We are hoping that our $13k double front hurricane doors hold up in a storm. After the storm last week we had water seepage under the front door when the rain hit the door. We discovered that it was due to lack of caulking on the outside. We have taken care of that issue. Also the doors do not come painted. Look at the document you sign carefully if you move forward. We missed it and we were never told that verbally at the point of sale. The cost of painting if contracting through the company (via a third party contractor for an additional 4k or more) the installers are also third party contractors. Not company installers. Don't get me started on the other two doors. Like we said...would never recommend. Could go on and on but tried to make it short. We allowed ourselves to make our purchase based on emotion. After purchasing custom double entry doors, hurricane rated fiberglass doors the active door…read morewarped. First Impression Doors (FID) was very unresponsive to the issue that occurred within 24 months of installation. Additionally the custom glass was insecure and began to migrate down on both doors revealing an ugly unfinished edge. FID provided a replacement active door but we had to pay for installation, refitting the glass on both doors and also priming and refinishing both the old door and the new one. Throughout the entire process FID refused to accept responsibility for the issues and instead blame the outdoor exposure to the doors ( this is what a door does!?!!). For these reasons I would not recommend a custom fiberglass door and would not recommend FID however they have a large selection of other products that would not have similar issues.
