The only reason they get two stars is because literally every single person I interacted with was amazing. Except Dr Singh. Gawd forbid you're in a holding pattern and waiting to establish care somewhere else but need help now. He didn't say a word to me or the tech. I got nothing voluntarily from him. Including what was going on with my gums. He obviously didn't care about me as a patient, let alone a person. It's a shame this practice has so many amazing employees. The picture is what I was hoping to prevent. Two months ago. And today I find out he's the only "doctor" there. I have one month left of this crap before I see my new dentist. Thank you, "Dr" Singh - because you let me walk out of your office with what was apparently necrotizing gingivitis. I really appreciate that!! read more

I never leave reviews. Ever. I don't have the time, attention span to get through all of the minutia while navigating through Google or yelp to simply leave a comment or a star rating. However, when a service/business really goes above and beyond to make my experience positive, I believe it is very important to have a credit where it is due End rant. I have been to Dentists that would make Hannibal Lecter look like Daniel Tiger (I'm a dad... that's the only comparison I could think of right now ) and, thankfully, they're getting easier to identify; no eye contact, little to no communication, asking what type of insurance we have before any attempt at a polite greeting, suggesting a ridiculous amount of dental work followed by zero explanation of WHY, without first, asking about the initial reason you are there, and lastly, racing from room to room at a speed that seems cartoonish in order to get through their 50-75 patients a day as the only dentist in house...etc etc. same old GD racket. WITH ALL OF THAT SAID, the young Dr. Singh at Wilson dental in Dryden NY, immediately put me at ease by showing none of these behaviors. In fact, he did the complete opposite of all of them. I felt seen and heard. I wasn't just another Medicaid ID #. It was such a relief and I couldn't have been more grateful. Lastly, while the young Dr Singh was treating me like a human being, the woman at the front desk along with the hygienist in the room with me, helped tremendously by keeping an eye on my daughters in the waiting room and really went out of their way to make sure that they were comfortable while waiting for me. I cannot say enough good things about the positive and consistent experiences I continue to have at this dentist. I'm hoping that the staff will eventually read this and know how incredibly grateful I am after years of seeing the worst dentists possible. read more

I had my first appointment there not too long ago, the front desk, and technicians were all great, very friendly. But the provider, he doesn't seem to care. He was sort of snappy when I was telling him what my problems were. And then at the end of my appointment, I had to ask him to prescribe me antibiotics after being told that I had an infection in my jaw His words were "I mean, I could I guess, do you want an antibiotic?" Which, why would I not when I have an infection? He looked to be relatively young, so maybe he just lacked the experience. But I don't think I will be returning. read more

This location does not provide root canal treatment for molars, will schedule you months out for any procedure that isn't a cleaning. The crew at this location didn't take a xray of one of my teeth for two years which had been showing signs of decay since well before 2020. If I didn't have bad insurance I'd go elsewhere but it appears that if you have bad health insurance your teeth are bound to rot in central New York because of businesses like these. And it sucks because I wanted to think that this was going to be a place that would actually help me and I would get somewhere here but it's just shown me that until I can get better health insurance I can't get better teeth because everywhere else is no better and after two years of being here my teeth have yet to be saved except for one. Don't get me wrong the women here work hard, I'm sure this job is not easy but I just wish that in spite of the difficulties they'd care more and would do better. Im pretty sure it's just one dentist working there and the rest are hygienists or assistants. They need more experienced workers there because it just seems like they are overwhelmed and hate it. And to be honest so am I. I hate that this is my only option, and that I won't get anywhere here until the people that work here can learn how to clean out the inside of your teeth (you know like a dentist should be trained to do at school) and the appointments don't get scheduled out 6-8 months out. (Ridiculous) none of this will happen they'll just do what ever little they can and get paid probably more than most people in the county... so sad. Atleast that would be my review if the old dentist was working here now the new one is even worse. I had a female dentist there who was absolutely fabulous and I cannot remember her name. I was living in that area for a short time and had to get a new crown on a molar as mine broke, this woman got it covered for me by Medicaid and she was gentle, professional, as well as having a great humorous personality. There was even a therapy puppy on site I got to snuggle while having the work done! That's ridiculously wonderful as I am an overly anxious dental patient! I guess if all of you lived in California where I'm from you'd better know the horrors of being treated through Medi-cal by doctors and dentists who have literally no time to be gentle or kind because we have such an overpopulation. I got better medical and dental in NY than I had my whole life in the SF Bay Area. read more

