I love a good old fashioned drive in. It's cash only to enter with a $20 fee for outside food and drink. The concession accepts cash and card. The popcorn is the best! I enjoy the pizza too! No refills on drinks. But I love that a large ice cup is just 50cents. Rhe restrooms are small and outdated but clean enough It's always a good time here. Again the best popcorn ever. read more

It's date night! I wanted to surprise my husband so I packed the suv with blankets, beverages and pillows. It was a double feature movie for the price of one tonight and also the last weekend open for the 2022 season. My first time at this location which was easy to find off western and 70th. The exterior driving up gave great nostalgia vibes. The cost $7 per adult and the entrance worker was dressed in Christmas attire with a very merry disposition. I quickly realized that there is no longer a speaker needed hanging onto your window, 100.9 fm radio was the station to listen as the movie played. My problem was with my newer vechile you can't cut car off and continue to play the radio. I had to figure out quickly, in order to hear the movie I needed to move closer to concession stand, which has its perks. The bathroom was clean and well appointed with tissue and soap. The Concession stand: The food was amazing! I didn't take pictures but the pretzel, popcorn and churros were amazing! Most importantly to me, the customer service was superb! I love when workers look like they are having a good time (like their jobs) and friendly. Parking lot was adequate for many cars but I was glad for the smaller gathering. Everyone I spoke with was happy to be out and very complimentary about the nice drive in theatre. I will return again and next time with my nieces. Great fun! read more

The security guard was terrible. He was disrespectful about a situation that was a simple mistake. first timers and we entered the wrong lane and he came up to us saying "who told you to get in this lane?" with the BIGGEST attitude and proceeded to yell at us for 5 minutes threatening to kick us out and how he is friends with the owner and they won't dare to fire him. Emailed the drive in and they never bothered to assure that it was taken care of. Says a lot about them if they let a jerk who yells at first time customers. read more

I found out that you have to pay $20 to bring in your own food and drinks. I expressed my opinion that's it's silly to have to pay to bring in your own food that you've already paid for. I also said that I would be more than happy to buy their food instead, but that it was very low quality. Their response was to criticize my "snarky" (?) 'tone' and that no other theater allows you to bring in your own food. No, they don't, BUT #1 - You are NOT a normal theater #2 Other theaters have food that is much, much, MUCH better #3 charging people to eat their own food that they've already paid for is a different sort of ridiculous #4 when I expressed that opinion, you attacked. The fact that OKC even has a drive in theatre in the city is amazing. For that alone you have to go and it gets 3 stars. However it is stuck in the 60s and has never been cleaned nor fixed since then. The ground is beyond destroyed and dangerous. The food options are slim and the room is gross. Even the bathroom needs help. But it's a vibe ‍ even if it looks Sketchy, it's still a fun experience and you are in your own car. read more

From the minute I pulled in, these fine folks were friendly and accommodating. I mentioned this because I presented them with an unusual situation. They stepped up to the plate, allowed myself, and my party to enter and enjoy a great double feature (Despicable Me, Rise if Gru and Top Gun. Now you might ask why would anyone thinks that's special and deserving of a great review? Well when you show up in a semi truck, to a place that is not really set up for that kind of traffic, then yea I would say that's pretty accommodating. They didn't give me a second thought when I pulled up. Instantly they made me and my party a priority so I could enjoy a night out. I travel cross country in this truck and I am full aware first hand as to what people will do when it comes to my vehicle. It's rare! Everyone from the gate attendants to the people at the snack bar were friendly, helpful, and treated me just like everyone else. Drive-in movie theaters are a rare thing and they shouldn't be. Highly affordable. Not at all expensive for a family night out. Fun and different. When you are treated like family from the minute your tires cross the ticket booth is rare as well. I really urge everyone to take a night out...go to the Winchester on South Western in Oklahoma City. I will be returning. They have an atm. But all transactions are cash. The Winchester is a treasure. I came for a special event, a fundraiser for deadCenter Film Festival and it was the perfect way to celebrate and get together while still being safe and cautious. The concessions are excellent, and once you're inside the gates, you could be anywhere in space or time. You're surrounded on all sides by high fences, greenery, and the towering screen. I really didn't realize how tall the screen is. I will definitely be back soon with my kiddos when there's a movie they would enjoy. It was a fun thing to do, and something the pandemic gave back to us who had forgotten how magical the drive in can be! read more

This was just good old fashioned fun! We took the family this weekend, and everyone thought it was great fun. I haven't been to the drive in since high school, and it hasn't really changed. They do check and ask if you are bringing your own drinks and snacks. It is not forbidden, but you have to pay a $20 fee to bring your own. It may be worth it, but we just opted for popcorn from the concession stand. That's part of going to the movie after all! I would recommend this activity if you are looking for something different to do with friends or family. If you are going to be that busy there needs to be security. We got in line at 6:30 last weekend. People continue cutting in line, going through shopping centers to cut in line. The guy in front of us was literally accepting cash to allow people to cut in line. Got into in argument with someone for not allowing them to cut in front of us. 2 weekends in a row we attempted to get in. Both times we were in line at 6:30. After getting rear ended, having people yell at you & try everything to get in front of you WE will NOT be attempting again!!! read more

