They installed a large landscaped area in my back yard and installed a drainage system for rainfall that was collecting in the yard. I'm very happy with the results. In particular, they did what they had to in order get things done the right way and make sure I was satisfied with the results, even if it meant work that probably cut into their profit margin a bit. If I could give less than one star, I would. As a business, they chose to turn the other way instead of right a wrong. Here are the facts: my car was parked alongside the grass that was mowed by the Wimberg team. My car was intact prior to arriving at my mother's - a little before 9am. She lives on a side street in Hyde Park, so not a high traffic area at all. It was a Wednesday morning. The Wimberg mowing team arrived shorty after I got to my mother's to mow the front lawn - both by the street and the house. After the team left, my car window was shattered with a long scratch along the side of my car. As shown, something was dragged along my car to create the scratch across my side car. This was the side right next to the lawn that was mowed. I asked the Wimberg team to do the right thing. I understand accidents happen, but I was refused. I filed a police report as well. The police noted this did not seem like a random break in as nothing was taken from the inside. Just hope it doesn't happen to anyone else getting serviced by them. As a company, you have the choice to do the right thing even when no one is watching. That's how an ethical business should be run. read more

I hired Wimberg Landscaping for a hardscaping project in a roughly 20x20 backyard fenced in patio. It turned into a several month nightmare for a variety of reasons. The owner is very defensive of negative reviews on social media, and has employees rating their own company (Julia), so I will be comprehensive and professional. I feel fine posting all this, because I told it to my sales person/project manager, the ops manager, and in the early stage the CEO himself along the way. I was never offered any compensation for issues. The process started with prompt feedback and a digital rendering of my proposed project. While this is nice, note that it means virtually nothing as the color and material types that were ultimately installed were completely different. When challenged, I was told to look under an unrelated section of the contract that it was there prerogative to change materials. The first task was to remove a tree. I was told a certain date on which they did not show up. Eventually a crew did without warning where they cut the tree down, but left the stump and broke several parts of my fence. Over the course of three weeks, I was repeatedly unanswered asking about when the stump would removed until I escalated to the CEO. Eventually, they came back multiple days in a row with a broken machine to slowly remove. Fast forward to this month, I find a huge piece of unmovable root left in the ground that was hidden by materials and landscaping until now. Work eventually begins on my patio to where more of my fence is broken. I come home to find the section we have been removing repeatedly had fallen, and my garage broken into with a bike and power tool stolen. I contact Wimberg to ask what will happen about the damage to my fence, and am told they can quote me to build a new one which is incredibly offensive considering they caused the damage. I'm eventually told it will be mended which leads to a patch-worked mess. Work continues about half-way; colors don't match our discussion, but I foolishly thought they were placeholders. We must stop halfway as I found unrelated damage to my foundation from water damage. When we resumed later in the year (not Wimberg's problem), the company's lack of professional attention to my project highlighted itself. They "finished" one section hilariously off kilter, picture attached, where they attempted to shave stones directly in front of the door to wedge in their inability to work out straight lines and making it clear my project is a low priority. I had to call this out, picture attached. After I make a fuss and review further quality issues, the rest of the level hardscape and stairs are "finished." I'm repeatedly asked if the project is complete instead of being told they could stand behind the project, I continued to find quality problems that were simple to observe such as chipped blocks, unsecured blocks, and a general inconsistency in quality across the project with the filler sand unevenly applied and a general lack of sharpness to the measurements. Stair edges are up to 3" misaligned and again stones were chiseled just to fit when it's against a flush surface. Installed plants and didn't get the ones I asked for/was quoted on one side. Told job is complete. Walking in, I push against my fence to check if it's secured, and miss by a millimeter impaling my hand on an exposed rusty screw. Get tetanus shot updated. Overall, I chalk up many problems to a lack of attention to detail on some staff, and having a sales person as the project manager. I shouldn't have to rely on a person presumably on commission for new clients for operations problems, I started skipping this person entirely and going to the scheduler/ops manager. I could tell the company was fed up with me, as I was repeatedly told Accounting was bugging them for me to pay despite the project not being complete. A star added for some flexibility and accountability from ops manager, but never felt the company overall wanted to make this look like a top-quality product. Expecting to need fixes soon. read more

The Worst Company EVER!!! Weed wacked the garden and put a slim coat of Mulch down. Weeds came back within 2 days. Paid FOR edging which was never done, weeding was never done. Cut my bushes in the shape of a cone and workers took 3 hour breaks. I would highly suggest that you do not hire this company. You do not get what you pay for!! Even spoke with the owner. Bills are sent with no details--just amount. Had to call every month to see if someone was coming--couldn't/wouldn't say when someone would be here--left detailed lists with my contact about work I wanted done--only about 1/2 would get done each visit. Storm door was broken and glass was left all over the ground--I have 2 dogs that easily could have had glass in their paws. Just received a bill stating that work was performed for almost 9 hours but I was home when they came, and they were only here for about 6 hours total. Told my contact via email that I would no longer need their services--they showed up the next week anyway. There seems to be no training about what needs to be trimmed when. Wouldn't use them again if they were the only landscapers in Cincinnati. read more

Everyone I've talked to has similar great experiences. Love supporting a locally owned business too, the owner is active in and gives back to our community. From the office and sales staff to the individuals who carry out the landscape work, I've been impressed by every interaction I've had. You don't have to worry that they are going to send some shady people over to your house like you might with other less professional landscape firms. I had landscaping designed and installed by Wimberg in the summer of 2018. I am very happy with the results. My problem is that any follow up or communication with the office is frustrating. I decided to have the area Wimberg landscaped maintained by Wimberg especially the first few years after the landscaping was put in. Getting someone out to my home seemed impossible and then once I did get someone out, they came every month even in the late fall. I called several times as I received bills stating they had come and cleaned up, trimmed and hauled away tree limbs and clippings even tho I never saw them and did not know they were coming. I constantly requested that they let me know in advance that they were coming out. I was actually put on the schedule and called once and they never showed. I called asking why they didn't show and Ryan said my name was accidently removed from the day's worksheet due to someone's illness. This last contact was my last straw. I received a bill for work done October 3, 2019 and then again November 6, 2019. The area never looked touched and who needs trimming less than five weeks apart in the fall? I was never contacted telling me they were coming. I called the office last Thursday questioning this work and I was told that Ryan would have to call me back. No return call. I called today (December 10, 2019) and I was talked to by the woman answering the phone with a condescending attitude and cutting me off by saying they will just write off the bill and cancel the contract. I wish I had seen some of the reviews posted. It seems that a big problem is intercompany communication and follow up with customer. read more

One of the most professional companies i have ever done business with. I got a knock on my door and they asked me if i wanted them to mow my lawn today, They advised to wait another week as front and back yard were uneven. Putting in new shrubs and even watered them when I was on vacation. Put in sod and the weather has been so bad it did not take. No problem, they will replace and advised wait until fall.
