The authorities are out to get everyone who as so much breaths wrong there. They give off the feeling that they are waiting on every corner to try to catch someone to help fund the city. I know the fines help pay to keep the city looking nice and safe but it's a little too crazy. Go around this city unless it's for the lights.

"What did I do?! Was I doing 31 in a 30?! Did I unknowingly run a stop sign? Did a cop spot the red and green putrefying liquids oozing out of my trunk?!" I'm sure you can relate. On the evening of November 29th, 2018, The Mysterious Ryan M. was pulled over for the first time in his life. The AHPD officer couldn't have been nicer. He assured me that I had broken no laws but that one of my brake lights was out. After running my driver's license through SCMODS ("State, County, Municipal Offender Data System" -- thank you, Elwood), he confirmed that I was an upstanding citizen and let me off with a warning. I thanked him for alerting me to the problem (a dangerous one at that), because I wouldn't have known otherwise. He could have issued me a $200 citation, but his MO was to help, not to harass. The Alamo Heights Police Department gets a bad rap. Instead of making baseless claims about their character or labeling them the "worst police force in America," (shame on you, Julie R.) how about simply obeying the traffic laws? If a cop pulls you over for speeding, take personal responsibility for the infraction and thank the officer for doing his or her part to keep Alamo Heights safe. Honestly, now. How many times have you cursed the 30-mile-per-hour speed limit in Alamo Heights -…read moreor worse, the Alamo Heights Police Department, as an officer ticketed you for exceeding that ridiculously sluggish speed? Well, today I had a very positive interaction with those maligned keepers-of-the-peace-and-speed-limit, and subsequently just HAD to Yelp about it! This morning, my vehicle stalled while I was on my way to a haircut appointment. A suddenly disabled car is upsetting enough; but add to that, a very busy time - about 8:30 a.m. - at a very busy intersection (Austin Highway at Broadway), and you have an adrenaline rush of the worse kind. I had my hazard lights blinking, and people were swerving around me - probably saying nasty things under their breath - as I tried to call for emergency towing. Lo, out of the blue came uno, dos, tres Alamo Heights Police officers: one blocked traffic while the others pushed - and I steered - the car across traffic, safely into a parking lot! In addition, the officers checked up on me from time-to-time until the tow truck showed up, nearly an hour later! Now, it has occurred to me that they might have wanted to keep tabs on ME, to make sure I didn't just abandon my vehicle - or cause other mischief while I was awaiting transport (never can be too careful with fat middle-aged women, right?). I'm going to assume the very best, though, and suppose that these dedicated public servants are also Good Samaritans, who were concerned about a citizen's welfare. So, a heart-felt "THANK YOU" to the city of Alamo Heights, the Alamo Heights Police Department, and - most especially - my three rescuers. And I promise to grumble less, from this point forward, when I have to observe the Alamo Heights speed limit.

LT Worrell, the kids had fun with the water cannon. Everybody we dealt with from the reservation of their time to the time on ground with them was professional and informative. They were able to manage our small group and at the same time had people to handle the daily business, but for the folks in front of them, we had their every bit of attention. The kids were provided with goody bags, and were able to try out some of the gear, it was a very good opportunity we had to engage with the Windcrest Emergency Services. Thanks again.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that just about everyone feels that they have something special to add; however, when a disabled old lady/man asked to be let in line early, it isn't because they are out to inconvenience you or anyone else. Thank goodness the poll watchers and people who had volunteered for the 2016 voting sessions were there to put a stop to the chronic sense of entitlement to believing that they had priority over one another. Up until now, I have been deleting my own reviews out of fear of this police department and…read morepossible repercussions that I may receive. Well, today, I feel safe enough to post my experience. About a month ago, I had called this department to report a pharmacist who had blatantly broken the law (I had clear, obvious proof. The officer in question saw to ignoring that. She was blonde, short, heavier set. She never once gave me her ID, badge number, or name). When the officer arrived, I was met with an air of resentment, annoyance, and anger. I started to tell her what had happened. When she replied "Which CVS was it, honey?" and I told her it was the one down the street from me and her station, she immediately switched tunes. She began to scream and belittle me. I was terrified. I fell back onto MY couch in MY apartment as I had never expected nor been treated in such a vile way. "SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP!" she screamed, "No pharmacy would EVER fill that much!!" Well, yes ma'am, they would. And they did. I am currently sitting next to a recent Walgreens fill of 3 months, you absolute ignorant liar. You see, CVS had changed one of my prescriptions, illegally, from a 3 month to a 1 month with 2 refills. Illegal. I had told her initially that all I wanted was help in contacting the DEA or FDA or whoever is in charge of upholding that level of rule breaking. Clearly, the police were not going to do it, I came to find out. When I started to look scared, she began to look around my apartment - peering into my room - as if she was looking for probable cause to bring me in and arrest me. I believe she thought I was high on meth. Well, I wasn't. In fact, I was so terrified by this encounter that I turned myself into a psych ward, and all my blood work came back clean. Because I was telling the truth. The truth. I wasn't high, I wasn't in a manic state. I was telling the truth, and I have proof - still - that the law was broken by that pharmacist. I have been in touch with CVS corporate, and they have done more than your officer did. In fact, I am now in intensive therapy and on a slew of new medications because of the fear and terror that was instilled in me by your lying, vile, horrific, piece of s*** officer. I am still traumatized and scared, even by this review. After I reported her, I was stalked by officers outside my apartment. They stalked my car (when I would head outside to smoke, they would see me and drive away). I had officers who mouthed obscenities from across Jones Maltsberger to me as I was having a smoke break. These occurrences have since ended, but I cannot shake that unadulterated fear and terror that was put inside me by that one miserably uneducated officer. Learn the law. Listen to people. Stop assuming that just because you are an officer, you can scream and belittle anyone and everyone into submission. You incredible monsters have absolutely broken me - not beyond repair - but sent me into a mental state that I am still digging myself out of. I am now paying exorbitant sums of money for psychotherapy to help overcome my experience. All I needed was to be protected and served. I was neither protected nor served. This review is a warning to all future people who may consider contacting this police department. DO NOT, under any circumstances. All that will happen is that they will make it worse, or better yet, find a reason to arrest you and bring you in. Thank you.

You also need ID to enter the front. Once inside, it is beautiful, organized, spacious and the staff was so friendly and helpful.
