If you ever wondered what a visual representation of a cacophony of shoes would look like, then…read moreShoes Direct Factory Outlet in Brunswick will probably give you a clue. Shoes. Shoes everywhere. Not unkempt, mind, just numerous. The front section of the store features the latest stock in all styles from boots through to sandals, work shoes and sneakers, ballet slippers through to high heels and wedges right through to all of the above in children's sizes (though with notably fewer high heels in the kiddie section). The stock reflects the fashion trends amongst the various staple designs that pop up every row or so. Out the back are the heavily discounted odds and ends leftover from other seasons and trends, or were simply relegated there when the more common sizes sold out. This section is an unmoving parade of bargains for people with the right foot size, with all of it down to the last couple of pairs, so it's a generally hit and miss affair. The shoes are all from different brands and designers, largely from within your standard cheap to mid-range venture, so unless you're very gentle with your footwear you needn't expect your purchases to last long term. Prices start at $5 in the back room right through to standard mid quality boot prices. Highly convenient, if a tad overwhelming, from sheer force of its size.

A great selection for shoes, boots, and sandals- especially for those who require more arch support…read morethan others! My poor feet had been hurting from all the walking and travelling that I've been doing. Because I had already worn down my former Orthaheel sandals, I was due for a new pair. Shoes are great, but living in Hawaii and California for nearly all my life has conditioned me to wear sandals on a regular basis. I needed something quick, easy, and comfortable when I head out the door. The Walking Company provided many options for that! Many shoe stores I've visited rarely stocked orthopedic footwear- the only exception being the podiatrist clinic. Unfortunately, there is not much selection in design in such places. While my primary aim was to find orthopedic sandals, I also had a strong preference with ones with pretty designs. Although I have a foot problem, I don't necessarily want to advertise it to the world! Some footwear brands, such as Vionic and Orthaheel, offer this extra feature. I like the illusion of wearing cute sandals that don't look like orthopedic crutches. If I'm going to be spending extra money on special sandals, they best look nice! In actuality, I didn't have to spend extra money for nice sandals at The Walking Company! They were having a sale and much of their shoe prices were reduced. A pair of Ahnu sandals that originally costed $149 were on sale for only $89. The prices are still a little steep for me, but most orthopedic footwear is expensive. This was a pretty good deal. Also, they have a return/exchange policy that's pretty good. You can try out the shoes and see how it feels at home for a few days, and if it's not the right fit you are welcome to return it. The staff was really helpful and friendly! I am probably the most indecisive person in the world! It takes a while for me to decide what I really want. When it comes to making a decision that's going to affect your daily life (i.e. shoes, sandals), you want to make sure it's a worthy investment, right? The lady helping me was very attentive and wasn't put off by my lack of decision-making skills. After spending a while deciding between all the options, I decided to check out the Ahnu sandals. It can definitely be difficult to find shoes that's just the right fit. If you want a wide selection of footwear, I would definitely recommend this place. They cater to both men and women. From sandals to boots to orthopedic ware, they've got you covered!

I must admit that I do a lot of walking. Before I go overseas on one of my adventures I first make…read morea pit stop and come here to get some new shoes that I know will be durable enough to survive the journey. I am a big fan of Merrell's as they have the vibram sole that I know will last climbing any mountain. The Walking Company stock the largest range of Merrell's that I have been able to find which is probably why I keep coming back here. They also have a large range of other brands that would suit any foot and purpose.