My boyfriend and I went there tonight and realized our car was dead and out of gas, a very kind man working there named Bob drove us in his golf cart as far as he could for us to get gas and then he put so much effort into helping us jump our car. What a fun place to watch a movie. I like the way they have specific areas for larger/smaller vehicles so no one is blocked. The concessions...oh the concessions. They only take cash for one. For two, the fountain drinks were flat. Three, the chips for the nachos were stale, the cheese was lumpy, and the popcorn was way over salted. But, all in all, fun was had and that's the main point. I'd say bring your own food & drinks, but they'll charge you $20 if you get caught, which might be cheaper than the concessions, soooooo....you choose. read more

What a scam! We showed up with a little bit of candy and 1 bag of chips. When asked if we had outside food at the gate we said yeah because it was sitting in the center console and visible and we thought we were going to get the "please pick up after yourself" talk. No. They said we can either throw it away or pay TWENTY DOLLARS to bring it in with us. So I had to pay $20 for food I'd already paid for that didn't even amount to $20 when I bought it. I've been going to drive ins around the country my whole life and have never seen that. The grounds/screen was great which is why it got 3 stars but what a greedy money grab. read more

I would recommend it if you have kids. It's nice to see two movie for the price of one ($13 for me and my two kids). If you bring in your own cooler they will charge you $20. I recommend doing that especially if you have dietary restrictions. The prices at the concession stand were higher than I expected. The concession stand personnel were nice and professional, which was a highly appropriated. The venue itself, could use a little work. In this day and age I don't expect them to have working speaker poles but they could label the rows better. All in all I give this place a 3.75. It can be a fun and nostalgic time. read more

The drive in is a classic experience! I love coming here in the summer with some friends and a truck bed. The tickets are pretty inexpensive considering that you get to see two movies for the price of one! They offer concessions and at the end of each movie they are available to jump any cars that need it. This place is CASH ONLY so hopefully sometime soon they will upgrade to taking credit. We came to drive in very prepared with mask and sanitizer handy, especially for bathroom. I was very surprised that they had worked very hard to keep the bathrooms cleaned throughout the night- not just at the beginning and towards the end of the night. The concessions were handled in the same sanitary manner. Very clean and with caution. Food was great and priced well. The security was on top of their game as well. They will let you know if your lights are on in seconds. We had a great experience. Thanks for allowing your place to be open in this uneventful time. It's kind of hidden back off of Western, you really can't see it from the highway either, but if you look for the sign (which is awesome, btw) you will see it. CASH ONLY, don't forget. The experience is fun, great for kids and families, obviously that would depend on the movie. The ticket prices are reasonable. The concessions are okay, when we went they had no "diet" beverages on the soda fountain, and the nachos were not worth the plastic bag they came in. This may have been a COVID innovation, the bag that is, but the chips and nacho sauce were not very good. Popcorn was great, and the experience is still really worth it. It may be worth paying the $20 concession price to bring in your own stuff as well, we didn't do that this time, but may do that in the future. I'm from Edmond and have shown up THREE times to watch a movie- you think I would have learned to to listen to there website by now- and the movie WASNT PLAYING. Showed up today for my last time ever and there were 20+ cars also waiting to go inside. It clearly says online the movie is showing. False advertising friends. $12 total for two people to see two movies? Works for me. Hercules and Guardians of the Galaxy (insert plug here for GotG. Seriously. So good. Might see it a third time and I hardly ever go to movies) this time around. Note: Get there early. If the movie starts at 7:45, it would be smart to get there at 6:45-7:20ish. Or your crappy spot is all on you, buddy. The staff is really good about directing where vehicles need to park (such as trucks at yellow poles, cars at silver), and they were friendly about telling us to move our car up a bit more with the pole to avoid a truck coming up behind us and bumping into us. They're also firm enforcers when it comes to headlights being turned off. It made me chuckle to hear someone come over the radio right before a movie and tell people to turn their lights off (because they -were- on). Why do you even need your headlights on? It wasn't dark, and with the screen it's never dark enough to warrant the need of them. The concessions looked better price than those at the theater, but we didn't partake since we had just eaten. You're able to bring your own drinks it looks like, as long as it's in plastic. The movies started on time and there were no sound or picture problems to be had! In case you didn't know, they no longer use the speakers outside of the cars. Instead, you tune into a radio station for the sound which I find to be way better. If I went in a truck, I'd bring a handheld radio and use headphones, honestly. There wasn't a particular noise problem, but having something directly in your ears seems more immersive. My only gripe is about the bathrooms. Pretty sure none of the stalls locked and they are tiny. So tiny. The lock thing is more concerning, though. Such as, sometimes a door is just barely shut so you tap on it to see if anyone is occupying it. If it tilts in, it's free. Right? No, sometimes it doesn't have a functioning lock and there's a little girl inside. So, ya know, be wary of that. Actually, it's a lot easier when there's a line. Sounds dumb, but it was rather organize. Someone leaves a stall, another person goes in. But the first time I went was during Hercules so it wasn't busy. read more