This place is very cluttered and way too small. There was a cardboard box full of toothbrushes and floss at the base of the exam chair, right where feet would go if you were walking to the chair. Machines are crammed into tight corners. The hygienist was decent, the dentist was very fast and interacted with the hygienist but not me. I was scheduled for a follow up in 6 months - Wilson canceled, rescheduled me for a YEAR out... Cancelled again. How in the world do you cancel an appointment made a year in advance two times?? It's hard to believe this is a recognized dental practice. They have scheduled my family for the wrong procedure more than once, even going so far as to cancel an appointment the same day. At one time we even begged them to self-pay because we had been awaiting insurance approval so long and they wouldn't do it - we took it upon ourselves (at their encouragement - apparently their support staff don't support) to call the insurance company to gain the approval and still had another month delay. No compassion nor apologies given their errors, nor really even any seeming awareness of how scheduling the wrong procedure (MORE THAN ONCE - a whole appointment was wasted this way once when we went in for a broken tooth and had fillings done to other teeth with no address of the broken tooth - a follow up appointment was made for the broken tooth we went in to address) is kind of a big deal. Shocking. Where are the good dentists nowadays?!? Help? Reporting officially as well as the whole situation is fairly out of hand and if we are having these issues I can only imagine what is probably happening to so many other people. read more

THEY WERE CARING AND FRIENDLY AND WILLING TO LISTEN PATIENTS I had my first visit today, and I was very surprised by their friendly service. I had a horrible experience with Tompkins Dental and had to find a new dentist. They deserve more than 5 stars. DENTIST I am very glad that I got to meet her. The thing I liked about her was that she actually listened to my stories. Not like Tompkins Dental dentist who did not give a S about what I said, the female dentist actually listened my stories and answered all the questions without expressing any irritation and without rushing me. I came here due to tooth pain that I have had for over 3 months. Tompkins Dental said there is nothing that they can do about my pain after making me go through cleaning, wisdom tooth removal, and fillings when what I really needed was treating my tooth pain. This female dentist actually wanted to do something. I am hoping that my pain will go away through my next appointment, which is next Friday. i will update on how it goes. The person who took my Xrays was very kind and friendly. RECEPTIONIST All the bad reviews about Wilson Dental are about the receptionist being unfriendly. I can kind of see why people might have felt that way. I actually felt that the receptionist was not friendly during my very first phone call. But through my numerous phone calls with her, I realized that her "unfriendly tone" is just the way she talks. She is actually really nice and willing to help the patients. I had to ask her a lot of questions and ask help to get transferred my Xrays from Tompkins Dental. She never expressed any irritation but was very willing to help me out every time. She never rushed me. Overall, I am very happy that my experience was very positive here. I wish I decided to go here first instead of Tompkins Dental. read more

