Date night at the drive in Xmas movies
    Rose J.

It's date night! I wanted to surprise my husband so I packed the suv with blankets, beverages and pillows. It was a double feature movie for the price of one tonight and also the last weekend open for the 2022 season. My first time at this location which was easy to find off western and 70th. The exterior driving up gave great nostalgia vibes. The cost $7 per adult and the entrance worker was dressed in Christmas attire with a very merry disposition. I quickly realized that there is no longer a speaker needed hanging onto your window, 100.9 fm radio was the station to listen as the movie played. My problem was with my newer vechile you can't cut car off and continue to play the radio. I had to figure out quickly, in order to hear the movie I needed to move closer to concession stand, which has its perks. The bathroom was clean and well appointed with tissue and soap. The Concession stand: The food was amazing! I didn't take pictures but the pretzel, popcorn and churros were amazing! Most importantly to me, the customer service was superb! I love when workers look like they are having a good time (like their jobs) and friendly. Parking lot was adequate for many cars but I was glad for the smaller gathering. Everyone I spoke with was happy to be out and very complimentary about the nice drive in theatre. I will return again and next time with my nieces. Great fun!

The truck I took to the drive in

From the minute I pulled in, these fine folks were friendly and accommodating. I mentioned this because I presented them with an unusual situation. They stepped up to the plate, allowed myself, and my party to enter and enjoy a great double feature (Despicable Me, Rise if Gru and Top Gun. Now you might ask why would anyone thinks that's special and deserving of a great review? Well when you show up in a semi truck, to a place that is not really set up for that kind of traffic, then yea I would say that's pretty accommodating. They didn't give me a second thought when I pulled up. Instantly they made me and my party a priority so I could enjoy a night out. I travel cross country in this truck and I am full aware first hand as to what people will do when it comes to my vehicle. It's rare! Everyone from the gate attendants to the people at the snack bar were friendly, helpful, and treated me just like everyone else. Drive-in movie theaters are a rare thing and they shouldn't be. Highly affordable. Not at all expensive for a family night out. Fun and different. When you are treated like family from the minute your tires cross the ticket booth is rare as well. I really urge everyone to take a night out...go to the Winchester on South Western in Oklahoma City. I will be returning. They have an atm. But all transactions are cash. Check out their Facebook and Instagram page as well. All you see are miles if smiles. Thanks Winchester drive in family

The Winchester is a treasure. I came for a special event, a fundraiser for deadCenter Film Festival and it was the perfect way to celebrate and get together while still being safe and cautious. The concessions are excellent, and once you're inside the gates, you could be anywhere in space or time. You're surrounded on all sides by high fences, greenery, and the towering screen. I really didn't realize how tall the screen is. I will definitely be back soon with my kiddos when there's a movie they would enjoy. It was a fun thing to do, and something the pandemic gave back to us who had forgotten how magical the drive in can be!

This was just good old fashioned fun! We took the family this weekend, and everyone thought it was great fun. I haven't been to the drive in since high school, and it hasn't really changed. They do check and ask if you are bringing your own drinks and snacks. It is not forbidden, but you have to pay a $20 fee to bring your own. It may be worth it, but we just opted for popcorn from the concession stand. That's part of going to the movie after all! I would recommend this activity if you are looking for something different to do with friends or family. You can bring lawn chairs, sit in the bed of a truck, or lay in blankets in the back of an suv like we did.

We decided tonight to get out enjoy a nice movie under the stars. Our son graduates High School tomrw and we wanted to celebrate with The Mandalorian Movie. First off, the only person who can eat anything they have is my husband. We paid for storm trooper popcorn buckets and didn't even want the popcorn and asked for them not to be filled so the kids could have them to keep as keepsakes for their rooms. We bought the souvenir cup and the one we ended up with grogu was misfiguted. My son took it back in they told him they can take it back. I get that, they could have made it right. We spent $36 to get in and over $70 on the two buckets, two souvenir cups, and a large popcorn bucket for my husband and his dip n dots. I do not know when the quality of the screen and picture got so terrible. We were in the front row and could not make out the characters in the movie. It was extremely dark. My husband went as far as finding a trailer and fast fed to part we were at and the picture was so colorful, yet chiefs was dark and hard to see. One character is red and you could even tell. We ended up leaving 40 mins in bc we were so miserable and couldn't tell what we were watching. Between fuel coming all the way over and concession, we had $200 in this night for graduation and nothing sadly to show for it.The screen and quality needs an overhaul.

The prices for drinks and snacks are so expensive though. The theaters are really nice with big screens and lots of seats to choose from. I love that they all recline and have a heat function. The reclining option makes the tickets worth it. Nothing makes for a bad theater experience like uncomfortable seats. You won't have that here. The sound is wonderful as well.

This place is down the street from our house so we decided to check it out . Glad we did , inside was well kept and clean and looked like the employees actually take care of this business . The lady helped us with our online tix we purchased and showed us which theatre we would be going to . Concession employees were very friendly . Bathrooms were clean which I'm a sticker for cause I hate hate hate using public bathrooms but the female bathroom was clean so big points for that . Actual theatre was clean no sticky floors or stinky carpet . Seats were comfy and movie was good . Only thing was the amount of money we paid for tix and popcorn and soda and candy , that stung the pocket a little but I told my Husband atleast we paid what we did and had a great experience vs a crappy one so there's that. We will definitely be returning when there's another movie worth seeing in theatre . Highly recommend checking this spot out .
