We held our 60-person wedding at the Wallace Falls Lodge in Late September. It was PERFECT. We rented out the whole lodge for the weekend so we could have all of our close friends and family with us for the whole weekend and it was the best thing for our wedding. We got to start setting things up the night before, so the morning wasn't super crazy! Working with Kendra and Adrienne was superb! They are so kind and helpful making sure you have everything that you need, and all questions are answered. Kendra helped set up the weekend and every time we got to chat, she remembered all of our details and had the best suggestions for vendors and layouts. Adriene was there day of and helped answer last minute questions, located parking signage, and managed vendor questions with ease! The lodge made some recent upgrades so the ceremony and reception space (new tables and arch) was absolutely gorgeous! Check in/Check out is easy if you follow their list, and the flow of the wedding day was a breeze because everything was at the same place! The perfect place for a friends reunion! We had about 20 adults and 4 kids and loved everything about the Wallace Lodge. Definitely looking at going back next year. We reserved the whole lodge for a family celebration to mark my mother-in-law's retirement. There are new owners (as of 2020) and they are doing great work. Laura was incredibly friendly and had excellent and clear communication during the booking process. This is a cozy woodland retreat that can really give families plenty of space to spread out. Each room has it's own bathroom and the beds were super comfy. We had a 3-year-old, 18-month-old and 7-month-old in our group and it was a great place to be with young kids. We had to watch them around the stone hearth but it was much more kid-friendly than a lot of places we've stayed (including outlet covers, pack-n-plays, toys and booster seats). It rained a lot while we were at the lodge, but the kiddos loved running and playing in the carriage house and the grown ups enjoyed sipping cool brews in the hot tub. We really appreciated being able to take a hike out to Wallace Falls without getting back in cars. This lodge has quite a bit of taxidermy, so if you've got vegans or otherwise stuffed-animal-sensitive folks in your group, be sure to warn them. We appreciated all the high quality soaps/shampoos/hand sanitizers (lavender!) and the very clean rooms. The lodge is a wedding venue, a retreat/reunion destination and more like a hotel (with individual room rentals) when there aren't other events going on. It's an easy drive from both Seattle and central Washington, so it made a perfect destination for family from both sides of the mountains. My husband and I rented Wallace Falls Lodge for 3 days for our wedding weekend. We were able to have all of our family stay with us, and it was great to have all the extra time before and after to set up. The lodge is huge with 10 bedrooms and 10 baths. I would stay here just for the lodge. For the wedding it was PERFECT. They have a cabana area set up with surround sound which we used for storage and our dance floor, it was great not having to hire a DJ. We just set up our computer! In the summer they have a huge, beautiful tent set up. Comes with tables and chairs(although be warned that if you have more than 85 people, the other 30ish chairs don't match). You can bring in your own caterer, and you can party the night away because there is no one around! No need for the party to end at 10, which was very important for me for picking a venue. There is room for people to bring RVs and tents too, and the Wallace Falls State Park Cabins near by means most of your wedding party can stay near by. We loved being able to spend time with our friends and family and not be rushed. Yes, its more expensive than your typical wedding venue, but you are paying for so much more than just a place to rent for 8 hours, you have the entire lodge and grounds for as long as you want. Which was worth it to us with friends and family coming in from all over the country. The groundskeeper Dave is awesome, and is as available as you need him, or he stays out of the way, but he is super nice and very knowledgeable and makes sure you have everything you need. The Lodge is very kitschy with lots of mismatched stuff all over the place, but it adds to the charm. The living room area is nice and cozy with lots of comfy chairs and a huge fireplace! There is also a hot tub, and a huge wrap around porch with lots of outdoor seating available along with multiple firepits. We are so glad we rented Wallace Falls Lodge for our wedding and would definitely come back with friends and family for a nice weekend getaway. read more