I only wish to deter people from using Wilson Dental as their dentist. Do not go here just because you are poor and on Medicaid, because that is what I did and it was terrible. They told me I needed two root canals, multiple cavities, and that four or five of my teeth were going to fall out soon and they were shocked no one had told me this sooner. Two of the women that worked there put on quite a theatrical event about the whole thing. Talking quickly to themselves and me, slightly hysterically, telling me all the specialists I need to go see while trying to schedule me for root canals and fillings. Needless to say I got a second opinion from a professional. It cost me $90 out of pocket and the piece of mind it provided made it more than worth it. She assured me I had no cavities and needed no root canals. Several of my teeth were loose and might need work in ten or twenty years... I can not say if the theatrical spectacle I was shown at Wilson Dental was malicious, but ultimately it cost me more money to double check their negligence, and my experience there was completely useless. The cleaning I had done was ok. If you go there for a cleaning, just completely disregard anything else they tell you, unless you want to spend more money proving them wrong. read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!! They will cancel an appointment that you've had for a year if you are TWO MINUTES LATE. They make you wait six months for an appointment and then you take a day off work to go and they cancel it! And lateness aside... if your tooth is broken, they will book you six months out to fix it, and then call to cancel two weeks before the appointment because the dentist chose to take a vacation at the last minute. The receptionists and dentists truly DGAF about your dental health. They couldn't care less about your wellness. AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS PRACTICE AT ALL COSTS. I've been going for years and have now decided to switch dentists because the disrespect this practice has for it's patients has truly gotten out of control. I rate this a 0. I wish I read the reviews before I went there. It took them an hour to tell me I have cavities. I knew I had gingivitis and she did not tell me I had it until I showed her a picture of my gums as if she didn't have a direct front row seat to them. I cannot rate them high enough! I have such teeth issues and they have never shamed me, judged me, or lectured. They always seem so nice and understanding. If i could give zero stars, I would. Any place that turns away a patient who is in extreme pain with a broken tooth for being two minutes past a ten minute grace period that the patient know nothing about, because of traffic and an accident that was blocking traffic - with shocking and appalling callousness - deserves zero stars. Really pathetic customer service. My appointment would havIfe taken a bit of time if I had made it on time, so there should have been no danger of a two minute lateness jeopardizing any another patient appointment. The receptionist actually seemed to ENJOY telling me the appointment was cancelled! Even after pleading and telling her how much pain I was in, she seemed to enjoy it even MORE when she said there was nothing she could do, without even checking with a dentist. Honestly the worst experience I've ever had at any business. To start there was a huge breech in confidentiality as the front desk openly talked on the phone with my insurance about me and my fathers social security information and details such as birth dates and what not. The front desk is open in the waiting room full of patients which seemed very odd to me that they would talk about my private information so loudly for everyone to hear. Then things got worse. I originally went in to have ONE filling (that had come out) refilled. They told me i had 12 cavities that had to be filled and booked me a month out because the wait was so long to get seen. The front desk told me it would be TWO sessions, and even had me sign a paper agreeing to come in those specific dates. i come in a month later, and the dentist told me they would work on a different section (Only 4 teeth, and not the one filling that i specifically wanted done first) and as i brought up some questions, she joked to her assistant along the lines of "if i were a patient i wouldnt be asking a bunch of questions, i would just let the dentist do their job and not stress them out" which made me uncomfortable like she was annoyed i had asked her questions. Afterward she joked saying I looked like someone beat my face up, how i look so bloody. It bothered me, but i continued to go still to my last appointment, WHICH I assumed since they had me on two sessions scheduled that this would be my last appointment and they would fix the ONE FILLING that i specifically needed done. They DID NOT even touch my one tooth, instead she decided to work on ONE other tooth when i had 7 more supposed cavities to do. Which meant they expected me to make more appointments months out. It was UTTERLY ridiculous that i waited a ENTIRE month, for one tooth that didnt even get touched, and was suppose to have all my teeth filled by the second appointment and she acted like she had no time for me. What was the point of making an appointment a month out, if they wont even work on what they said they would work on. This isnt even the worst part of the story either. It takes her four attempts to get my one tooth numb, she gets irritated and is complaining loudly about how annoyed she is with my tooth, she even gets up and shoves the light into her assistance head! then storms out to work on another client. When she comes back for the fourth attempt, KNOWING that i am still not numb, she persists on working on my tooth! despite VERY loud crys of pain from me. She literally told me to "suck it up and pretend its a tattoo" (since she knows i have a tattoo) and drills into my tooth! It was the worst pain I have EVER experienced!! It was ridiculous, i was LITERALLY and quiet VISIBLY shaking in the chair as she drilled away. she had ZERO concern for me and clearly only cared about getting me out of her way. She mentioned how she had no time to work on my teeth. Which is so unprofessional. Why schedule me an entire month out then?? The front desk was very nice, however the female dentist was so unprofessional i will never go there again and have made sure everyone I know doesn't either. She was so rude, so unprofessional and had no care for her clients. Shes apparently the only female dentist there, and really the only one working there. Be warned, its terrible! read more