I always enjoy going to the Winchester drive in a couple times a summer to get a good deal. They used to do 3 movies for 6 dollars a person but this year they moved it to 2 movies for 6 dollars still a good deal. I always enjoy playing the arcade games during the intermission and i was happy to see they brought in a new game. However that is about all the good in my review. The bad parts about coming to the drive in is the bathrooms. If you have never gone to Winchester drive in and your a guy expect no privacy whatsoever their are no doors on the stalls and the bathrooms look like they have never been clean, and there is usually no soap in the dispensers. My last criticisms about the drive in is expect an argument whenever you speak to the owner about the movies playing. I wanted to ask how long the chimpanzee movie was going to be there because neither me or my parents wanted to see it and the owner turned my original question into a game of 20 questions on why we didn't want to see it. The biggest complaint is that the owner seems to have gotten lazy about replacing the movies. While the avengers movie was good they played it around 6 weeks this summer nearly all in a row and we were not going to want to watch the other movie that was playing since we didn't feel like watching the avengers for the 3rd time. Either way it is a fun experience to come to the drive in for a fun cheap time just pray that you never have to go to the bathrooms, unless you have your own hand sanitizer. read more

The staff and screen are good. Here are my issues though... the bathrooms need some work (dirty and run down), the food is mostly premade (so the burger bread is semi soggy, popcorn staleish, etc), and my buggest issue is that you park the cars 2 deep, (one in front of the other) but with all the crossover SUVs (such as a kia soul) no one knows where to park. Also, a lot of people park in the back spot and put their chairs in the front spot.... so they use two spots..... so dang annoying. read more

Its a drive-in, which are few and far between everywhere across America. But its great with a toddler that likes to move a lot. Popcorn was stale, like disgusting stale. My husband returned it and they weren't very happy about that. We are closer to the one In Guthrie and now that I've been to both locations we do prefer Guthrie. No thrills at either. read more

My wife and I live in Portland Oregon, there are no drive inn,s any more .we where in okc to see our niece graduate from Oklahoma Sooner .we stayed at the Hampton Inn off 77 and Western ,so we took advantage of the closeness and had a great time. Thanks we will be back. read more

I was kind of bummed we couldn't bring outside food but they have a decent concession stand with lots of options (little heads up it's still priced like theater food). So far so good, we are prepared, I brought the boom box. I figure if we stay for both movies, it would run the car battery down because these days you use your car radio or a portable radio to listen to the movie, no more hanging clunky speakers off open windows. It only cost $10 for my two children and I. That's a great deal! We brought a bucket of grilled KFC and drinks saving even more money. This is the first drive in my youngest child, Annabelle, 3, has ever been to. We arrived early so I guess it's a great time to teach her some of the instant debilitating choke holds and instant death pressure point strike locations I learned in Special Operations for her future drive in movie trips without me....... The movies we have come to see are Andreis with "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson and second feature is the newly made Mad Max sequel. Parking is well organized and they have spots arranged so that larger vehicles with lift up rear hatches park in the back of each row to ensure if they leave the hatch up with vehicle facing backwards, the hatch doesn't block anyone's view! Looking around, it reminds me of high school and my times at the drive in. Concession goods are looking pretty good with a decent selection and prices are not that bad at all. Winchester drive in is a good place to go for a double feature for the price of a single movie. There are no speakers, so you have to have a radio to hear the movie. You are not allowed to bring in snacks, so the whole idea of a bargain is wasted. The place is still run by the original family that opened it. Seeing that the weather is sometimes unbearable, the 7.00 price isn't such a bargain. It's a good place to go in good weather and you don't want to dress up. read more

Went here to see endgame and really enjoyed myself! Me and my friends went about an hour before the movie started and they told us the spots for SVU's were full so we waited around and it took awhile before they could actually find us a spot. We were in the back but still had a lot of fun. Make sure to bring a radio because we didn't know so we used our car and the car kept turning off and so did the audio. Save ur money and Dont go to this drive in , it's very bad bad bad.. The movies play for months sometimes , the owner is very very unprofessional & they sale to many tickets on the weekends & some weekdays that there's no more parking left and owner will give NO REFUNDS for their mistake.
