About a week ago I waited in line here with a friend who is a medical patient. The experience was poor enough that it compelled me to write this on Yelp of all things. So, the customer I'm accompanying is a no nonsense, veteran cannabis consumer (i.e. they know what they need to treat their symptoms.) Now, I want to preface this by saying I have inside knowledge of how the "AICs" and "management" operate. The "service" was beyond awful. The skinny black dude who rang us out was rude and whiny (not only to my friend who is the actual customer) but towards the other employees who were actually hustling and running back and forth. Being fair, the last time I used this location in 2023, I had a *very* bad experience with both the "manager" and assistant "manager." I didn't happen to see either. Not only did they over charge me, but the service sucked. I went there as a newbie, and purchased some exotic Yuzu, it was horrible!!!! and the person helping me could not read or type. I don't know what happened to this store, but there has been a huge revolving door in employees. The whole vibe is bad, everyone's miserable. The red head and middle aged hairless man are some of the rudest people I've ever tried to correct a customer service issue with. I won't be back, the attitude and wait with constant new employees who are rude happened across 2 months. I've been coming here since Medical only and this is not a business I want to support. I've been here countless times. It's ok. Nothing to get excited about. Today I came on a Friday at 615. Big mistake. Huge line, wrapped around building. I don't mind waiting, but this is literally the slowest moving line i've ever waited in, anywhere. If you find yourself desperate enough to come here, don't come on Friday evening. The worst dispensary I've ever visited. First of all they didn't have any flower. Never visited a bud less dispensary. They didn't accept my Hawaii medical card which is bs. States need to be in unison with this. They make you fill out some long ass forms. Wouldn't be mad if they had stock. As a newer (newish?) mmj patient, Windy City Cannabis in Posen is where it's at. Now, I'll confess I don't have much dispensary experience to base this on, but here are the selling points for WCC: everyone there is super nice, super helpful, and they know their sh*t, yo. Seriously. I'm the type of person who goes in with an idea of what I want, but I'm *also* the type of person who has All The Questions, appreciates input, suggestions, etc. WCC Posen is perfectly aligned with my tastes: they're never pushy (& never hit me with an obnoxious upsell pitch) and super informative. They offer bomb weekly specials (get on that email list!) and as a WCC patient...you can take any of the classes they offer at any WCC location. I took a free class last month at WCC Worth--how to make edibles with RSO--and Lauren was a great teacher (she had a co-instructor who was also great, but I'm drawing a complete blank on her name). Made my first batch of gummies shortly thereafter and they came out perfectly. Like...amazingly so. In short, picking WCC Posen as my dispensary was one of the best decisions I've made on my mmj journey. Candice (I hope I'm not butchering the spelling of her name) walked me all through my first visit and she made it so easy and such a welcoming experience; I'm so grateful for her warm, professional demeanor. They didn't tell us about the 20% off new customer deal. they over charged me & whoever the lady is who worked there today with dark hair & is of Asian decent (I dont want to mistake her ethnicity) was EXTREMELY rude to us & even had people check on us to make sure we weren't opening a package. I tried them twice. I am a medical patient They advertise curbside pickup for medical. My first visit a young man came to the car, I asked him a question about a menu item, he quickly explained he didn't come out in the rain (drizzle) to answer questions.... but to be rude was unacceptable. I'm a senior with very bad knees but I went into the store, spoke to manager (her name was Rae or Rie) but she didn't give a damn. I placed an online order today, tried curbside again. After maybe waiting 5 min I called to let them know I was there. After waiting 10 min I called back. I know I waited 10 more minutes because I was on the phone and noticed the time. A most excellent place. If there are more than a handful of people there before you, be prepared to wait for what seems like a very long time. This place is horrible, if I could give it 0 stars I would. The GM, Courtney, doesn't know how to talk to people and she makes up her own rules. The staff picks and chooses when and who they want to sell the Verano to but they claim it's a 1 per customer per shipment limit. They never update the menu. I've seen them put indica where the Sativa goes and vice versa. The neighborhood is drug infested and at times I didn't feel safe. The employees are stoned out of their mind and zombie-ish at times. I live in the city and I specifically drive to this dispensary for their curbside pickup during the pandemic. It's amazing. Order online, drive up, wait a bit (nbd, but be prepared)- and never have to leave your car. Out of all the dispensaries in Illinois this is the best. The problem is the prices and the rushed feeling i get. Illinois doesn't allow us to shop and find cool things. And then you figure out the taxes, and after paying $70 for something that has been $30 my whole life, you got the insane taxes. My was $295 and i paid $362. I agree with what people say about this place. I've been having my medical card for over 2 years. I've bounced around dispensaries. To get a feeling of which places are the best. Posen sits as my worst dispensary. Out of the 5 months I've been a medical card member at this place. You tell them your a medical patient but you get to the back. They don't have nothing to offer you except a blank sheet. I thought medical is priority and dispensary are supposed to hold a certain shelf for medical patients. This dispensary does what they want. Sell all products to Rec because they make a bigger tax margin for this place. Now I've been to other Windy City dispensary. They are not ran like this!!!