Wallace Falls Lodge is located in the middle of nowhere. But that's great if you want to see the stars from the hottub. Yes, there's a hottub! The building is a quaint wooden structure with a wide porch complete with rocking chairs. Inside, you'll find about a dozen animal heads mounted on the walls of the living room. I hear there are more scattered through the rooms. Our cook was overly talkative and didn't seem to understand his place. The proprietor, a lady named Mary, was loud and perhaps crazy. She made a comment about making sure there were eggs available... for the vegan in our group. The rental rates are reasonable, but bring your own food. We were charged $1000 just for meals during our stay (3 days), and the ingredients of all meals combined probably wouldn't cost over $100 at Costco. We were fed things like canned chickpeas, bean soup, pancakes/waffles from a mix and canned fruit. Water and bad coffee were the only beverages provided - no juice, soda or even milk. Nothing we ate was fresh besides the blackberries we picked ourselves. In short, a lovely locale, but a questionable business. read more

My wife and I were visiting friends in Gold Bar so I wanted a place to stay close by. I found this placed and got ahold of Mary the owner. This is not a hotel or motel it's a huge cabin rented for large groups and weddings but if they have no events going you can rent a room for 125 a night. We stayed 2 night Saturday and Sunday because the group before us left that Saturday. We had the whole 10 bedroom cabin to ourselves. Sweeeeeeeetttttt. . They don't have tvs, coffee pots, fridge's in the rooms like a hotel or breakfast in the morning like a hotel but there is a huge kitchen down stairs with everything you need to make a 9 course dinner so bring your own food. It has a large game room with tv next to the cabin. It also has a hot tub out side on covered porch and a fire pit to have a fire in the evening. . We had deer both nights feeding in the yard. They are booked every weekend through the summer for mostly weddings but have availability mid week. If you want a quiet romantic getaway during the week this is the place to go. We set down stairs in front of the fireplace in our pj's with a glass of wine both nights enjoying the solitude and watching the Deer grazing. This is our new getaway place for sure.. read more

A group of friends and I rented the lodge for a "friendsgiving" get together and it was a perfect venue for us. Booking was easy, the rates were reasonable and was perfect for a large group (ours was almost 30 people). We also got access to the party room next to the lodge where they had folding tables and chairs we used for dinner. The only slight criticism would be the kitchen being somewhat small. We were able to make it work just fine - but anyone that books should just know there's one stove so can be a challenge to cook for a big group if they need to. Again, we made it work just fine and we plan to book again for other events. We highly recommend this venue! Actually, another bummer was that you can't have pets. Understandable, but just be aware. read more

Remember August of 2009 when we had that record breaking heat wave in the Seattle area? You know, 103 degrees and all that? Yeah, two of my friends got married here that weekend. Outdoor wedding. Luckily it was "only" 95 or so by that time ; ) So despite the searing heat, I still have pleasant memories of this place. It is WAYYYYYYY out in the boondocks in case you couldn't tell. The closest "town" is Gold Bar, which ain't much. I stopped at a convenience store for some ice and it looked like a scene from Dukes of Hazzard or something. But once you get up to the actual site it's nice. There are two buildings, one with the kitchen, several upstairs rooms, and a small sitting area. The other building is just one room perfect for cutting the cake or things of that nature. There's a courtyard that can be covered, and a large central grassy area where the ceremony was held. Parking is a little tight but not too bad. It's a little too far out in the toolies for me, but it is a good spot for a wedding and served us well that day. read more

Laura was the consummate hostess for our recent stay at Wallace Falls Lodge in Gold Bar. What a great place to stay if you want extra time to enjoy the Wallace Falls State Park right next door! I had no idea this place was in such a beautiful setting. It's a true log cabin lodge with a spacious modern yet rustic look! It has 10 rooms that are sometimes rented out individually for a reasonable price (some have 2 beds), or the whole lodge can be rented. The kitchen is quite functional, the dining area great and sitting area lovely as well. I enjoyed the hot tub and the wide expansive lawn surrounded by trees with mountain glimpses. Two adorable deer frolicked on the lawn as we lay there taking in the beauty of the place. We didn't have enough time to check out the fire ring - that will have to wait for our next visit. read more

Recently a small group of us stayed at the lodge for a retreat and found it a perfect venue: very welcoming and homey. We made our own meals and found the kitchen well-stocked. The rooms were very comfortable...including the beds! We enjoyed the hot tub quite a bit and the close location to Wallace Falls State Park where we could hike. read more

Visited this place for a wedding and it was lovely. A quiet, secluded forest venue in the foothills of the cascade, the facilities were clean, well laid out, and felt like a nice place for an escape from the city life. There is a caretaker on the premise who is quite helpful. It looks like this is a great place to bring a group of people, a family to commune with nature. read more

