He creates something out of the pile of ideas I send him and never disappoints. He curates a welcoming and relaxing environment and doesn't fail to keep his hand relatively light and the experience short. It's all your own preference, but I never feel as though I am alone through the process, he has the ability to make conversation with a wall or just be the wall. I have first-hand seen him interact with unexpected costumers and been touched by how he can kindly answer questions that might seem obvious to others. I can't wait to work with him again. I just got a tattoo done today, but have added a picture of a memorial tattoo that he did for me a couple years back.

It's the second floor of a house, and you genuinely feel like you've been welcomed into a home. And then the artists...are spectacular in really every way. Everyone I have met has been so nice, so cool, and of course so skilled and talented. They take their work tremendously seriously and produce amazing results. On top of all that, their prices are super reasonable. Getting inked can be super nerve wracking, particularly if it's your first time. I can't imagine a better studio than Tsunami to put you at ease. Seriously I can't recommend them highly enough.

It's clean, organized and quiet. There's parking on the street but I've never not parked in front of the building. I would recommend Tsunami a hundred times over. You need an appointment and I'd recommend calling well ahead because they do not take walk ins.

It honestly was the best day in recent memory. This shop is unlike any tattoo spot I've been to - it's serene, calming, and immediately puts you at ease in a situation where you might be feeling a little nervous. Jess, Emma (the other tattoo artist), and Wayne (a piercer who has pierced me several times!) are all welcoming and fabulous to have conversations with. Jess is such an amazing artist - watching her tattoo is a thrill - and her artwork hanging around the shop is unreal. He is a Fantastic tattoo artist, and artist in general. I love how he takes the time to discuss what you really are looking for in your tattoo. He then takes all that information and draws out the perfect custom tattoo that you will absolutely love, and then tattoos it on you with such precision and accuracy that it will really blow you away. His lines are so clean, and water shading is pretty damn perfect. He is very focused on his work and will not let you leave with a tattoo that he/you won't like. The new studio is also beautiful, it's located in the old firehouse building that has almost completely been restored. The studio has two large windows that actually used to be the garage doors to the fire truck bays. They let in a lot of natural light and give you something to look at while you're being tattooed. The studio is also filled with a lot of really interesting art, mostly paintings, and always has good music playing. It's really a relaxing and creative environment. The shop is also very clean, and James is very good about making sure things are sanitized. I have almost two full sleeves completely done by him, and definitely plan on getting more until I don't have any more room left on me!
