It's been some time since I've visited Bleu Fox. It really is the go to spot in town for your unique cheese needs. Yes, I now all the traditional grocery store operators have their specialty cheese sections, and that's okay, but if you want really unique variety, if you want to understand proper pairings with your cheese, if you want to speak with a real cheese expert, to have some fun with their ongoing events, locally, this is the place you go. It's impressive the shops evolution since their original opening, and you really do want to follow them on Instagram so you are aware of their ongoing events that will not only build your cheese and wine knowledge, but you'll have fun, rubbing elbows with your neighbors. So for this visit, I came into BF to sample their "Sandwich Week" entry, the Brittany, it was absolutely delicious, and while I was there I was able to trade music experiences with one of the staff members, they know more than cheese and wine folks. read more

Wonderful, beautiful, outrageously delicious charcuterie platter made with love - what could be better than that. We got a medium sized box for a family of four which we brought back to our hotel and devoured much too quickly - it was a good amount of food but it was so good it couldn't possibly have been enough for us - we joked about going right back for more. Great variety in-store and awesome cheese boards of all sizes! Ordered several individual cheese boxes for a trailside picnic; the boxes were a perfect quick lunch on the go. This is a MUST STOP !! What a fabulous find!! We just happened to stumble on this place and sooooo glad we did. We actually needed fresh blue cheese for stuffing olives in our martinis . We were "hopeful" and we hit the jackpot !! Chris was superb in knowledge, advice and attitude. He stepped right up to give us samples. After explaining what we were looking for, he guided us to three fabulous cheeses... #1~Jasper Hills Bailey Blue, which was semi-soft & salty to taste. Martini Perfection !! #2~ a Smoking Goat Mitica, #3~ Marcel Comte Petit. Both Of these went well with the cheese platter we made at home. Then, came his advice on wines: Escudo Rojo Grand Reserve. . We opened that one first... it was perfectly paired with our cheeses. Awesome choice!! Another one, we haven't opened yet but will soon. Kivelstadt Cellars Estate Pinor Noir. I really like the Goat Cheese and Fig Panini sandwich on white bread. It is reasonably priced for a sandwich. It's just a sandwich though and comes with a dill pickle slice. Everything else you add is ala carte. I can easily make this at home with the same quality of ingredients they use for much less. Although they sell fig jam at their shop, I am pretty sure it is not what is used for the sandwich on their menu, but I could be wrong. Lately it seems they are having an issue with suppliers being able to accommodate their needs. There have been several times when I've been told they don't have items on the menu. They use Grubhub for food delivery and I had an issue. It was the restaurant's attitude about the problem and the dismissive way it was handled that rubbed me the wrong way. What happened was I placed an order online through the Grubhub app for a dinner delivery for Bleu Fox. It was a large order that included a literal feast. The Grubhub driver picked up the food from Bleu Fox but never delivered the food to me. The Grubhub driver and customer service both claimed they couldn't find my address, yet they never had a problem finding me before. They simply canceled the order. I got my money back but we had to make alternate arrangements for dinner that night, which was a hassle. I got to thinking about it, as it appears to be a scheme. My question to the restaurant was --What happens to the food when the Grubhub driver picks up the food from the restaurant but doesn't deliver it to the customer? I wasn't able to contact the restaurant via phone, and, as I found out later, they had an issue with their service. Several days later I was in their shop ordering a charcuterie box to take home. I mentioned the issue to one of the owners and she remembered it, since I did contact her through Yelp messages to let them know what transpired with my large order. The lady was dismissive, as if she didn't want to talk about it. She never answered my question. One of the gentlemen who also owns the shop jumped into the conversation to say this is not the first time this has happened, further, that it has happened on many occasions! This changes things for me because even though the issue was with Grubhub and was through no fault of my own or theirs, I felt like there should have been some sort of acknowledgement, something more than just saying, "Oh yeah, happens all the time". If a restaurant knows a food delivery company routinely jacks food from customers, they should find another service. Perhaps I'm out of line here though, as maybe, just maybe...all food delivery services do this and the customer is at their mercy. It shouldn't be this way though, and I believe it is the restaurants who must step up to stop this from happening. How easy would it be for Bleu Fox to not allow a delivery service? I know I would. I would like to see this small business survive, but the delivery problems, coupled with their supplier problems, keeps me away. read more

