Willy did a small job for me, on short notice. I'm very thankful for that! I was very happy with the daily cleanup around the house. I did have to ask for a few spots to be better sanded than they were. Willy was able to have his crew re-sand some items before finishing the job, and everything looks fine. One learning point for me when doing painting bids in the future, to differentiate between a light, medium, or hard sanding, when asking for a quote. We worked it out, and the job turned out well. Let me first say for those who won't read this entire review. Willy does great work! He is fair, easy to talk to, responded quickly to my needs an gave me a good price. My house was no easy job whatsoever. I got 8 bids from other painters here off yelp and the majority turned me down because my house was just too old and too damaged. She's built somewhere in 1870 something (before tax records) so I am constantly having problems with any contractor I bring here. It's extremely frustrating and disappointing. Willy from the get go was positive and reassuring. Him and his team really had to put in overtime and deal with my numerous concerns I had just in general with this house. He even took time to talk to my neighbors and reassure them about the process. He had to remove lead which made everyone nervous but they tarped off my entire front of the house. We only painted the front and side corner this time as I'm not super rich and this house I have to.. well... eat the elephant one bite at a time. I will for sure be hiring him back to paint the other sides next year. Right now I'm so very happy to come home to my house! My neighbors are constantly congratulating me and telling me how beautiful she now looks. It's still got a ways to go like new windows and getting rid of that awful fence. But this was a huge step in the right direction. I actually cried tears of joy and relief the first time I saw it done. I was looking for a painter for my mom and found Willy through Yelp. He responded very quickly and was able to come out the next day to my mom's home in Alameda to provide a quote for the job (which was much more affordable than the other two paint companies she got quotes from). I'm writing this review on my mom's behalf - she's extremely happy with the job he did and is very happy she hired him! Willy and his team painted the entire interior of my mom's home (a two-story house, about 2100 square feet). They were very careful moving furniture around and covering everything, and she loves the way the paint job turned out. She was very satisfied with their work, so much so that she actually hired them to also renovate her backyard - tearing out an old deck, building a new deck, and placing outdoor tile. The backyard now looks BEAUTIFUL! Willy and his team worked very hard to make sure my mom was happy with their work. They came everyday on time and made sure to clean up at the end of each day. We recently hired Willie and his team to repaint the exterior of our larger craftsman home. Willie's bid was competitive. We chose him based on his bid and the numerous 5 star reviews. We were not disappointed. His painters worked incredibly hard. They did an amazing thorough prep job that took several weeks. Even with all the prep, they cleaned up each day and left the place safe for our cats and kid. Willie was very responsive and attentive. He checked in frequently. When we asked him to do something he was never defensive and found a solution. We have custom ironwork on some of our windows and when we learned we could not easily remove his team of painters expertly painted around.  When we spotted a couple of areas that needed minor touch ups he immediately responded to fix. Willy and his crew painted the inside of a rental apartment for me. They did an outstanding job. I couldn't be more pleased. It had not been well cared for and looked it. Now it is immaculate. They painted louvered folding doors, insides of closets, shelving, ceilings--and cleaned everything up after. They completed the job ahead of schedule. It looks wonderful. He even oiled the wood finish interior doors which were looking very worn. A vast improvement. Willy is a pleasure to work with. He asked for three days and finished, including cleanup, in two. After spending six weeks painting the outside of our 100-year-old house, I went on a HOME IMPROVEMENT HIGH this fall, and decided it was FINALLY time to take down the popcorn ceiling in our living room and dining room. And repaint the office. And give the whole upstairs a fresh coat of ceiling paint. And add a decorative beam upstairs to hide a stupid old electrical conduit to nowhere. I KNOW, I KNOW, I should have messed with the ceiling BEFORE we moved in. But I couldn't. Because my mother-in-law told me (in her "Joyce way") to "take that stinkin' popcorn ceiling down NOW before I regretted it" and... I just had to defy her. I had to prove it could be done "later" without the world ending. So! SEVEN YEARS LATER... Enter Willy + Co. SuperHubs wanted to KILL ME for sending Willy over to our place for an estimate just a week after our exterior paint crew FINALLY left. He was sure my idea to "spiff up the ceilings" was also going to take six weeks and, at that moment, the decision to go for MORE painting was perhaps the biggest gamble I've ever taken with our home. And our marriage. And our LIVES. But it only took Willy FOUR DAYS to finish the whole project. AND - that was with an extra do-over of one part that he totally took responsibility for and didn't balk at; he just got his crew back the very next day (Saturday) and finished the job, only adding one day on. They were also super clean and organized - while taking down POPCORN CEILING in my LIVING room - it was hardly even disruptive. After watching a paint job drag out for SIX WEEKS (albeit, a big exterior one on an old house, I know), it was crazy refreshing to see a well-manned crew just attack a project like that: get in, get it done, and get out. After researching numerous painting companies, we decided to hire Willy's Painting. Willy was responsive and as others have mentioned, very detailed about the work the crew would do. Power washing, sanding, scraping, primer and paint were as described. I want to also mention that the taping, plastic sheeting and protective paper were especially important to a job well done. I had Willy's Painting paint the exterior of my large, 1920's Mediterranean house in October. Willy and his crew were wonderful from start to finish! Willy came to give me an estimate the same day that I called. The estimate was was reasonable and the work proceeded according to schedule. The workers were also very conscientious about closing gates and doors so as not to let my dogs out. I was impressed with the time that the guys took to prep the house and with the quality of the painting. Included in the bid, was having my front door refurbished. Willy had bid the door as a light sand and stain job, and that's how he approached it, but when the result looked blotchy, he and his workers stripped down the entire door to bare wood (clavos nails and all) and re-stained and varnished it. Willy did not ask for more money for the increased effort, probably figuring he was responsible for not bidding it correctly. That is integrity! Willy also had his crew spray paint a couple of gates for me and he did not charge me for the extra work. I would recommend Willy's Painting to anyone, without hesitation and I am planning to hire them for some interior painting soon. read more

Just had Willy paint my bedroom which is quite large and has vaulted ceilings so although just one room, it was a pretty big job. Willy came to my house the same day I put in a request here on Yelp for a quote. The quote was reasonable and the finished result was excellent. The only thing that could have worked better is what it took to get a date when he would start the project. That took a bit more effort than I would have liked (not uncommon when working with contractors), but that minor inconvenience wasn't enough for me to drop a star. Another company gave a quote without even looking at the house) Willy gave us a quote on the spot after throughly inspecting the house (no waiting). Repeat customer here!! Once again Willy came to the rescue! I knew his work style already from his previous job and he was my first call to paint our new home before we moved in. Of course the job was last min!! We weren't seriously about painting bc we were looking to close on Friday and move in on Sunday. The job requires at least a couple of days from what I understood (3 bed 4 bath townhouse). But Willy brought 7 men crew and completed the job in ONE DAY!!! I was sooo impressed!! They showed up every morning at 8:30 on the nose and worked Saturdays too to get the job done as quickly as possible in the timeline we had discussed. First off, Willy is a friendly dude. He listens to all of your requests and recommends good choices in terms of painting and color selection. He is very flexible especially with last minute schedule changes we had. He is prompt and professional. We almost had to reschedule again after our electrician cancelled on us the 2 days before his paint team was scheduled to paint, luckily Willy knew a professional electrican who could hook us up on really short notice. (5 stars on that alone!) Willy was able to keep us on schedule and got the job done according to his estimate. He had a team of 3 for 3 days in our SF apartment. They sanded and painted all our doors which had hella layers if old gross yellow paint. Smoothed out the walls of the holes. He did our entire apartment: walls, ceilings, closets.
