From the time I walked in as a new patient I knew I was in a special place. Everyone was friendly, professional and the MOST thorough exam in my life. My husband who likes to "eat rocks", as I jokingly tell Dr. Duggard has had multiple crowns during that time, as well as a couple of root canals. I, on the other hand have only had a broken tooth that required a new crown, and recently had to have two molars that required repair just before embarking on a long trip. I was concerned that this could be accomplished in the time frame before we were to leave. No problem, Dr. Duggard says, we can do it, and he did (in less than a week)! He has his own dental lab on site! Most of my visits have been to see Kayla, the best dental hygienist in the world! I have had many over my life time of 78 years, and there have none who came close! Dr Smith also installed a bridge which was of poor quality and did not fit properly. I was in severe pain however; his office did not correct the problem. I had to go to another endontist and dentist to fix his mistakes. He has a reputation for recommending dental work patients do not need. He allows his assistant to perform work they are not qualified to do. I had to refer his practice to the Health Dept. I received a letter from them stating his practice was cited for poor health condition. This can be vetified by checking with the State. Please beware of this dentist. You will not leave his office without a lot of recommendations for work you do not need. His staff is excellent. Everyone is nice, don't be fooled. It will cost you a lot of money and possibly pain.

It's right across from the Germantown public library on Exeter road. I've been going here since December 2009. All the staff members are so nice from the receptionist to the dental hygienists. I took them time to carefully fill out the LONG medical form, and listed my issues. When I met the dentist before my cleaning, he asked if I had any concerns. Um, "just the ones I listed on my form." He said "ok" then left. Didn't ask what they were and it was clear he didn't preview my forms. You would think that when accepting a new patient into your practice you should have at least a cordial conversation that includes reviewing your patient's dental history and/or problems with them. Nope. Didn't happen. I don't think he even looked over anything I filled out. I like the feeling that I am being cared for by any medical / dental provider, and that they care about my health. I did not get this feeling from Dr. Skidmore, so I will not return.

The new dentist explained he was glad I came to him because this could have caused more problems or led to an infection. I was really disappointed in this office for their incompetence and pain dismissal of black patients. Also when I came in they didn't verify the pricing of my visit with my insurance. Instead they saw me and sent a bill. When people are in pain take it seriously instead of trying to milk them for money and dental benefits.
