I attended a corporate meeting last week at "The Strat". The group totaled about 70 or so. We needed a stage, tables and space for eating, mingling and group photos. The Stratton Hall Venue has all of that. It's not much to look at outside, but stay focused until you get on inside. There is a single large space with a nice looking laminate floor and blacked out ceiling. The lighting is ample and not glaring at you from above like some predator in flight. The other two rooms are complimentary to the larger but with their own ambiance. The second is a third of the size of the larger space with elegant drapery and stylish in appointments. Right next to it is a room almost equal in size that is referred to as the Chapel. It's more versatile than that. It is a totally white space with chandeliers and accompaniments that make it appear to be more of a dreamscape. The comfort rooms are decorated nicely and there is a lounge that is elegant. Of particular note are the concierge services supplied by the customer service representative. She is attentive and ready to respond to pressing issues. We headed out onto the ball cages where i swiped the card and balls started coming out of the machine. He had a hard time hitting it, i guess he has his grandmothers eyes! He did not like the d-bat. We came in via Ooltewah and I was following my gps, which took us straight to the site. However, the entrance to the parking area isn't clearly marked and being that it's on a hill makes it difficult to located in time to pull in. We bypassed it and had to turn around. Very annoying. After we got turned around and pulled into the parking lot, which was gravel, we parked and exited the car. My wife had a hard time walking to the barn due to the gravels. The grade of the parking lot and the walk to the barn and wedding site were steep and were certainly not conducive for those needing assistance. Several older folks had a hard time getting up and down the large hill. Even the younger crowd had a difficult time due to the steepness of the hill. As we all gathered down by the large tree we noticed a rope holding the tree together where it had split down the middle. This wasn't really a problem but it was interesting. It was also hard to sit because the chairs weren't level. This place was beautiful but everything was on a hill of some sort. Be very certain that this place is the right place for you and your guests before you book and pay.

We did our first course at Old Gillman Grill for a French inspired meal and then did a walking tour of Chattanooga's alleys - which are designed by the community. Then we headed to the Westin for a very competitive scavenger hunt followed by a Korean inspired meal at Alimentari. The tour then ended with tapas and an espresso bean old fashioned (Basil Lime Spritz mocktail for me) at Paloma Bar de Tapas on the 10th floor of the Westin, which overlooks the city.
