I had called my boss before I went to the walk-in clinic and said "oh my gosh it looks like I have…read moresome sort of bacteria infection in my eye, if it's contagious I will get a doctors note just to follow protocol. Unless y'all don't care in which case I'll see you at the meeting Tuesday." He said get a note just in case, if it's contagious keep that crap far away from the office. I work off of complete commission. Also let's just put this out there adult humans shouldn't need doctors notes. But I am respectful. I feel like, "okay here's a note, You're decisions and your bosses decisions are none of my business, :-)" would be a pretty fair expected response from any doctor if the eye is a contagious infection. Nope. I just got into an argument with a DOCTOR (i think his name was dick) who told me my eye is CONTAGIOUS. He told me this could last a WEEK. (You can tell I'm well educated by my all caps, no?) However, he would not write me a doctors note for anything past today's date. As in he put his foot down. Laughable insane, but also kind of troubling that someone in a position of literally making lives better would choose to make lives more difficult. Let's just say for argument's sake, my company has inflicted really strong new rules (which it hasn't officially but we are trying to be more respectful as reps and i would like to be an example and not a jerk) but let's just say i work at McDonald's and doctors notes are a must. Now let's say i work tomorrow. And my eye gets a little worse. And my doctor told me it's contagious. Well guess who might be eating that heckin delightful germ-burger tomorrow? The man literally refused to give me a note. I dont give a crap if it was not contagious, maybe Im an adult person who needs a break and can't get one without a note! I mean im not but dude, your silly little note is not gold, it's not drugs, it's not anything worth coveting like a weird Gollum doctor. I asked the incredibly well composed woman at the desk, who was super friendly and smiling and level headed, if maybe i was out of line. Maybe confused about our social roles, because he seemed to be acting like he was my dad, my principal, or maybe my parole officer.. but she did confirm that i was not confused and he was in fact, a doctor at a walk in clinic. I said well, this is what I do, I go to walk in clinics on Holidays and try to set myself up to make less money for the coming week. Also, (This is precious) He wouldn't give me A prescription for one of the most basic medications, Because he wanted me to get blood work for it.... It's not antibiotics, It's not pain meds, It's not mind altering, It's not any kind of popular street drug filler nor an ingredient for any. He said he would need me to go get blood work, for the thing i already know that i have. The way i was prescribed the drug in the first place was by a doctor who said, "use this and if it doesn't work, we can rule out this particular skin disorder" Because it's so freakin benign that there's no risk if you use it for healthy skin, and if it works you just saved yourself from social embarrassment! Not doctor dick though. He saw right through my skin-rash-Med junky BS! Yeah bud, i was gonna go get high off rash cream. I rub against strange animals and go to ER's to get my SCRIPTZ! I'm furious. I miss NYC where doctors understood that their powers were intended to help and not to hold over the general public like brats with a bag of skittles in kindergarten. I probably shouldn't have 1-starred thé place because Rasheeda was such a sweetheart and i know they were understaffed.

Literally the worst experience I've ever had at a walk in- AND; AAAAND the amateur doctor didn't…read morewrite his name on the dang script anywhere so the pharmacy refused to give me Prednisone and medicated ointment that I desperately needed to be able to sleep tonight and work tomorrow. It's a crummy environment in a terrible location. At least they were nice though.
