I wish i could give my experience tonight less than a 1 star. My parents are residents and live in…read moreSugar Maple Ct and have been for a long while now since i was in High School and now 27. My father is well known in this community and helps care for his neighbors. My Mother also has friends in the neighborhood. I myself help my Father help others around the neighborhood. Things such had yard work, painting, animal care, and working with those how are older and whose movements have been restricted. I am saddened by the ignorance, absence of knowledge that there are indeed African American residents other than my family. I am aware of how African American race is perceived in the world. I also am aware that there have been incidents in the past, in the neighborhood dealing with theft and other negative events. Ive not only been advised about those things happening via email as well as letters but my parents know of incidents were things have been stolen from their neighbors. I often walk my dog or ride my bike at night. Tonight i happened to be riding my bike and apparently was called in on by a resident to security and was stopped and questioned as if i was doing something mischievous. It really is a shame for how long my family has resided at the residents to be looked at or viewed as if i do not belong. Lets flip this story just in case anyone wanted to play devils advocate. I saw a few people walking their dogs as i was riding my bike 3 to be exact.Would it be fair to call security to "check on things" after seeing each individual? I am asking for the community to become more aware of the residents and more mindful of the fact that there are residents here who are African American who do various things around the neighborhood and the first thought when anyone sees these situations happen is to call security this can turn into a much worse situation than a "review" .

While there are quite a few private preschools and elementary educations to pick from Sayre blows them out of the water. The quality of the program, teachers, and personal attention is worth every penny!   Our children have grown as individuals and have been exposed to amazing learning opportunities. The community really cares for each other. Communication between school and home is amazing. I am able to check in periodically with my children's teachers and get real time info. They really want the student to succeed! I think the best testimony to the school are my daughters; They LOVE going to school!!!!  Our children are so proud to show us their work and to tell us about their daily learning.  They are so proud of her school! We believe in Sayre so much we have wholeheartedly chosen it to be all 3 of our children's educations until they graduate. We cannot wait for our youngest to start school in the fall and to experience the Sayre way. ( She already sneaks in for morning meeting when we drop her older sister off!)

I kind of favor schools, not really because of academics (what they stand for), but for their…read morefootball programs. Yes, I went to UK because that was one college that I had applied to that actually had a football program! But unlike UK, this high school actually chose a mascot that makes sense. I have yet to see a cat of the "wild" species. Apparently, the students had taken a vote on Broncos, which is fitting! So it goes to write that I found out that this school, which opened in 2017, had started enrolling and by the end of the season, their football team was ranked 25th in the state! Can you believe that?! It is the highest ranked public school football team in Lexington! So for that achievement, I have a team to follow (not as closely as college football mind you); however, it is still something. Also, I have to write that their website was easy to follow, when I had scrutinized the scheduling and the tour was amazing, very beautiful surroundings and lay out! Apparently, their first game is a scrimmage tomorrow and they actually play more local high schools than last year, one will get to see them actually test themselves as the best public school in Lexington! Who knew that a high school could throw a football team together and have the team go onto being one of the top ranked schools, in football, their first year? AMAZING! To put it in perspective, rankings in 2017: Frederick Douglass #25 Tates Creek #29 Henry Clay ranked #33 Lafayette #57 Bryan Station #110 Paul Laurence Dunbar #159
