I got married here may 20th. Heidi and her husband were great. I was able to use any decorations I wanted and was able to borrow anything she had. Anything I needed they helped with. The venue is absolutely beautiful and they do a good job keeping the place clean. Throughout the process of planning my wedding they were always a phone call or text away. We got along great with the Lovins and I highly recommend booking this venue. My mom got along great with them and Heidi made sure my day was perfect. She even helped decorate and helped with my dress when I found out it was too big. Thank you for making my big day so special. read more

First off, Heidi and Bob are amazing. They were nothing but professional and accommodating throughout the whole wedding process. I booked the venue a year in advance, and if I ever had a question or wanted to come and view the grounds, they made the time for me. I was treated like FAMILY. I would reccommend them in a heartbeat. The grounds are beautiful. All of my guests were impressed and are still talking about how beautiful everything looked. Every wedding has some sort of hiccup. Mine was having enough people to help set up the reception area. Heidi noticed this right away and went ABOVE AND BEYOND her contracted duties by helping us set up my personal decorations before guests arrive. (She already cleaned and set up the grounds) Nobody asked her ---- she selflessly gave her time. I was told by family that she even helped clean up at the end of the night. Who does that? I've waited 8 months since my wedding to review this venue just to see if my blood stopped boiling. It hasn't. My heart is pounding as I type this... TL;DR: Please just have your wedding somewhere else. Listen to old Sally D. and Laura G. We went to visit WPG one year before our wedding after looking at just one other venue. We wanted an outdoor venue where we could have our own alcohol and catering and with plenty of available parking, this fit the bill nicely. The flowers were in bloom and the venue itself is quite lovely. Bob and Heidi Lovins (the couple that owns the property and the venue) chatted with us for quite a while. They seemed pleasant enough. We decided later that week that we would just make our lives easy and book with them instead of going through the hassle of more venue viewing. I called Heidi to tell her and discuss paying the down payment, she said she'd call me right back. She never did. I should have seen the red flags right then and there. Instead, I called her back the next day and we squared things away. Our date was set. Several times throughout the year I reached out to the Lovins with questions as I continued my wedding planning process. My e-mails were often flat-out ignored. I would have to e-mail them several times to get an answer to a question. These people need to have a secretary if they are trying to run a wedding business. Brides are going to have questions, and someone should be available to answer them in a timely fashion. The packet they send you with information is primitive and full of typos. It has hardly any usable information. Therefore, one is bound to have questions. Ok here we go! Two days before our wedding we go to our "rehearsal" at the venue. Basically just to tell the Lovins how you'd like the tables laid out and they can tell you the rules etc. We were maybe 10 minutes late due to being unfamiliar with the area. I received an angry voicemail, text message, and e-mail from Bob Lovins about being late. Um, excuse me, didn't I pay you for this time? Anyway. The rehearsal itself was actually fine. They showed us where things were and how to get a hold of them if we needed them during set-up on our wedding day. They actually do have many things available for your use. On our wedding day, set up was fine, ceremony was fine, and cocktail hour was fine.. During dinner, Bob Lovins shows up (in a hideous, red Hawaiian shirt) with some other helpers to lower the sun-shades on the covered structure. Fine. After that, I don't think I remember a minute of my wedding that I didn't see Bob Lovins and his leisure-wear. Obviously, at your own wedding you're pretty busy. But, at some point we start hearing some buzz about our bartender being berated by Mr. Lovins. He was accusing guests of drinking alcohol not provided by the bartender. He basically turned the end of our wedding into a messy, ugly affair. I confronted him about it (again, this man was omnipresent at our wedding) in a civil manner and he and Heidi insisted that they did not intend for word to get back to us about their treatment of our guests. The entire issue was particularly frustrating because we had, at the rehearsal, identified a point of contact (my father-in-law), for Bob and Heidi to address with any concerns. Rather than abide by their own rules, they insisted on berating our guests and even my husband and myself. Then, they basically blew us off and said we would resolve at a later date. The venue closes at 10pm. By an hour before our end time Bob and Heidi insisted on our bartender issuing a last call (not their prerogative and in violation of their own rules), turned off our music, and aggressively told our guests to leave. At this point, they also either stole or threw out the remaining catered food - we never saw it again. They also entered our dressing rooms and removed all our personal items without our knowledge or consent (this included cash and other gifts we received), leaving it haphazardly outside. Again, this was far in advance of the time written in their own rules and mutually agreed upon. They ended up only giving us back half of our $400 deposit. They claimed we left after 10pm and ruined two of their obviously inexpensive tablecloths (wax from candles melted from the sun). They accused us, in a rambling and ill-written letter, of having guests smoking outside of the designated area, which was curious, as none of our guests smoke. I would also like to say that Bob and Heidi told us multiple times that they have NEVER kept part of anyone's deposit, so if they tell you that, they are lying. There. I've finally got that off my chest. Your wedding day should not have this added stress, and sadly, this will be the part of the wedding you remember. Just save yourself the hassle and pick somewhere else. These people do not have the disposition to be in the wedding business. They should be in the joy-sucking business. read more

My husband and I got married here last September. It is a beautiful venue for an outdoor wedding! There were such pretty flowers and plants everywhere! Bob and Heidi were both so friendly and helped with anything that I could think of. They were able to work with our schedule for quick meetings and for our rehearsal. This place is also a nursery and a pumpkin patch in the fall so there are plenty of beautiful plants all around, not just in the wedding area. There's even a play area for little kiddos! I would suggest this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful location for an outdoor wedding! read more

