I've been to the store a few times, and generally speaking I quite like it. What I like best is their selection -- generally they have many edibles that include regular THC as well as CBD/THC blends which are my favorite. I will say that I am always surprised at the line, there is often a wait to purchase things. You can reduce your wait time by picking up orders that you have placed online. Generally speaking I would say the staff here are knowledgeable and kind, there is security to get in where they check your ID, and they have clear lines. You can order things at the kiosk inside which lists prices, and if you have any questions you can ask the staff members throughout the store. The location is clean and feels very legitimate. This location has great service and I usually never have to wait as a medical user. Staff is attentive and friendly and they are available to help you make and order or recommend something for your preferences. I enjoy the music they always have going and the experience is pleasant. I've tried this place a few times and I have the same consensus about dispensary weed. It's just not good weed. They advertise the THC content and you can choose the highest one and it will be dry with a horrible smell and no sensation. I do think this location has considerably worse weed than the locations in predominantly wight neighborhoods. Edibles are very weak and most of them taste very weedy. Cost is way too high and it should be noted that if you are purchasing something on sale it's very old weed. If you take a free pre-roll be prepared to cough up a lung cause it's even older. The freshest product I bought from them was packaged 2 months ago. IDK how it's being stored but their weed dries out really fast and it's just not worth the high prices being charged. I don't think I'll return to this location, but continue to shop around elsewhere. I will say I've been a heavy smoker going on 13 years now so noobs are encouraged to give this place a try. You may really enjoy the products. Connoisseurs, don't waste your money. The pic below is what I have left of the $64 3.5g Kush Mintz weed I bought. Super dry. Just packaged 2 months ago. Fool me once, but shame on me for continuously trying this location. Today my order was not packed correctly. The cashier acted as though I was an inconvenience to ask for the correct items. The same manager I had the last time came out to look at me, cashier was back there for some time, she saw me, made a turn to me, rolled her eyes. This was after the person who checked my ID forgot to unlock the door. The guard was rude. I couldn't get a name of that manager, but frumpy white middle aged woman should fit the bill. Your staff is awful. Personal calls while working in the floor? Phones out and actively texting to where I felt I was interrupting their break. Feels like some privacy law is broken if they're in personal calls and my name was said.) Thankful for the other dispensaries that treat customers as more then a personal conversation interruption, or actually look up from their personal phones to speak to me like I'm an actual person exchanging cash for items, and make recommendations or actually comment versus treat me as a total to collect and go back to their phone or conversation. I won't even get into how gross it is watching your staff eat while in line in the lobby. 3x I've seen this. It's a shame you'll never close due to your medical license and those being rare in this state. It's a shame you employee some of the rudest staff I've ever had the displeasure of interacting with. Clearly none of these issues will be addressed at your own risk (but there's enough people who don't care about this level of awful service.) AVOID! If you are about to go here check yelp or google maps for another dispensary. This place could quite literally and figuratively be classified as a buzzkill. We arrived and informed the security guard outside of the facility that we are walk-ins when he asked if we pre-ordered. He stated that pre-orders would take precedence but to go ahead and stand in line. Fine. We stood by as others were called in to the business because they had pre-ordered. Where things went left is when we were the only ones in line and the guy letting people in went back in and closed the door. We asked security why we weren't called in when no one else was there. He instructed us to just pre-order anything from the site to get called in and added we could change the order to something else once we went inside. Why even have that ridiculous work flow? We were eventually called in and to our surprise there is no product placement in the lobby area. Imagine the DMV without chairs as the lobby. We made it to the budtender to check out and changed our order. That whole process is unnecessary. The second star is given for the staff. If you have a medical card, this is the place for you. That is the only nice thing I have to say. Rec customers are literally treated like second class customers here, and they don't even try to hide it. "Medical users" get service first, which in theory is a great idea. But when you have staff sitting there yucking it up and these medical patients sometimes having massive orders, you get screwed in the rec line, this is even with a pre-order. Today was the last time I step foot in this location. Went in for a small purchase on a Wednesday, there were only three employees working counter and the medical line was booming because they have exclusive sales on Mondays and Wednesdays, sales that rec customers are locked out of. People in the rec line were leaving pissed off after waiting obnoxious amounts of time, an argument erupted between customers because people were rightfully ranting in rec line, and it took me exactly 57 minutes in line to walk out with my pre-order. This is in the morning, btw, about 9 am. I could only imagine what it is like at rush hour. Rec customer stay away from this place, they do not value you. The menu is confusing because there are so many choices and I was just looking for some fucking flower. Its a cash transaction, so whats with the computers and profiles? You should take a page from Amsterdam. There, you walk into a coffeehouse. The weed is behind the bar in big ass jars, prices in chalk on a board at the end of the bar. I love coming to Windy City Cannabis in Homewood, I haven't had any problems since becoming a medical patient in August. As a medical patient, what I love most is the curbside pickup option. It's a lifesaver when the line is stretching around the corner, AND for people who have difficulties moving around (like me, who has a cast on her leg at the moment). The staff has always been upbeat and friendly, they've given me good brand recommendations to try out, and the front foyer is nice and clean. My only critique would be to add "MEDICAL PATIENTS ONLY" wording on the curbside pickup signs outside. It'd help a lot of first-time patients who don't know that these spots are reserved. read more
