They closed due to the effects of Covid-19 pandemic, like a lot of businesses around the world. I was stunned to hear because I loved it on my first sight, same as now. My sister and I went to China Gourmet 福州小吃for a quick lunch. The employee recommended us to buy plum tea 酸梅汤 at a Traditional Chinese Medicine store by Welcome Food. But it was the opposite of our route. So, I decided to go to a TCM store next to HMart. Just so happened, it was closed. Then, I saw T&M Variety. We have been back ever since. I came back because I like their operation. They utilize the available space to display their merchandise in cubicle shelves. They are more attractive than other TCM stores because the packages are fresh looking. They kept some items in the refrigerator because of heat and humidity. Only experts know how to prolong the freshness of dried herbal medicines.

A seven bag herbal tea treatment and a couple of supplements. My total bill was less than $50 including the prescription and the chinese medicine and supplements. I was impressed.

That has been the usual experience whenever I came here. They have traditional wooden cabinets with fresh herbal medicine. They also specialize in ginseng and other high end medicine. It's too complicated for me to understand. I am only here for dietary green tea. I tried to buy it at Welcome Foods. But they don't have the exact brand. The employees spoke fluent Cantonese and not many speaks Mandarin. I never speak English to them or rarely need to speak a word. I give them exact change. Cashier packs it up and I walk out the door. My provider charged $25 for 30 minutes and applied baby oil. Scheduling was easy via phone. When my husband and I arrived, the practice was run by one woman and one man, and the man performed the cupping. Unfortunately, the experience was terrible and disappointing. The cotton ball dipped with alcohol as it was used to create suction was heavily burned and blackened, and the inside of the glass cups was also dark and appeared unclean. The suction was extremely weak--some cups felt like they were about to fall off. My husband noticed the same issue before I did. Afterward, I raised my concerns with the woman, explaining that the cupping was unusually loose. Instead of acknowledging the issue, they denied there was any problem. I have extensive experience with cupping and know how it should be done. While the price was low, the lack of hygiene and poor technique are unacceptable. I would not return and do not recommend this place.