I have attended events here and also hosted a memorial service here as well . The venue is beautiful and very well maintained at all times. It's well laid out with electric, nice bathrooms, water, etc. The owners have alway put forth much more effort than necessary to make sure everything runs smoothly (I.e. Helping to clean up after the event). My favorite aspects of the space are the adjustable sun shade on the reception enclosure and the put put golf area for the groomsmen to enjoy while the ladies are getting ready . read more

Attended a wedding there recently. Lovely venue and the added decorations by the bride's family made it spectacular. So, a Rave to the venue. Unfortunately, I have to give a Rant to the owner who behaved very poorly at the end of the evening. I'm sure you had a contract that allowed you to be paid for the extra time it took to remove the decorations. I couldn't believe how demeaning you were to the people who were trying to clear out. I had my wedding there over a year ago and while the grounds were beautiful and they had enough space to accommodate our guests, we just weren't treated as well as I think we should have been for the amount of money we spent to rent the venue. Heidi is incredibly sweet, but bob is so rude, yelled at my guests for various things, and was rude to my husband at the end of the night. We felt like we were getting kicked out at the end of the evening when in fact we were leaving within our time allotment. If I could turn back time I would pick a different venue! read more

This venue is beautiful, my daughter had her wedding there the owners are super nice and a very hard working family and are so on top of your requests to make sure you are happy. The gardens are so pretty, property is clean and we were so happy to have been able to have it there. The area for tables is covered so you dont have to worry if it rains or is too hot. They got my daughters hopes up only to tell us they wouldn't rent to us do to the type of party and people that would be in attendance, a "quinceañera", is intended to be a beautiful religious ceremony in which she & proud parents will pledge to continue to live her life in a respectful and religious manner. It saddens me to have worked so hard to give her her dream ceremony and venue only to be judged based off our appearance, religious ceremony and ethnicity. It was a beautiful place when we visited although we unfortunately are not welcome, for no reason other than the type of celebration we are having. Very saddened but just making sure others don't waste there time going if you aren't the type of person they rent to. Initially they told us her date wasn't available but when my daughter offered to change the date (and celebrate her birthday in a complete different month), to then just be told the truth, they just wouldn't rent to us, there should be laws against this. read more

My hubby & I got married here 1 month ago. The venue is incredibly beautiful. There are many photo op areas & plenty of room for guests. There are separate bride & groom suites that are very roomy & decorated nicely. They even have real bathrooms on the property for guests! I was surprised at how many outdoor venues use a port potty. They have a storage shed full of things you can use at no extra charge for decorating. It really kicked our decor up a notch. They even have a kubota tractor they will clean up if you would like to use it for photos. Again at no extra charge. Bob & Heidi take great care in their venue & our wedding was even more beautiful than I imagined it would be. They are available throughout the day/night when ever you need them. At the end of the night they are there helping you clean up so that you can get out in time. I have read reviews saying they are intrusive & pushing the bartender for last call. They do suggest a last call with the bartender. Some people might not like this. I wasn't present when they were talking to the bartender but I think this is helpful. They are not saying you need to leave right then. People can still hang out & dance. It is just to start the process of closing the night down. I felt like they are the professionals & they know how long it's going to take for everything to be broken down, ect. They want to give your deposit back & are there to help. Over all our wedding was amazing. If I had to do it over again I would still pick this venue. read more

Winding Paths was GREAT. First of all, it's freaking adorable: the owners' last name is "Lovins"! They were super helpful through the whole process, and day of had everything set up before we even got there (at 9:30 am!). The place is absolutely beautiful-- there's a gazebo and a grassy area, and behind that a covered structure that's kind of like a barn with no sides. They have shades they can pull down on it and standing heaters for inclement weather, and it has plugs everywhere for lights. They provide a bar on wheels, tables, chairs, linens, and a bunch of random other little things. The venue has a small putting green, a great changing room for the girls (boys have to change in the shed), and a little prep kitchen. During the fall/winter they have a pumpkin patch (that was a sunflower field in the summer) and animals (incl horseback riding!), and they give discounts to their brides! They're building a hedge maze, and they have an area for kids to play. They'll let you take pictures on a tractor and a wagon they have (I LOVE my tractor pictures!) The prices were totally reasonable-- we had a Sunday wedding and it was $2500. You can contract your own vendors, though they will recommend some if you want. The place is big enough for probably at least 150 people. We had 40 and had TONS of room. They have 4 daughters and know how to do weddings RIGHT. They'll help you out and provide great suggestions. 100% recommend with no reservations. read more

We just got married here last month and while the experience was great, I did have a few issues with how the owners acted during the day of. At first, they were really great with getting everything taken care of as we'd asked, then as the day progressed on, they became overly watchful of EVERYTHING we were doing. More than once during the day, the man owner came into the bridal room and walked in on a couple of my bridesmaids. I was very embarrassed to hear they had to deal with that. During the reception they kept standing around the tables and watching everyone very closely. This made me very uncomfortable, as it made it seem like we weren't supposed to be there or be having a good time with our guests. Also, we had a Sunday wedding so our contract stated we had the venue until 9pm (including clean up time) though at about 6pm, I'd heard the owners ask some of our guests when they were going to leave. This struck me as extremely rude and I was very disappointed. For the amount of money we spent to rent the area for the day, you would think we would be allowed to use the grounds for as long as the contract allowed, and not been made to feel like we were somehow disturbing the peace. The area is beautifully maintained, but due to the service I would not recommend this venue. read more
