It took the owner two weeks to give me an "estimate". He said he did a "drive-by" and sent an email that said that "based upon the height in some spots and roof layout ... we'll have to pass on the job." I don't live in a mansion. Other companies have done a roof and gutter cleaning before. Sounds either he just did not want the job or was not competent enough to do it properly. What really ticked me off was that he did not even bother to knock on the door and speak to me personally.

Since I was unable to be there when they came to do the estimate, Shawn emailed me the info and offered to do the job on the spot. So, I left in the morning with clogged, overflowing gutters, and came home in the afternoon to find the job completed and the debris all cleaned up. I got a quote within a day from HandyCraft that was well within my budget for the repair. A couple days later, Dan built the custom door and installed it in under 3 hours. He even painted the trim so it would blend in better. I didn't want to spend on any unnecessary bells and whistles and didn't feel any pressure to. On top of that, a couple weeks later when the door "settled" from all the freezing winter temps, I noticed the lock needed to be adjusted which they fixed at no extra charge. Since then, he's fixed a screen door that never closed right and reinforced a backyard fence that was also damaged fm the storm.
