Amazing park. Clean well kept and reasonable. They even have a power washer to clean your ride.

Weekends only: take the shuttle up

On Sunday, my husband and I were driving back to Nashville from Gatlinburg with his family, and he wanted to get in some mountain biking. Cut to the chase: it was worth it, and he said compared to Oregon's trails they are more aggressively cut and rowdier. If you want to try it, here's how you do it: First, swing by the small general store to fill out a waiver and pay $35 for day use and the shuttle (weekend only). Second, park the car in the gravel lot. Then walk up to the upper shed to rent your ride and get fitted. They were nice enough to let him ride for half a day's price $50. He was able to take the shuttle up twice within an hour and had a blast. Bonus tip: We dropped off his mom, sister, brother-in-law, the nephews and niece at the Children's museum that was only 15 mins away. They had fun for the full hour and then enjoyed the sun and the playground.

Such a wonderful place!! The staff we've come into contact with are and have always been very helpful, kind and courteous! We've always stayed in their cabins the cleanliness is definitely a huge selling point for us! The trail system has something for every one and the views.......are just gorgeous!! Thank you WR we'll see you again! Thank You once again for pushing through the pandemic and sharing such a great place!!!

This place is amazing for outdoor adventures that we are. It provided plenty of challenges that never disappointed! We actually tent camped the primitive campgrounds. The sites were clean and the bathhouse provided was heated and clean as well.

This place is my favorite place to ride. The people here are so nice. The trails are awsome. They have a lot of sightseeing.

This was the best choice a solo parent with kids can make! Although the idea of camping in tents is on our to-do list; we wanted to be socially distant during the pandemic. I could not have chosen better. Even if you do not have an off road rig or ATV or bicycle or dirt bike, you can rent a Polaris. Tip: when we arrived there weren't any available. I couldn't find online where it says to call ahead to reserve, but apparently you live and learn! If you are going specifically to rent a cabin this is a great place too! Our cabin was slightly delayed but they cleaned it like nothing I had ever seen. Plenty of parking and playing for the kids. Great WiFi service and close to the store, grill, and trailhead. We stayed in the Poplar View cabin.

This is hands down my favorite place to ride my Jeep! Such a beautiful place with a lot of history!

Three words: Off Road Paradise. ATVs, dirt bikes, Wranglers - all come here for a little adventure. And adventure they get! 400 miles of rough roads and gorgeous views. Oh, yes, I am loving it! There are 150 driving trails ranging in difficulty, elevation and scenery. Gravel trails, rock trails, mud trails. Dirty-like-a-pig Jeep-driving fun. On day we all arrive (NY license plates! Yea!!! NY!!!), it been rained out for 3 days straight - there are puddles, mud, creeks and just general insanity. Perfect! Unless you are experienced off-roader, do not, I repeat, do not take black trails. And note that blue ones get just as difficult after the rain. Yes, you guessed it, even Jeeps get stuck in the mud. Oh, this is so much fun! Make sure to see the windmills and stop for mountain views and wild nature along the trails. Blooming honeysuckle, butterflies that are size of your hand, jungle-looking trees all around, clouds setting in on higher trails - beautiful!

We come from Miami just to enjoy this park! Everything is fairly clean and the employees are all very nice and friendly. Off-roading wise, there is a variety of obstacles for everyone to enjoy from smooth rides to challenging trails. We normally get there around 9 and leave around 6 on a good day if we don't break anything!

Plenty of windmills

Area currently has a lot of construction going on but it's pretty well marked. I parked at a church, which turned out to be a delightful little restaurant and brewery. What an amazing way to end a bike ride. Maybe not the best way to start it. But hey, no judgment here. There are also if you porter potties, which were medium level clean and I appreciate them. I went on a Sunday and they were definitely people, but it wasn't overly busy. Lots of children trying out tricks. The problem I have with this trail is that it is short little burst of fun challenges. When I run and bike, I prefer to just get on the bike and go for hours. Just because it's not my jam doesn't mean it doesn't serve a purpose though. And I definitely appreciate it being in the area. There are wood, bridges and stumps, ramps, and other fun little woodsy elements. I definitely think it could be for all ages trying out their tricks. Even had some people walking. If I had more time, I would have explored whether it goes to the road or Greenway. I did a tiny few detours, but they always ended at the road with busy traffic and not a lot of bike lane action. Definitely recommend the spot If you wanna try a little tricks and are in the area. It was beautiful greenery with tons of wildflowers all around. Very nice people.

