It is 2019; 80 year old grandmothers have smartphones with cameras. If it's about flash photography, say so and let me take pics without the flash. Otherwise, a restriction on photography gets you an immediate downvote in my book. 2. You see three rooms and you can't even go in and look around, it's all roped off. 3. None of the guides knew anything beyond their script. Anytime anyone asked a question they said they didn't know the answer. Why are you working here if you don't know half the questions people are asking? Beautiful house, what you can see of it. There are two spans here, with the upriver (westbound) being the Cass Street Bridge and the downriver (eastbound) is the Cameron Avenue Bridge. They connect downtown La Crosse with Barron Island. It is only when you are on the La Crosse West Channel Bridge and you go from Barron Island to cross into La Crescent Minnesota. The Cass Street Bridge (the one that I drove heading west) opened in 1939 and replaced a swing bridge that was damaged in 1935. It is a cantilever bridge 17 panel rivet-connected warren through truss with a a total length of 2532 feet and a width of 30 feet. There is 67 feet of clearance below to the Mississippi. It is paired with the Cameron Avenue bridge that is more modern and opened in 2004. If you're here, do check out the deck truss approach spans which are curved. Another interesting feature is the stairways that are midway along the approach spans at each end of the bridge and allow pedestrians to climb up to the bridge sidewalk. The western stairway includes a crossover stairway that passes under the deck truss allowing pedestrians to switch which sidewalk they are walking on without walking across the roadway. Yes, the Mississippi starts somewhere up not too far north from here in Minnesota at Lake Itasca and flows south to New Orleans. This is where the east meets the west in the north. This bridge carries Interstate 90 and joins La Crosse Wisconsin to Dresbach Minnesota. It was fully opened to traffic in October 2016, replacing a previous 1967 plate girder bridge. The bridge consists of a pair of parallel, concrete box girder structures over the main river channel and precast concrete girder structures over the back channels. The bridge has two lanes in each direction and includes 18 feet of shoulders inside and outside. The bridge is rather boring with few features or accoutrements but it gets the job done. There is no toll in either direction. His tone of voice and his overall responsiveness made me feel like I was burdening him with a specific design. A design that was actually inspired by one of their works in the office. Josh had to make a phone call to the place that my father was buried to double check on size and unfortunately, the place was closed and will re-open until Oct 2. But he did say that there would be a time from 2-4PM where a person will be present to answer any general questions and he clearly said he would get in touch with me. Plus, he wanted me to email him a better photo of the custom designs on the headstone. So maybe he was just tired that day or it wasn't his day. But still.... it wasn't a very good experience. I currently live in Boston and would have liked a follow up. He never emailed, never called. I called today and again... it's the same feeling as if I'm creating a burden on him by asking a simple question. I will wait to see how things go, but never have I ever felt so passively aggressively be-littled by someone. I just want to create a headstone for my father and I'm willing to pay and give you business. The situation is already hard enough. All I ask is kindness.

They really have some special gems including a Subaru model that only 209 of were manufactured in 2019, so super rare. Adults $5 with seniors even less. The cars are packed into the location but visitors can access each car with360 Degree clearance so you can see the from every angle. The age of this collection goes all the way back to 1909 up to 2016 and each car is pristinely restored and maintained. Displays for each vehicles gives year, model, and model specs as well as cultural details relevant to its time. Really interesting! They capture the not only the timeline of the dealership since its founding, but aspects of La Crosse's specific history, the auto industry as a whole, and America's culture. The hood ornament collection and the gas pump illuminated signs really complement the value of this museum. All of this is accomplished by adding great graphics and neon to pull it all together. My only wish is that the building was even bigger to hold them and grow this magnificent collection. I am not knowledgeable about cars, but this museum was a delight even for people like me. I would guess about 40-50 cars and trucks are on display. Many convertibles! I spent about 2 hours here appreciating this beautifully curated collection. Oh, the space can also be rented for corporate functions and small weddings, too! Finally, It is never packed so it is easy to enjoy time here without having to fight your way through a crowd. Plus I hear they're renovating their top floors to add in studio space for local artists. Not to mention their great mix of programming from new release to family favorites and some cult fare.
