train. It's not as glamorous or as clean as Bryant Park but it's mostly ok and open later than one might expect. The park isn't offering a wilderness facsimile like parts of Prospect Park but you can see birds and there are nice plants. The Unisphere is legendary.

There is always something to do year round. In the winter months, most people decide to venture to the aquatic center/skate rink or the Al Oeter Rec center. There is also a museum inside this park that showcases Queens art. Whether it's for a morning stroll or a picnic, this park has the space for anyone and everyone.