The main central loop is considered "easy and nearly level." All lies and I was on foot! After stumbling over tree roots and trudging through dead leaves & mud I soon realized, I don't like hiking. I like nature walks! Pretty, paved, moderate, you get my drift. That being said, Jackrabbit Mountain Trails are lovely! Parking is free. There are pit toilets, maps & information, air pumps & tools. There's a hose to rinse off and a grassy field with picnic tables & grills by the lake. The trail was created for bikers in so I walked alone as they politely zoomed past. The trails are well-worn so you won't get lost and there are colored stickers on the trees every mile or so. There are no benches to stop and rest. But there are educational signs on trees and plants. I met the sassy 'Sassafrass,' the 'Oriental Bittersweet Plant' (which really needs to stop threatening the others), and the beautiful, slow growing, long lived 'White Oak' which can reach 135 feet! Because it was Fall, I couldn't take my eyes off of the trees. I've never seen such brilliant colors! The beautiful golden yellows, bronze and burnt orange leaves were really breathtaking. Then I saw the peaceful, still waters of Lake Chatuge and fell in love! Of course a loud boat sped past and messed up all that tranquility but it was still worth it. I'll return and I'll bring my bike!

The Inner Lopp was great and a nice short loop for my 5yr old to go on for his first ever MTB trail ride. Trails are groomed pretty well and I can't wait to go back and try the 5 mile Gobbler Trail. Make sure to drive a vehicle you don't mind getting scratched by brush and can handle a moderately rough gravel access road. No way I'd take a nice car down this road. Trails aren't marked as you enter but are further up the trail where it has a junction. I'm sure this will change as the more permanent signs are made. Currently there are only two loops. You can go either way when the trail forks as they both return you back to the main trail head. The map on the website is what's planned for the future so don't plan your trip around that. I've added a pic of the current map that's at the junctions. I'm excited to see more recreation opportunities in Murphy. There are more trails in progress so stay tuned people, this a wonderful addition to the area.

I contacted Alex a little bit last minute, as we had previously planned on going to a different, more self navigable trail. Had heard a lot of neat things about KUW, and had Alex's Knoxville Outdoor Tours recommended by the local MTB organization, Appalachian Mountain Bike Club(AMBC). Even though I kinda got him last minute, Alex was very accommodating and got my ride set up. After riding KUW with Alex, I can tell you, I'm SO glad I procured the services of a guide to ride it. It would take riding there on a regular basis for a while (as Alex clearly has) to get to know all the rights and lefts and in between's!! Plus, Alex knows what's what as far as downhill, cross country, mix of both, and can plan your ride accordingly. Do you want to go 8 miles or 18 miles? Alex will set you up. He's awesome about warning about hazards, twists/turns, trees (above and below), etc., that you might come up on suddenly. He stops as needed. He had snacks and extra water if needed. Alex had a ton of recommendations of where to get after ride food and beverages, and also sights to see in Knoxville area. We went to SoKno Taco Cantina (right up the street from the trailhead we rode from), and I had a beer specially brewed for the AMBC group, called Best Medicine. I also had the burrito platter as suggested by Alex after he kicked my butt for 15 miles!! Lol!! And last, but most importantly, Alex was just a blast and a true pleasure to ride with. I had so much fun, and can NOT say enough good things about this experience!! If you are visiting the area, and want to ride Knoxville Urban Wilderness, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't use KNOT guide services. I promise you, it is worth EVERY penny!!
