Quaint little resort directly on the banks of the Miramichi river. We were the only guests there on…read morethis weekday evening, other than one other cabin next to us. We arrived in the afternoon of another overcast day but the charm of the wooden cabins and beauty of the location in autumn colors took away the grey. We reminded them that we had a complimentary salmon and cracker plate, which they delivered after we checked in (yet forgot the wine that accompanied it) and our leftover wine helped wash it down. Unfortunately we did not have the requisite orange clothes to take a walk along the river - it was deer hunting season and hunters are known to shoot at anything that moves - so we could not walk along the river bank path. Too bad indeed! Our cabin was 2 bdr with a porch, with 3 beds, full kitchen, living room and a basic bathroom. We played pioneers for the evening, complete with a wood burning stove, and hit the sack early. No internet will do that for ya! After a barely defined continental breakfast - 2 bags of instant oatmeal porridge and 4 pieces of wonder bread type slices in a bag - with Kirkland coffee, not bad, we hit the road.

The wifi worked perfectly and the TV was a 55" and easy to use. We rented a movie for about $20 which was a fun addition to a great night spent here. We sneaked out late in the evening and snooped the event spaces which were numerous and obviously a significant part of this hotel's business. When zipping around in and out of our room, I was very happy with the elevators which had zero lag and were easy to use with the responsive card security system they have. The staff was super helpful when little things came up, so thumbs up there! Even though we were burning the candle at both ends that night, I squeezed in a quick dip in the outdoor pool after brunch before checking out and it was great! Water was warm and it was easy to find a towel at the indoor pool and then zip over and jump in for a refresher. Very cool that there is a dock at this hotel so if you arrive with your boat, there isn't a problem. And no boat? No problem! You can rent a peddle boat for a fun activity. Also there is a scooter rental spot on the side of the building so you can easily check out the trail system that runs along the river bank. Would love to go back and try that! The brunch at the restaurant was awesome! I got the revered New Brunswick style lobster roll, along with a seafood chowder and it was delicious! Friend got a granola cereal bowl, and fruit parfait and it was all excellent, including our table, right by the window by the patio area. We could have opted for eating outside in the glorious sunshine too. I asked our server to hang in there while I went for a quick dip in the pool when waiting for our order. We ended up bringing our stuff down to our table as the time dragged on past the 11am deadline since we were enjoying the moment. Check out the photos, and I highly recommend getting out of the downtown and into this place unless you really enjoy the urban environment as part of your visit.

We would rank this as one of the top 3 places in Fredericton area for breakfast (surprise, surprise!). Nothing fancy, but consistently good. The fish chowder is very good and hopefully they have biscuits to go with it ( they tend to run out of things! ). The place is lacking in a clientele; it is never more than one third full at the best of times. It would be a shame if it closes because it cannot reach out and build a loyal customer base. An innovative, vibrant marketer could turn this place around. OK - here is a suggestion: partner with a culinary school and have them revamp the menu, offer great new dishes based on local produce and use social media to market the darn place! It will become a killer destination with skilful demographic targeting!

You get what you pay for! We had a dog and we needed a place to stay after being in the road for a…read morefew days. Dog friendly but you have to pay $15 for a dog. The room was big. Had a living room and then a separate area for the king bed. It cost about $90 for the night. Plus the pet cost. We were glad to have a bed and it was nice enough. The biggest downfall was that the bath was clogged so when you were taking a shower, the water wouldn't go down fast enough; creating a big pool of water. It was not nice. They did provide a small brekky with yogurt, cereal, muffins, bagels and coffee. Overall not a bad stay. They are doing renovations so most likely we were put in an old room. 3 floors - next time we know. Lol

Parking lot inaccessible unless you want to pay more to access. All day construction. Every. Day. Entrance to apartment without required notice. Inept maintenance and management. Lack of snow plowing and sanding. Watch out for Killam. They play games to upcharge rent and will try and bully you into illegal lease terms.
