Stay away from SUHRCO RESIDENTIAL PROPERTIES!…read more During my occupancy of a Northview Terrace apartment in Federal Way, my unit flooded several times due to poor maintenance on the units, such as the neighbor's hot water heater rusting until it exploded, which flooded my apartment through the walls. After the first couple flooding events I started complaining to neighboring tenants that the management department never cleans up or sanitizes the apartment when it gets flooded, nor do they inspect for mold in the walls. Not only did I find out that other tenants were facing similar problems, but that tenants seemed to be warning each other that the rental company is billing everyone that leaves with unfair charges, and that I should start taking pictures and videos of anything that happens in the unit or they might try to put the bill on me. Shortly after, another flood occurred, this time from rancid- smelling sewage leaking through the ceiling. When I alerted the apartment manager, he saw that I had trash cans catching sewage leaking through the ceiling and his response was "Well, looks like you've got this under control". I was so disgusted that I asked for them to put me in a hotel until they got it cleaned. He said that they are not allowed to do that, and did not even so much as offer to help me clean. He left me to clean up sewage by myself. Sewage was all over my bed, the clothes in my closet were soaked, and the floor was flooded. It was mortifying. At least on that occasion, I decided to take the advice of other tenants and record video of the flooding. More floodings occurred since that day, including me discovering a pipe that had likely been leaking behind the walls for years. My main concern is that during my nearly 4 years at this apartment, my son and I were constantly sick, and it got worse every year. Last year I had to go to the ER, where I was diagnosed with an unknown viral infection that nearly killed me. Having to give my mother the password to my phone so that she could more easily alert people of my death was one of the most dramatic experiences of my life. Also, as my neighboring tenants expected, the apartment is charging me for damages, of over $1200 to the carpet and subfloor which was a result of the floodings. As a single parent and full time college student and there is just no way I can justify paying so much money for something that was their fault. Please help me get this out there so that nobody will have to go through what I've had to deal with over the last four years.
