This is not a reflection of the medical care my daughter received from Dr. Mark or any of the clinical staff in the office. They were great and my daughter got her braces off in, what I thought was record time, and her teeth look amazing! This is a review about the office and how the business takes care of its patients... My daughter got her braces on and off in great time, she got her retainers, and now just over a year later, when I was told the first set of retainers is free, this is what happens when you need to test the "free retainers". Though when she got her retainers more than a year ago, the assistant said something as were walking out that I should have taken more note of, and for that I was incorrect, she said to come in to get a new pair before the one year mark, however I do not think that a 16 year old girl, who took care of her retainers perfectly, until her bottom one cracked, is now being punished (by proxi) for not needing a replacement pair before the one year mark. Then to be hung up on multiple times while trying to resolve this situation, is just horrible customer care. I sent this to the office, "After spending more than $6000 (the highest price in the Southern Tier for braces) we are getting treated like this?? So now I have been hung up on 4 times, trying to resolve this billing situation. I am disgusted by my treatment at Hatala. After spending THOUSANDS of dollars there, you charge $245 for a replacement retainer, because its been more than a year since she got her first pair???? So we are being punished because she was responsible for her things? I was even "advised" when she got her braces off to come in before a year was over to get a replacement pair and not get charged!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was a patient of Peter Hatala, as was my mother before me. So I thought I would keep that going. But now, instead of praise, I will be telling EVERYONE I know, just how money grubbing and disgusting things have gotten at Hatala Orthodontics and your sick greeting "How can I make you smile today"???? You can stop trying to rip people off to start with!!!! My advice, save yourself $3000 and go to Muench Orthodontics, they actually adhere to their office policies and you will get your braces off nearly as fast, as my partner had his braces on and off in nearly the same amount of time just the year before my daughter got her braces. He said I should go there, but because of my family history with Dr. Peter Hatala, I was willing to pay more for her treatment as it was more of a family loyalty thing. I even had to argue with my daughter's father to get him to agree to go to Hatala. I see where that gets me now. Lesson learned. Update: Dr. Pat called and made everything right. Hatala Orthodontics is the BEST! Dr. Mark is so personable and is sincerely in your BEST interest. He will do what is right for you and does not charge any hidden fees as you continue your treatment. He is truly genuine in building a great relationship with his patients and making you feel as comfortable as possible! I have been going here for a little over two years and not one of my brackets/appliances has broken off! The staff here is wonderful and I can't possibly say enough! Each and every staff member has a great personality. They are always nice, cheerful and very professional! They are absolutely wonderful to work with! Dr. Mark is also training a new orthodontist Dr. Pat who is very nice, very educated and great to work with as well! I did notice that he has the best equipment and most innovative technology. Everything is extremely current! Not to mention the office is EXTREMELY CLEAN!!! I am so happy with my results and my healthy smile! My bite is absolutely perfect! OMG it is amazing!!!!! The staff are excellent and are so kind. Their game room also keeps kids entertained. They do braces perfectly and their care for them is astounding. The atmosphere also makes you feel comfortable, like your at the comfort of your own home. Also, they have lots of contests and social events including patient night out at the baseball park, like and share contests and contests were you can win things like tvs. So if you need a place to go... go to Hatala Orthodontics and you will be satisfyed read more

Dr. Hatala and his entire staff are so welcoming from the first visit to the last and beyond. The atmosphere is relaxing and puts the patients at ease. It's not your typical orthodontics office.
