Alongside my professional work, I often take on discounted or pro bono projects to help local businesses get off the ground--because I care deeply about creative collaboration and community growth. In autumn 2023, I was approached by the manager of Silver Therapeutics' Bennington dispensary about becoming a featured local artist. It felt like a meaningful opportunity. I was told my work would be showcased in-store, sold as merchandise, and promoted as part of a long-term collaboration. I was promised fair compensation. Over the following months, I created more than 60 original paintings--pouring thousands of hours into a project I was proud of. I was reassured repeatedly that payment and rollout were coming. I believed them. I waited. And then--nothing. Despite multiple invoices and months of respectful follow-ups, I was never paid. Eventually, I was ghosted entirely. No explanation. No apology. No accountability. This wasn't just financial--it was personal. This project was supposed to support my daughter and help our family through a difficult year. Instead, I was left feeling humiliated and erased. Silver Therapeutics markets itself as a community-minded, ethical business. But no ethical business treats local artists like this--especially not those who show up in good faith, create with care, and uphold their end of the agreement. I've reported this to the Vermont Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau. I'm sharing my story not out of bitterness, but so that other local creators and small businesses can be aware--and protect themselves before investing their time, talent, and trust. In a world where every dollar we spend is a reflection of what we value, I hope my experience gives you something to think about.

I was pleasantly surprised by it, and I've been buying these types of products long enough to know their inventory is legit. My only gripe would be that after asking us if we were first time customers and then explaining that because we were, they needed to scan our IDs into the system, no one explained the process of making a purchase there. It's different than any other dispensary I've been to so I was kind of lost until I watched other people and realized you have to use the tablets they have around the store to find the items you want and then place a pickup order. I chose to pay at the time of pickup using my debit card. That was a strange process as well. Supposedly (I haven't looked into it) their credit card machines work like an ATM. ATMs charge a fee, theirs is $3.00. Ok, swipe the card and they give you cash. Why are they giving me cash? The "ATM" rounds up your purchase. Why does it do that? Don't know and I don't think they did either. You'd think it would be rounded to the nearest $20 since ATMs only dispense 20's but my total was rounded up to $98 and I was given $4 and change back. My gfs total was rounded up to $28. Maybe the 8 was a coincidence. It's just an odd way to take payments with all of the options available. Next time I'm ordering online and paying before I show up. I may as well have paid $98 because I ended up with $4 in my wallet that's just sitting there. Anyway, point is that they should really explain to new customers how everything works because once you are in you are on your own. No one came around to help, and after we were there figuring out the process on our own, and then deciding what we wanted for 20-30 mins, then standing in front of the counter for another 15 mins waiting to be called we were finally asked if we were there for a pickup.

The environment is clean and bright and well organized. The owner is friendly and professional with good advice. It's a very pleasant retail spot for all types of CBD products.