I reserved the lodge for my wedding - we stayed for three nights. The guys and guys ended their bachelorette/bachelor parties at the lodge Thursday night and we prepped for the wedding on Friday. The grounds made for a gorgeous wedding on Saturday. All my guests loved the venue and we were very happy. The groundskeepers are easy to work with and really nice guys. We absolutely loved our wedding. This would be a 5 star review if it weren't for the 9 AM checkout time. We had to wake up super early to ensure that 10 bedrooms full of guests and the grounds were cleaned up by 9:00 AM. It was really brutal and it almost spoiled the amazing experience we had the days prior. Mary did offer to extend the checkout to noon for 500 dollars but I found that far too expensive for an extra 3 hours. I really wish they would reconsider this check-out time for the sake of future guests. read more

This is a nice hotel by Wallace Falls State Park. The property is lovely and the rooms are clean and cute. I especially appreciate that they are not full of knick knacks and cheap art like some hotels. There was no tv, which was a nice escape from noise. The only negative things were lack of breakfast foods (not even instant oatmeal or fruit) and the train about a mile away. read more

If was possible to give negative stars for this establishment I would. They are under poor management that made booking and organizing my wedding celebration a nightmare. Additionally when we tried to reserve rooms several months in advance of the event for the night prior we were told no problem but they wouldn't collect the money until we checked in. Then only 6 wks prior to our arrival we were informed they had given away our rooms to another wedding party. We now had to scramble to find rooms for out of state guests as well as ourselves that were traveling from out of state. Regardless of the beauty of the place and the low cost I would never recommend this establishment to anyone, it has been a nightmare for us. read more

Wallace Falls Lodge is the prettiest place I have ever stayed. I used to go to a condo in Sun Valley that my old work owned and they allowed employees to use it and it was rustic and lodgy but NOTHING like Wallace Falls. This is the REAL deal. It is made of actual logs, which are visible inside and out, finished in a beautiful golden pine stain, as well as the kitchen furnishings being made of actual logs. It's not a bed and breakfast, but you won't care because you can literally use anything you want to in their kitchen. They have a massive selection of pots, pans, plates, cups, you name it. I stayed in what I deemed the prettiest room because it had the highest windows...but in the morning it does get light too early so I think there should be curtains in the "bird room" (upstairs). The coffee maker didn't work for us but we went and got our own at a closeby stand, so that was fine. They also have this huge cabana type building outside - which is like a huge, detached bonus room with a dance floor. The TV is up too high on the shelf for as small as it is. I think they need a bigger TV. But as the owner says, it should be about getting out into nature and enjoying each other - as that is what vacation is about. The jacuzzi is far superior to many jacuzzis in both cleanliness and jet power. So thumbs up to that! The caretaker that was there on site keeps to himself in the basement and he is a nice guy with a funny sense of dry humor. We liked him just fine and he was very helpful and available. Again, nothing bad to say really! Loved it so much! read more

I got married here a few weeks ago and it was pretty much heaven on earth. We stayed for 3 days, so we got to have the bridal shower, rehearsal dinner, and wedding all at the lodge. It's absolutely gorgeous there, and one of my favorite hikes is walking distance away. Working with Mary (the owner) was very easy, and she responded to every email within a few hours. One of the caretakers is the nicest gentleman that you'll ever meet in your life! The other caretaker... well, he was REALLY nice to my mom. I think he was annoyed by me and my husband and our guests, and he pretty much made that known. But ultimately it wasn't a big deal, and we got a full refund on our damage deposit on top of everything which was really great. My husband and I got to stay for one extra night thanks to my mom, and we enjoyed being on the gorgeous grounds, just the two of us, and finally got to get in the hot tub and just spend time together! I look forward to returning to the lodge again on anniversaries. read more

