Though others reviews have shown that this station is unmanned, purchasing Amtrak tickets online are extremely easy and would recommend doing so prior to showing at up at the station. What a great way to see the countryside, chat with your seat mates and get across the state as fast as you can drive. They even stored our bikes up front and let us pre board to get them loaded before seating was called. Fun staffers escorted us and bs'd for a minute. Ticket checkers were cherry and it all felt like black and white movie. Stops were quick and efficient. Ride was smooth and quiet. The observation car was stunning while the light lasted and gave a good destination for twitchy legs. Snack and bar cart downstairs did us right too. Cost effective and a solid alternative to flying or driving. read more

Whenever I've called, or made a special trip to LSE to ask questions of an agent "between 10:15am to 8:15pm, no one is there, and/or it has been locked. My 94 yr old Mom wanted to buy our tickets in person. When it was open, no agent was there, and a cardboard clock like you would use in a board game was sitting behind the bars stating "I'll be back at 4:00pm"! We had better luck in 2017. There was no staff to purchase tickets . We called the 800 number after an hour of waiting at the station and 20 minutes on the phone we found out that the station would be unmanned and no tickets would be sold till Sunday . Today was Thursday . There were no signs no notices absolutely nothing . Very poor customer service . read more

I'd give them more stars but their customers service sucks big time in St. Paul. I'm not sure where some of these people got their manners from because they will be little you for the slightest things. I won't go into detail but, know that some of the staff here has some major anger management issues. read more

This review is for the rail fans if there are any on Yelp besides me. There is two Amtrak trains that stop here and the cp yard is with in eye sight to the north east. While I was there I caught the early 10:47 Amtrak and some cp freight action spilling into the station, not very happening that day. The BNSF yard to the north is where the action is. There is plenty of parking next to the platform and the platform is covered for bad weather. read more

Great customer service, beautiful location also a historic landmark, Tim, Brock And Mike (the Station Agents)are very friendly and informative. Call the station number 608 782 6462 to get ahold of a real person not a machine. They will book reservations and They can also hold the reservation so you can have time to make it down to the station and pay in person. Great for kids too! One of the only smaller stations left with checked baggage available. They will even help bring your bags too your car if their not too busy. Highly recommended, beats driving or flying. read more

This station is great small town station with amazing old wooden benches and all the fixing for a solid train station experience. There is plenty of parking and helpful staff, as well as a few shops and restaurants to keep you occupied until the train arrives. I just love the train...so this was a really fun place to pick up the train and ride home to Minnesota :) read more
