My friend and I took a course where we hand-built a beautiful Hosta-leaf plate. Our class instructor, Wendy, was amazing! She has beautiful gardens at her studio and uses them for inspiration. She took us for a tour of her gardens and we were able to select leaves to use in our design. She guided us through the entire lesson. The first session we formed the plate and trimmed it and got it ready. We came back a week later to glaze the pieces (Wendy had bisque fired the pieces for us in between classes). Our second class we learned about glazes and we "painted" our pieces. We helped load our work into the kiln and Wendy had us pick up our leaves a few days later. We are going to book more classes! read more
