I travel a lot and feel lucky to have stumbled upon this high class facility for only a 15 dollar drop in fee. I wish I took some pictures like a class photo because my training partners were so warm and welcoming totally felt at home in the gi class. Oss.

I had messaged this gym on my interest in doing a drop in for a day or two. I received a response back with no issues. The place was easy to find and had parking around the perimeter. I walked in and was greeted by Jason (the owner) and Valerie. They were both very welcoming and all smiles. After the waiver, Jason took me on a quick tour of the facility. The upstairs was like a recreational room with a TV and a couch, with some locker rooms. I noticed it was very clean and well kept. You can over look the gym from upstairs. Downstairs, after passing a hall way with more locker rooms, you arrived at the main training room. One giant room to fit a boxing ring, a large area of mats (where we did our BJJ class), and a workout room of free weights and a large rig for pull-ups and squats. Brandon is their black belt instructor and he was very welcoming and enthusiastic when he teaches and talks. Great energy even though he taught a Muay Thai class just prior to BJJ class. A standard BJJ class on warm ups, followed up with instruction and positional rolling, with live rolling. I did noticed that Brandon goes around the class as he assist and watches his students drill the move of the day. I had no issues with rolling with any of his students or him. Everyone had great attitudes. *Observations of the gym* I did noticed there were times that Valerie would walk around to clean equipment or windows. This shows that they care for the gym and members. I'm not sure if they have showers. This gym does have a nice 'family' vibe to it, but I did not see any kids or know the policy of having kids around. Overall, great place to visit or to become a member.

First off, the gym is open 24/7 and has plenty of parking. The front desk team was immediately welcoming and offered me a tour. While I have been a gym rat for decades, a tour is always important to understand the layout and amenities, so I was happy the team understood the value of doing one. Training Zone has over four sections with cardio, strength, and stretching areas, in addition to a basketball court and three rooms dedicated to strength and cycle classes! They have a rooftop area which is critical for us over-heaters and a fantastic Kids' Zone which is included in the membership. Amenities seem endless, with locker rooms, showers, tanning, and bath rooms with sauna and steam rooms. The gym is fresh and clean, and has just the right amount of beast-mode vibes. Best of all, there is a Women's Zone! What a treat for us women who want to have a bit of a safe zone while lifting, bending, and stretching. Pricing is competitive with a membership costing $60/month. There are more layers here but overall I found the pricing to be fair given all that is included. Highly recommend and can't wait to sign up!

You can tell everything you need to know about a business by how it responds to negative reviews…read more And the way in which Chico Sports Club made false statements about me without knowing who I am, questioned my email handle as if I don't have a right to privacy, and then demanded that I had no right to say they were disrespectful, tells you everything you need to know about the character of this business. Poor character. Bad manners. Rude people. Bullies. Chico Sports Club is a poorly-owned and poorly-managed gym. Not sure why Chico Sports club cares what my email handle is. Also no threats were made, no intimidation, so that is a defamatory statement by Chico Sports Club, and they are subject to a lawsuit over making false statements in response to a review. And I have every right to say a business is disrespectful if they are disrespectful. That's called freedom of speech, and as a veteran of the Armed Forces, I will use my 1st Amendment Right to call out disrespectful businesses. Don't ever give these people a cent. They are unsound. My review was well-written and objective. Chico Sports Club's response was unhinged, insulting, and defensive of their bad behavior. The front desk staff and personal trainers are the only reason why this place is still in business. It certainly isn't because it is being run by a competent owner or managers. Every time I went, at least one machine I wanted to use was out of use, often times for long periods. Days, sometimes a week or more. Sometimes weeks. The steam room had issues on a few occasions. The banister in the exercise pool was broken for a long period of time. The main lap pool is shared with various groups, so the few lanes that are available, are being rented out to outside groups every day for several hours a day. They leave one or two lanes for the members I think. But that's not a lot when you have regular gym members using the pool and outside groups splitting about six lanes. The pool itself is in terrible condition. I don't think it's ever been redone. I often found things like bandaids, large bugs of various kinds, cement chips from the pool bottom. Etc. And, if you pushback against Chico Sports Club raising member prices and fees, they cancel your membership and blacklist you. Doesn't matter if you're a disabled veteran. Another 1st Class business in Chico. Chico Sports Club is disrespectful to disabled veterans.