Beautiful lodge with tons of room! We attended a wedding there, and there was plenty of space for guests to talk, play games, prep for the wedding, and eat without getting in one another's way. The tent and the annex make it a perfect spot for a wedding, allowing preparations to take place without completely taking over the lodge itself. The two criticisms I have is that the kitchen is a bit small, so if you're there with multiple people who all intend to prepare their own meals, it'll be cramped; and while I love that each room has a private bath, it also makes it slightly uncomfortable if you are there for an event but not staying as a guest, as it means you have to go into someone's room in order to use the lavatory. Overall, though, I can see this being a great place for a large gathering - all of the family and friends who stayed there really liked it! read more

My wedding at Wallace Falls Lodge was absolutely perfect. We didn't have to worry about having many decorations because the place itself was beautiful! We had an outdoor ceremony at the altar provided in the field outside the lodge, and an outdoor reception under the tented area adjacent to the lodge. Since I only had 48 guests and most of them came from out of town, it was perfect for many of them to stay with us in the lodge itself. We were all comfortable and relaxed, especially because we rented the whole place out for 3 nights. The facilities were clean and the outdoor areas were perfectly manicured and maintained. David, the groundskeeper, was accessible and so friendly. We loved having out wedding here - it was effortless! read more

I hosted my wedding here in July 2015. I couldn't have asked for a better venue. I wanted something that felt intimate and didn't give me a ton of restrictions with my wedding. I loved that my family and I could spend a few days before and after the wedding to spend time together and relax. We enjoy rocking in chairs on the porch, playing lawn games, walking to the hiking trails just a couple of minutes away, grilling out, and playing games in the game room. As for the wedding, we didn't have to worry about quickly setting up or taking down the wedding and rushing out. I love that you can have an outdoor venue or switch indoors if the whether gets bad. My family loved the venue because they could sleep on the property, making it easy to have alcohol and dance way in to the night without worrying about driving home. The staff were super helpful. They are on site to make sure everything goes well but give you space. Another special touch, after your wedding, carve you and your loved one's name on the wood banister! This was a wonderful venue for our company retreat--clean, welcoming, comfortable, spacious, and inviting. We appreciate how many different spaces were available on site for meetings--including a beautiful, huge canopy that had been set up with tables and chairs for us, which allowed for variety and different weather conditions. The hot tub, beauty of the landscaping, and access to Wallace Falls were pluses. On a personal note, I left a personal book behind and Mary promptly found it and put it in the mail for me. Terrible! I'd give NEGATIVE STARS!! The owner Mary pressured us into signing contracts relatively fast saying she has lots of other people looking, even before we saw the place in person, ( her claims of other people looking at the place turned out not to be true-- and she lost no business besides us) then we tell her we have to switch dates because important members of my family faced some complications and could not make it, and Mary threatened if we moved our dates again she would keep all our money and give us no refund!! Shocked, my family said we shouldnt be working with someone so unprofessional and so not understanding, weddings are stressful and Mary was just adding to the stress. I told her we were canceling and wanted refund. She denied our phone calls, and would only respond to emails. She kept our deposits and said she would refund our rooms but we havent gotten ANYTHING back from her. No security deposit, nothing that she said she would return. SO if you like getting ripped off and want a TERRIBLE wedding experience-- Wallace Falls has your name written all over it! read more

Great place and close by to everything. Quiet and on 10 acres located right next to the Wallace Falls State Park. David the Inn keeper was knowledgeable of the surrounding area and where to eat or go and do outdoorsy types of events. David was there when I had a question but not hanging around so it felt like we had the lodge to ourselves. You are out in the middle of nowhere but there is also pizza delivery service and a couple of restaurants within a couple miles. The park is a short walk from the parking lot. They take care of the grounds and the rooms were clean. Each of the 10 bed rooms had a different theme. Bonus was that each bedroom had its own bathroom with a shower, sink and toilet. The top floor is a reading sitting room with a great view of the mountain, cannot wait to come back when there is snow on the mountain. Couple of extras are there is a hot tub, wood and propane fire pits, horseshoe pits. During the summer months there is a huge tent over a concrete pad to protect you from the rain or sunshine. Something new from the last time we were here is they put a TV and a DVD player in the cabana tied into the stereo speakers. No TVs in the lodge but there is wireless internet access available free of charge. Take some friends along and reserve the whole lodge. There is no bad room in the place. Bring fire wood if you want a fire and propane if you want to use the propane fire pit, they have bottles you can rent if you forget. Bring DVDs if you want to watch a movie. read more