At a pop up dinner last month, I got to experience something truly uniquely delicious that is sold at this shop - Noogarons. I've seen pictures from the shop on Instagram of yummy looking cheeses too. Those are on my list to try in the future. Who doesn't want to try out a new cheese? Noogarons though are macarons of unique flavor combinations such as Plantain & Jackfruit, Coconut Rambutin, Passionfruit & Green Mango. The Passionfruit & Green Mango was my favorite. I enjoyed each of them. Not too overpowering in sweetness. Three seemed to be a sufficient amount in a serving. Noogarons are the perfect size of balanced tastes in each bite. Ordered a cheese platter for four for Thanksgiving and, while the cheese was excellent and the portions were decent, we were surprised by the packaging. Everything came in a single cardboard box. There were distinct piles of each of the items, but the flavors of some of the accoutrements bled into the others. Our biggest surprise was that there were no name/description cards for the items we chose and - even more importantly - the additional items they add. I believe Chris told me it had like 10 different cheeses in it. Oh my heaven. This is a cheese lover's dream. Cheesealicious. Cheese-stacular. It was almost, I said ALMOST too much cheese. It was tangy, and sharp and gooey. The toasted bread gave it a delicious crunch, as well. I also ordered the ham and brie sandwich. I'm a sucker for a sandwich with brie on it. Hey, I'm a sucker for anything brie-related. I love brie. Like I want to marry it, kind of love. Well, this sandwich is also toasted on a panini press, giving the bread that great crunch. The ham was very tasty and the creaminess and sharp tang of the brie was divine. The only thing I would change, was maybe have a jam with it. I actually added it myself at home. Something about a little sweetness to a sandwich with the saltiness of the ham and the richness of the brie, just takes it over the top. Yum. There are various grilled cheese sandwiches plus other sandwich options with meats. There are also cheese board options and even salad Mediterranean options. Price is fair at $8 grill cheese sandwich vs $10 for meat sandwiches. The cheese board and other mixed hummus olives and cheese boxes are little more on the pricey side. A little cheese shop near downtown Chattanooga. We were just driving down the street, and we saw a sign that read "Delicious Cheese This Way." So, of course, we stopped. It's definitely among the smallest cheese shops I've been to, but it had everything you need: several cheeses (of various kinds and styles), meats, crackers, beer, jams, honeycomb and honey, etc. I walked in, told him that I wanted a cheese plate (they make cheese plates of various sizes - I got one just for me). He asked several questions about my cheese preferences ("How much funk do you like?"), and I answered him and said that I wanted to be surprised and try new things. The cheese plate came with two cheeses, some salami (also your choice), grapes, olives, cornichons, dried fruits, and nuts. It was delicious, and the perfect accompaniment to an evening in. Absolutely yes! The only word I could say after going here was "wow". It truly is extremely different than anywhere else. Being born in Argentina this place did nothing but remind me of what a local shop would look like. It gives you that vibe of going somewhere and picking out local cheeses and meats (like I did in Argentina). The grilled cheese was incredible and super crispy. The customer service was amazing I believe his name was Chris. My only recommendation is that they serve soup every single day (rather than once a week), this could be key to the business. The sandwich selection is limited but if any of the 5 or so other selections are as good as the ham and Brie I had or the Rueben Jill had you can go wrong. okay i'm not one to leave reviews but i dropped by today to grab a cheese board and some wine for my partners birthday and oh my gosh! i think jessie was the one who helped me out (i didn't ask for a name but should have) and he was SO kind and helpful and was so knowledgeable about everything i asked him about! he made me a custom cheese board and asked what my partner and i liked and even wrote down the names of the cheeses and told me about each of them before i left. i wanted to get a bottle of wine that would go well with our cheese board and he gave me so many suggestions and, again, knew so much about it. i could tell he really cares about this craft and i really appreciate that! also, i really wanted to leave a review after i left but decided to wait until i had a chance to try the cheese board and lemme tell you... the man knows his cheeses and meats and everything good that comes with a board. also the wine was *chefs kiss* (got in the car and immediately took a photo of the bottle for my dad who is a wine snob). 12/10 great experience and i will have to try hard to convince myself not to spent all my rent money at this fine establishment. read more

This is such a cool addition to the Southside neighborhood. Everyone who works here is friendly and knowledgable about their products. I have come here before for a "how to make a cheese plate" night which was fun and informative; and I have been several times to pick up some cheese and beer. If you ever need a 6-pack of craft beer this is a quick place to stop. They have cool menu and to-go sandwiches to eat there as well. I still need to make it sometime for a grilled cheese or poutine. You can also get an individual cheese plate to eat there (as well as order large ones for parties). The only thing they need is wine (which I think they are working on)! read more

I most likely will support this place alone with my addiction to cheese and dried meats. These guys have more specialty knowledge about their products then I could hope to obtain. We went for a grilled cheese Saturday because it was cold and I had seen a photo of one of their sandwiches that looked pretty good. Super cute shop with lots of nice things to buy and the staff was extremely friendly but that grilled cheese was a disappointment. The bread was far from buttery and crisp, had very little flavor and for $8 the sandwich itself was tiny. My college dorm made grilled cheese better than this. I'd give the sandwich 1 star but rates three because everything else was great. I'd go back but not for the grilled cheese. read more
