The paved road had several spots with sand and rocks due to the recent rains that covered sections of the road. Unfortunately, while going through one of those spots the bottom of our car hit something and we heard a noise. On mile marker 19, I pulled over and I contacted AAA Road Assistance for a towing truck. The AAA dispatcher desk agents got very confused and they called me back twice after the first conversation. The weather in the area, desert was 90 degrees. Fortunately we had several bottles of water and snacks. After several hiccups with AAA, they called me back and informed me that Sierra Towing was coming to rescue us. Clayton from Sierra Collision & Towing called me and gave me an estimated time for him to arrive. An hour later, as he mentioned, he showed up and towed us to our home in Las Cruces, NM, 46 miles away. Clayton is very professional with great customer service skills. On the road half way to our home the truck AC stopped working, and Clayton was very apologetic, which we didn't mind once we rolled down the windows. He mentioned that someone else had driven him truck and left it dirty and with the AC failing. We do not reside in Truth or Consequences but I definitely recommend Sierra Towing if you ever need help.

The driver arrived quickly, loaded my truck onto the flatbed, and only after my vehicle was fully loaded told me there was a "price change" and that I needed to call his boss. When I called, I was told they "didn't account for mileage" and the price was now $220. After pushing back, they lowered it to $200. This is a classic bait-and-switch. If mileage wasn't accounted for, that should've been caught before dispatching a driver, not after my vehicle was already on the truck and I was effectively stuck. Quick response time, but the pricing tactics were dishonest. I wouldn't use them again and wouldn't recommend them unless you're okay with the price changing once they already have your vehicle.