I would like to advise anyone that goes to this office to keep all notes & and any billing information for at least a year. I have been dealing with billing since 12/2016 with a balance that they could not explain to me. I spoke to billing department in Binghamton and was told 3/2017 bill was put to zero and account closed has I have left this office in Dryden due to service and billing issues. Today 7/10/2017 I come home to bill in Mail for 4x the amount of the bill they zeroed out and closed. Plus a letter from a lawyers office in Binghamton threatening me to pay in 12 days or they will pursuer legal action against me. I am furious with the Dryden office and billing in Binghamton. The staff is very kind and always considerate of your comfort. Also, if you are without insurance and you pay the day of you get a discount! However, the reason my rate is only two stars is due to a breech in confidentiality that has me SERIOUSLY concerned. While sitting in the waiting room with several other patients I could hear the receptionist on the phone with an insurance company reading a patient's name and social security number. If I had wanted to steal that patient's identity, I could have. This gave me a flashback to when I first scheduled an appointment at Wilson Dental and we spoke on the phone. To verify that she had the information correct she read it back to me including my spill security number, address and name! I'm now concerned she may have been within earshot of the waiting room and not in the back office! She seriously needs to change her practices to better ensure confidentiality. read more

I chose this dentist's office because of great recommendations from friends (they are excellent with children they told me). The office accepts our insurance. I have had two cleanings, and I think the dental hygienists are very kind & gentle. I did not have cavities, so my interaction with the dentist was brief. I have been going to this practice since it was Dr. Seeley's private practice. Then Dr. Kang took over, and I liked him a lot. But since it has become Wilson Dental, it has gone downhill.Dr. Kang is gone, and I have never been told the new dentist's name. I do not feel like a patient, I feel like an account number. I had an appointment at 8:00 this morning, and arrived 5 minutes after, due to an accident that snarled traffic on one of the roads that I use to get to the office. The receptionist greeted me with "You were supposed to be here before 8!" When I said I had gotten caught in traffic, she replied "You should have planned better!" When I explained about the accident, she said, "Well, I suppose I better tell them you are here." I then waited another 5 minutes before being called back. When the dentist came in, I was greeted with "What side do you want done?" I replied that I was under the impression that both cavities were to be filled. her reply was an annoyed "Well, I only have 20 minutes to work on you, so I'm only doing one." After that, she spoke to me only twice, and then only to tell me "Let me know if this hurts." For the entire time I was in the chair, she complained to the assistant about how "Lisa" in the main office was incompetent, how she should not have a job, that the scheduling for assistants was totally making her life hell, and accusing the assistant of lying to her about when he knew about the scheduling issues. She complained that the stock of topical anesthetic was not being replenished, and blamed this on "Lisa". It was very apparent to me that I was not very high on the list of things to be concerned about. Today was the second filling I have gotten from this dentist, and both of them feel rough against my tongue, unlike any other filling I have ever had. My son also had fillings today,and he commented that the dentist was gossiping about the patient in the next room while she did her work. To top things off, even though I have dental insurance, I was expected to pay the full amount of both appointments today. This is quite a change from the accustomed practice, where insurance was estimated, subtracted from the total, then I was expected to pay the difference. Any resulting balance from differences between estimated and actual insurance payments were billed. But not anymore. The invoice I was given today showed a credit- money that insurance had paid that was MORE than the estimate. I had no idea that there was a credit on the account. If I had been able to pay in full today, I would never have known it existed. I will be looking for a new dentist. read more
