They are doing work for a neighbor(didn't find that out until after this happened). Worker slipped between fences into my yard with a shovel, while I was eating lunch. Called 911, ran outside and yelled for him to leave. He never said who he was, or who he was working for, it was only after I walked to the road to make sure he had left my property that I saw the truck. Several days later received a letter stating they have the legal right to enter my property. Would have been fine with this had they knocked on my front door(I have ring cameras , I didn't miss a knock) Now neighbor relations are strained and I was extremely frightened. read more

Had Wilson come out for an initial land survey to find my property line and setbacks. They were able to get out and get it completed in quick form as compared to many of the other companies I contacted. But the 5 stars are more for my second time of using/needing them. Needed a last minute survey of a new foundation in relation to setbacks. Called them up late Thursday evening indicating my need and asked if they would be able to get me in asap as this was holding up my project. They were able to come out and perform the necessary work and provide the necessary documentation by that next Monday. Excellent service and great team. So, I moved into a house with no fence on one side of the property. To complicate the situation even more, the next door neighbor was selling his property. To avoid a big legal hassle, I decided to get a survey of the property and get All 4 corners recorded ( the County's records are a bit unreliable due to the age of the house). I called several surveyors in the area and priced them all out, as well as checked on there Lic. Wilson Land surveys Inc was at the top of my list. You see, not only did their bid come in at a reasonable price, they were friendly and VERY help full. I called and talked with Koen. He sent me references and a bid back in just a few hrs. He was great at explaining the process and told me how to verify a surveyor's credentials. Needless to say, they won the bid and came out in less than a week's time. Ken Wilson is professional and customer-oriented. I highly recommend him. We had the septic system failed. One of septic service company mislead us concerning how to repair it. They suggested to connect our house to the city sewer line, which is 800 ft. away and uphill slope. They suggested to pump the waste water at 120-130 psi to the sewer line. It costs us $85K connecting fee to the city and possible contract cost of $70K-90K (I guess). The president of this company said that they are the only company who can repair the septic system in South Bay. I wanted see how high we must pump the water to connect with the city sewer line. The measurement allows me to figure out how reliable the pump system is. I call 2 survey firms. Both were busy with one month waiting. However, after I signed the contract and placed the deposit, Ken adjusted his schedule. He could come to my house in 2 weeks. Right after I got his response, I found another septic service company of Hayward who is happy to dig and replace the old leach field pipes. It was 180 degree contrary from 1st septic service company, who said that it is prohibited to dig the old leach field pipe area due to the environmental/health issues. In addition, the DEH of Santa Clara County approved to dig and replace the old leach field pipes in the permit, too. After all, I found that all the statements by 1st septic company was false. They tried to make larger money with easy work. No customer-orientation. Ken was kind to cancel his appointment and discard the deposit. I like his business attitude very much and will definitely ask his service next time. After all, I have 3rd contractor (Langley Hill of Portola Valley) who said that it is not necessary to replace the entire septic system. They said that it is most likely that the pipes are corrupted near the septic tank. In fact, when they dug the ground, we found it. Langley Hill costs small money compared to $150K+ proposed by 1st septic service company. Wilson Land Surveys Inc. has the great attitude and behavior toward the customers in same manner as Langley Hill and 2nd septic service company of Hayward (A-1 Septic). All of them have 5 stars. Don't bother wasting your energy on this company. Not sure where all the other reviews have come from but our experience was less than stellar. Called Wilson to get a quote. Basic 'where are the boundaries of our home' on a flat lot right downtown on a small block of land. Spoke w/someone who said they would give us a quote in a few days after they did some research. 30 minutes after the call - called me back and said they were too busy, did not have enough people and would be unable to do the job. If I wanted to get a surveyor I should try Santa Cruz or Gilroy -what? We live in Los Gatos. Why would we call a company out of the area. Weirdest customer service. It is not like we needed the land survey done immediately. Very disappointed in this discussion, reasons for not being able to help us and the lack of interest in working with homes in the area. read more

We needed a boundary survey for our house in San Jose as we suspected the neighbor had encroached onto our property when he built out his garage. We contacted a few surveyors for estimates and Wilson Land Surveys were very prompt and professional in their response. They explained the process and the deliverables which we found extremely helpful, and gave a reasonable quote. We signed a contract, put down a deposit and Koen came out and did a thorough job. He showed us where he set down the permanent markers and also provided a lot map that indicated their placement. They also filed the Corner Record with the County of Santa Clara and let us know when that was completed. Based on this document and the markers which we showed the neighbor, we were able to put up a new fence on the correctly determined property line (and yes, the neighbor did encroach in excess of 18 inches at certain points). I talked to Ken about setting up the property lines of my lot. He explained throughly what was needed and the cost to get it done. I asked him to show up at 7:30 am so I could walk the property with him and show him the markers that I knew already exsited. He showed up on time, found the marks I knew of and showed me a few more that were on the property. Did a great job of marking all of the lines clearly and even spent a few minutes on the phone walking me through what some of the marks meant.
